The walk away, left hand in the air, looking at your back while saying.... 'Again, this is going to be a whole situation' had me rolling laughing. I rewound it twice and still kept laughing. This is great!!!!
I always learn SO much from your propagation videos! Thanks for taking the time to make these AND for taking on all the stress of these projects to bring us along!❤❤
You are brave for taking a chance with that beautiful plant!! Thanks for showing your progress through everything, definitely learned from your video, for my risk taking future lol.
You can apply fungicide to cuttings to stop rot! I've saved alot of cuttings and albos that way. The fungicide I use is Dithane M-45. I also find air layering is the best way of propagating albos. If not, moss is the next best thing. I experience alot of rot propagating them in water:( especially when the tip of the aerial roots are cut / not growing ( the white/ yellow tips)
Hi Kevin! I love your positive vibes (also when things go wrong). This is a lesson for you and those who watch your videos. Next time try to use charcoal or antifungal substance. Sometimes hydrogen peroxide is helpful too.
I’ve seen many people starting to use water only deep enough to cover the roots and not touching the cut stem/node at all, just hovering over the water with the roots covered, to avoid the stem rot where it was cut from having it fully submerged in water
Ahhh it was not a totall disaster! Super much learned here. And still a nice plant and cuttings. I laughed hard when you told us I did not kill it/its not dead 😆yet
Hi Kevin, I love your videos - they're informative and so enjoyable! I feel I know you 😍 I've been wondering what the difference is between growing a plant in leca & growing one in orchid bark. Would the fertilisation need to be different? Thanks for sharing your plants with us all xx
The green cutting will grow variegation as it grows longer stem. I had many experience with low variegation coming back as you let the planet grow. You got this :)
I would love to know what this plant originally costed yo you and do you keep track of all the props you have made? It has to be 20 by now lol. I haven't gotten an albo again since every time I order one, it comes fully rotted. I swear I have horrible luck. BUTTTTT.....I love how well all of your plants do. I know you didn't feel like your props did well but seriously. Your plants are incredible and I am sure most people wouldn't get that many successful propagations. You are great kevin
Your albo is so pretty its good to see that the new leaf has so much variegation but even if that green with only less variegation still gorgeous !This monstera albo is my wishlist hopefully i can buy next year the cutting here in Australia is crazy expensive $45O for 1 leaf one node cutting with not so much variegation not even rooted and $750 for a half moon or more white variegation !!
How do you tell the difference between a small and large form albo? Is that an official variant or just indicating the difference between juvenile and mature?
Thanks for sharing the propagation tips..I am one of your constant followers .May I know where you purchase the 50Liter leca I've seen in one of your videos? Thanks.
IMHO: I think the issue with cutting the aerial roots is less so about the different types and moreso about how “new” the aerial root is. I’ve had the best luck with the new whiteish greenish aerials turning into helpful roots. The older and darker the aerial is I think the more likely it rots in water. I think maybe there’s an analogy to soil versus water roots in there somewhere, but my brain isn’t working well enough to articulate it. But anyways - I think they had a harder time because you cut off the whiteish newer part of the aerial and relied on an older part of the aerial more likely to rot.
Steph 💚 I definitely agree with this! There's definitely a lot of factors that I also can't articulate 🤣 but yes I basically cut the root that had the best chance of rooting 😬
Keven first off Beautiful Christmas tree. I see you like to make clones of plants. Have you thought about trying to flower a couple philodendrons , then taking the inflorescence to create a hybrid plant? My mind races with possibles like , pink Princess mixed with Thai constellation. Or Florida beauty mixed with pink princess. Painted lady mixed with Albo. All and all I can’t wait to see your next video.🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️
oh my god please help me im having the same situation with a tip cutting i got about 5 months ago !! i’ve struggled so hard but it keeps rotting / not rooting 🥺
Monstera albo propagations are my personal nemesis, I killed 4 at point I have 2 at the moment both in perlite… they don’t do much… well if anyone knows a secret that I am missing out on pls let me know …
Beautiful, beautiful plants! But about green/variegated pattern - you need to rotate it more, the white cells grow when the light hits them directly (it's about light falling on the growing stem not on the leaves), try rotate it a bit every 2 weeks or so (like 20 degrees, not all the way 180, you may loose variegation altogether if the white cells suddenly stop getting light). At least that's how it works with my syngonium albo, my monstera is just a cutting for now so no way to verify my theory.
Can I purchase that baby, low variegated from you? I can send in my down payment or payment plan now and when she is ready to ship, it would be paid off by then. hahahaha
Thanks for taking the risks with this gorgeous plant so we can all learn from your experience.
Haha I love taking these risks 🤩🤩

LOL IT WAS A WHOLE SITUATION 🤣😅💚

Haha I learn so much myself!! 💚 Thank you for the support ☺️
A really useful tip I learned is to add cinnamon powder to the cut ends. It’s an antibacterial and help speed up the calluses!
You are brave for taking a chance with that beautiful plant!! Thanks for showing your progress through everything, definitely learned from your video, for my risk taking future lol.
Haha I learned so much so I'm very thankful for the experience 💚
I loved that you put all the videos together, great idea.
Oh thanks!! 💚🥰
my suggestion is to use an air pump for like an aquarium and only have the arial root in the water. i have literally never rotted a cutting that way 💛

Haha loving the black variegation! Great video, love the propagation ones.
Just here to say "Kind of a fail but not a total disaster" is gonna be my bio from now on😂
OMG I LOVE THAT. thanks for making me laugh 🤣🤣🤣
@@kevin. ❤️❤️❤️
there is no failure... only lessons ! Since i watched your videos, i'm dying to propagate all my plant!!!
I love your videos. You learn a lot through trial and error
Thanks true!! I definitely learned a ton from this experience ☺️

This is a great learning video. Thx for including all the historical info of cuttings etc.
Oh yay I'm glad you liked it 😊
Thanks for sharing this experience! Your reflections are very informative.
Ahhh it was not a totall disaster! Super much learned here. And still a nice plant and cuttings.
I laughed hard when you told us I did not kill it/its not dead 😆yet
LOL ITS NOT DEAD YET 🤣🤣 I put her in a jar of water and rooting hormone, changing the water every 2 days so I can watch it 👀

Okay okay I need to CALM DOWN. I already chopped a couple on the mother plant. OOPS 😬 another experiment I guess
I think doing airlayering would have been better.🥺
Thanks for your bravely. Oh my gosh how I can say it. Its totally okay. You doing well and thanks once again.
I would love to know what this plant originally costed yo you and do you keep track of all the props you have made? It has to be 20 by now lol. Learning for next time is a success too, and what is plant parenthood but a leaning process :D
Omg yes I love that! I totally agree 😃💚
As I'm learning after each chop, the options are, use growth harmone, wax, or use cinnamon on the cut ends
All great options ☺️💚

I love monstera i propagate mine and they are ok. I dont have albo though, yours are pretty.
Monsteras are the best!! 💚 I'm glad your propagations are okay ☺️

I do now! ☺️
You just made me want to try growing albos again 🤣 #challenge

Kevin, I think it’s almost time for a new intro.
Haha you don't like it 🤣?
This plant is seriously a slowest growing plant.
