thank you now if their is a grease fire in my home i tell everyone to stay back and let me do the work and im 12. i watched tons of these videos for fire safety. ty
two things missed in this video. 1. Turn off the heat. 2. make sure the extinguisher is suitable for grease fires. You're looking for a K class extinguisher.
I've caused a grease fire by trying to deep fry in a saucepan. I had done it several times before with good results, but one time the whole thing immediately boiled over. I knew to smother it, but I didn't know how effective baking soda was. Good tip! (PS: If you're going to deep fry, do it with the proper equipment in a basket.)
Baking powder will cause a dust explosion. However, baking soda is not flammable, so it won't do so. The reason we use baking soda when cooking is because it releases carbon dioxide, causing the food to rise (i.e., leaven). This also makes it quite effective at putting out small fires, since the carbon dioxide displaces the oxygen.
well fire extinguishers particualry for kitchen use usuaully contain a variation of baking soda is probably baking soda and some other things but I still would not encourage you to eat it!!!

Excellent video! Thank you :)
Add one teaspoon of baking soda
She forgot to mention to also turn off the heat.
This video is very helpful! I can remember not to use water in the future
Usually when I get a grease fire I yell at it and punch it...then it goes out
Its very effective 😂
Won't baking soda, which is a kind of powder, cause a dust explosion?

This is a legitimate question:
What would happen if one was to throw a flaming grease pan in a pool
Yep now my house is burnt down-_-
Fire extinquisers are made up of soda😁😁😁😁

How about turning off the fuel source once you’ve smothered it? You’ve done half the job in this video
flame is off
Your place is in the kitchen and not outside
No, that's your place.
