That bookmark was a Dutch prayer card. It has a prayer on it saying how god's light brings persistence, used on Christmas 1961

You make the most beautiful journals that I’ve ever seen and we all obviously love these flip through videos. So many wonderful ideas to make without the fake stamps and ephemera that one can buy. Thank you so much. BTW, it must have been a windy evening; I had headphones on and took them off because I could hear rattling and whistling of the wind! Hello Sara-Lee, this journal is really stunning!! I love it very much. Such beautiful colours, textures, laces... And I love the authentic papers and photos.
About the bookmark at 22'13": it's Dutch and so am I 😊. It is made by Nelly ten Have in her calligraphy workshop and sent as a Christmas greeting. On the printed side it says the prayer "Our Father", probably well known and handwritten it says a poem or verse about baby Jesus:
"Your light penetrates all the world's wounds,
O Child, Thou Lord of all that is,
See how gladly my eyes burn.
Thy light is my salvation."

My my, how glorious this journal is. Just stunning. The workmanship and creativity are truly beautiful. Do you assemble your pages and sew the signatures first and then decorate? Or decorate pages first before sewing in the signatures. Would love to see your process from start to finish. I'm enjoying your channel very much.
Hi Cindy 😄👋thank you so much for joining me on my journey! I assemble the pages first and decorate, sewing signatures in last. I usually make 5 heavily embellished pages first and then the rest more simple. Seems like I have organisation but I think if you watched me I'm more like a squirell lol I start things, put them to one side, finish something else, go back to the first thing etc, I'm not sure my process would help anyone 🤣

Aw thank you 🥰 I mix my own colours using pēbēo colored brilliant watercolour. They are not wash permanent, but if anyone were to wash one of my journals I'd be a little surprised 🥰 the colour inks I used to mix that tone was burgundy and brown ink
Thank you Sara, this is is good idea. I use watercolor to dye the silk I sometimes use for the ruffles but I didn’t think of using it for paper. Take care Martina

Hi I was wondering how many hours went into this journel and how do you determine what selling price is?
Hi 😊👋Each journal takes me about 80 -90 hours work. The price I put on them doesn't cover my time, supplies and postage. Postage Internationally costs about $100 Nzd. I price them so that I can buy more supplies to keep doing what I love, covers the pain of letting my babies go, and maybe a coffee or two 😉🥰
