So pretty! There are no limits with these. You gotta love the fact we are recycling paper and doing our part to keep stuff from going in the landfills. :)
Thank you so much Annette, I really really enjoyed looking through your beautiful journal and your stash of books and papers and your stamps and dies too. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤❤
She's so great. I've been following her also a long time now. I have probably watched every single video of hers. So inspiring, and she's such a hoot sometimes.
Loved looking through your junk journal, Annette. It is really beautiful. I am not really into junk journalling because of the grunge ...... Yours, however, is pretty and colorful. Looking forward to your new release next month. We are moving to the St Louis area (from Illinois) on Monday to be closer to our grandkids. Big change, but can't wait! Will be so happy to get my craft room unpacked!
Thanks so much Marie. I prefer this style of junk journal over the traditional ones out there too. How nice you'll be moving closer to your grandkids! (I wish I had some of those) I hope all goes smoothly. Moving is such a big chore. Thanks for being here this week again.
I'm working on my first junk journal. I'm learning so much and enjoying the process. Your junk journal is more ambitious than mine. I loved your first two releases. Looking forward to the next one.
Love your started beautiful junk journal! I am wanting to make one too and don’t want to keep it fairly organized but using all kinds of elements such as yours. I’m thinking I might use mine as a place of reference for techniques and ephemera making ideas to look back at once finished for inspiration. I love experimenting without boundaries to see what happens so this would be the perfect place to record and keep those techniques and elements. Thanks for sharing and I’m super excited to see your next release! 🥰
Hi Belinda and thanks so much. I think your idea to use it as a reference book is fantastic! I may do the same. Not sure just yet. I'm dying to share that new release (including my first ever paper collection) so I can't wait either!
Your journal is so pretty - I do love the look of not so much "junk" but pretty things in a journal - very nicely done Annette - thank you for sharing this and great tips!!
I’m looking forward to seeing the progress on your junk journal. I love that a junk journal almost gives permission for an “anything goes” journal. Although mine are on the not so junky side, it’s nice to relax a bit and use the papers I have made or accumulated.
Your video is so timely for me! I just got into junk journaling and it was great to see yours. It’s also reassuring that I can put a pretty one together and worry about “finishing” it at my leisure!
That's wonderful Ellen! I'm sure you will love junk journaling. No one says you have to complete it in one sitting. I love that about this journal. I can take my time and make pretty things little by little. I'm so happy you're making one too!
I do like your junk journal, my kind of junk journal. I decided to do a pretty one to, trying to pick the papers for the cover and pages. Thanks for sharing.
This is STUNNING! AND- I have some of the same hobby lobby paper packs as you used in this journal! I'm definitely going to rewatch this and make one using those papers. SOOooOo beautiful! Tysm! ♥️
Wow!! Your journal is so Beautiful!!! ❤❤ And I just LOVE all of your goodies and pretties… papers etc! I love the Rice paper!! I would love to purchase some😊 I the envelopes you save to make cute pockets etc! Thank you very much for sharing all of this 🩵🩵🩵
Thank YOU so much! So happy you liked it. It's such a delightful style of book to make. I'm enjoying it very much. Thanks for watching today and leaving such a wonderful comment. I appreciate it!
Chava, thank you so much! (And thank you for the package of goodies in the mail! I loved all the little things you sent me. I wasn't able to find your email address to write you personally.) I hope you enjoy junk journaling as much as I do. Thanks for being here again. ❤
I agree - Your journal is beautiful! Did you use any special materials for your hollow back spine to strengthen it - Or were the signatures sewn straight into paper only? Thanking you so much!
Very pretty journal. It was nice to see you can use any papers. I do not get much junk come though my letter box. I do try to the card which came with the items . But only like the pretty one. Thanks for sharing. Have a good week.😊❤
Thanks Jane. Neither do I. The junk mail I do get is pretty ugly, I must say. Wouldn't dare put it in my pretty journal. Thanks for joining me again this week.
Gorgeous ❤ the botanical pages in your JJ through out are lovely but you don’t mention the source (other than TH wall flower vellum). Pls link or share details on those beautiful pages if you don’t mind. Txs for sharing book resources too!! I’m very inspired by your journal
Thank you! The papers I used are very old, collected papers from probably over 10 years ago. Some of it is from old paper pads from Hobby Lobby and some are from single sheet purchases from scrapbook stores. I simply stash away my favorites and grab from those. This is the idea of my "not so junky" junk journal. Use things in my stash, and don't buy new. I hope that helps.
I love your junk journal! It has a more modern look with the scrapbook paper and that is my favorite type of junk journal. I am looking forward to seeing what you add to it. New subscriber here.
Just started on this journey. Made my first junk journal but leaning towards one like this one. Pretty papers , not so much junk. I'm wondering what size this is ? Looks like you just folded the cardstock in half and went from there. Can't tell how high it is. Thanks for sharing, can't wait to see more of it.
Hi Bonnie. Thanks for popping in to this video. My junk journal measures 4 7/8" wide by 8 3/4" tall and the spine is 2" wide. The inside pages, of course, are smaller and of various different sizes, but all are less than the size of an 8 1/2" x 11" size paper, which makes it really easy to work with. More junk journal videos coming soon!
wow! thank you so much for all the explanations. I have been collecting and hoarding (although...its not hoarding if its going to be used...right?! LOL ) and trying to get started. Clearly, I should just decorate some smaller items with the hoard and build from there. loved this vid! new subbie as of last week. tyvm :)
Such a pretty journal, Annette. I don't call them junk journals. I call them journals and don't put junk in them. Yours and mine are too pretty to be called junk journals. Not sure where that term came from, but I don't much like it. Thank you for all your ideas and tips. You see your stuff is not junk! Thank you and take care.
I make my weekly memory keeping planner pages by hand. I've got LOTS of videos on my week by week techniques. In 2023 I made a video per week and this year, I make a video per month strictly on how I make my planner pages. But if you're speaking about my "datebook" planner pages, I created a digital download on those which I sell in my Etsy shop. Here's the video explaining all the details for you: ruclips.net/video/cYNByV8qQes/видео.htmlsi=q20qP_49p7iOdkfy
I love how you go fast enough to keep the pace, but still show all the details. Great journal.
Thanks! That's how I like videos too, so I'm happy to hear you liked it.
So pretty! There are no limits with these. You gotta love the fact we are recycling paper and doing our part to keep stuff from going in the landfills. :)
Thank you so much! Absolutely right on feeling good, doing our part, and repurposing things! Thanks for being here.

Glad you showed us your junk journal after getting a peek last week. After watching your video, I had to buy the flora book on Amazon. 😍
It's a wonderful book, so i hope you enjoy it. Don't be afraid to cut it up. The illustrated images are so beautiful.

Thanks Cheryl! I don't care for the true junk journal look, so I'm happy you like this style too.

Thanks! I add a layer of thin muslin fabric to the punched paper when stitching the pages. That's straight from Nik The Booksmith.
Beautiful work, love the look of this journal- so pretty 😊

You are the master with paper
Thank you. Let me know if there are specific questions about what you're still confused over. I'm happy to help.

Hi and welcome! Thanks for subscribing! Yes, just get the base of the book done and let all the little fun follow.
Excellent advice. Wish I'd done that from the beginning before the "hoarding" started. New to your channel. Enjoying it

Thanks so much Carole. They really aren't junky at all, are they, when we use pretty things inside. Thanks for watching again this week.
I bought a 9”x 6”planner from ECD. I want to purchase some dies. To journal w/.how do you make your planer pages. You send them to a printer!?

Thanks. Let's call it my Not-So-Junky Junk Journal. 😊 Thanks for watching!
What are the dimensions of your journal in inches?
It measures 5" wide by 8 3/4" tall with a 2" spine.
Do you actually journal in this book or is it just pretty to look at?
Eventually, I will journal in it. For now, it's just a fun process of building and adding on to.
