- This video shows you my simple method of reupholdetering an old rocking chair that someone was going to throw away to the landfill. Luckily I came across it before it was thrown away and refinished the wood to give it a warm and gentle new look.

Beautiful work
I saw on another video if you have an old tent it's great to spay paint and no nasties gets to the stuff you are painting.
You done a pretty good job for a first timer !
Thank you so much!
Funny enough, I have the EXACT same glider, redid the ugly green cushion last year!
I know that it has been 6 years since you made this video but did you make a pattern? I am refurbishing a glider like this but it doesn't have cushions
I was wondering whether to use paint and a brush or spray paint... how many cans of paint did you use?
Did your top cushions have buttons in it that went all the way through & did it have a wing on each side of it?
Yes it did! I didn't have the resources and knowledge to recreate it. But I don't think my sewing machine can handle it anyways
I like the instructions for the bottom cushion but I need help with the back cushion. My glider doesn't have zippers currently and I'd like to add them so I can wash the fabric (cat seems to think this is HER glider). Did you have a zipper on the bottom of the upper cushion? I'd also like to add a little definition to it but don't want to stitch through the foam. Guess I could tie some simple quilting knots through them and remove/replace each time it's washed. Grateful for your advice about a zipper on the upper cushion.
Hey Cindy, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner! I didn't see this comment until now. The top cushion does indeed have a zipper on the bottom. It's important to do that I think because you can easily wash your fabric (We have a cat too that sits on everything).
I wanted to make definitions on the upper cushion with buttons but I didn't know what it was called at the time and didn't have the knowledge to make it.
How does the painted surface of the armrest feel on your arms while resting them on the chair? Does the paint feel smooth? Or does it feel chalky?
It feels very smooth. You could make it smoother by spraying a clear coat!
Did you end up having extra fabric? I am doing this project but will need extra for a foot rest as well.
Yes I had extra. Definitely enough for a foot rest!
my mom has the same rocker, how do i fix the arm rest came detached from the back bar
I'm guessing a drill bit through the back. Screw it with a right length screw. Then fill the hole! I hope that helps
I find the outcome was great and amazing. the fact you stepped out and tried something new and succeeded. I don't know if you are a fiber artist, but at the looks of your first time cushion indicates you are truly gifted... . The issue was the fast forward instructions of the video was very discouraging as I have never made a cover too, hence why I am searching for video instructions. If this was the only video made and available I would go straight to Amazon and purchase whatever came close to replacing and settle for any cushion. Please slow down, show how you rounded corners etc..Making templates was a great idea and pinning the piping. As I watched the video, questions flew through my head as fast as your recording. With eyebrows raised it was as difficult as watching a football game looking for who had the ball. To be fair I'll give you 2 stars but only because I have to continue my "how to search" . I believe you are capable to get five stars. Slow down and include how you got from template to piping...
Thank you @sistersoe for this comment. I will definitely consider slowing down the video to explain more. I hope you find something that will help you.
I liked the fast video. The steps were all there. Unfortunately I wanted to see how to top stitch the back cushion, something he didn’t do. The finished cushion was way too loose and unfitted without that.
