I am currently going through a divorce from a covert narcissist and I am stuck in the same home with him and our three kids. Everyone is concerned about my mental and emotional well being. I am meditating, exercising, eating well, reading and preparing for what is ahead. I am happier than I have been in a long time, certainly happier and freer than I have been in my 24 years of marriage. I have plans to start a support group in my area for people who are abused by narcissists, go to school to take classes so I can counsel people going through divorce from a narcissist. You ladies are amazing and thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience and helping out and raising the awareness.

I have been dealing with a narcissist for 14 years. This I can definitely say has been the hardest 14 years of my life. Even though I got away from him I'm truly not away from him. I have severe insomnia because I stay wake at night wondering what he's going to do next. My health is deteriorating. I pray everyday. It's hard when nobody believes you.

You must strategize your escape. I was in a similar marriage and left suddenly desperately and I agreed to accepting very little just to get away. My health is permanently affected and I pray you look up Divorcing a Narcissist information they tell you how to do it. I left at my lowest point in my life, what I learned was I am stronger than I felt and smarter than I thought! Their toxicity is Profound. I left after 25 years, my child was raised and my health was reaching a danger zone. Educate yourself and you can do it. Best wishes to you!

My ex-wife has to be in a category all by herself, "Supreme Narcissist".
She was repeatly mollested as a child by her father. Got pregnant at 16 from a drug addict boyfriend, dropped out of high school.
I met her during my senior year of college during my last semester studying accounting / finance. We met in a bible study group for singles. We got married when I was 25 and she was 26. She was just a beautiful woman and I thought that she was Christian.
We moved to Alaska after graduation (They offered twice the salary as my home State). After about three months, I told her that, I was sending her home on the next boat and that I would not live with all the stress and turmoil. One week later she told me that she was pregnant and that she would abort my baby if I divorced her. About ten years later I did the math and realized that it was an eleven month pregnancy..... uh huh??
I was a 235 pound, 5 % body fat, college heavy-weight wrestler, C.P.A. with a brillant mind and a very gentle spirit. Not someone that you would think would be totally dominated by a narcissist, However, she held my precious daughter as ransom. I lived on egg sheels for twenty years waiting for her next violent explosion.
I divorced her the month after my daughter graduated high school and headed to college.
Any one can be manipuled by one of these lost souls.

We have two kids. My 16 year old has been manipulated so much by his dad that he suffers from anxiety/depression. I have him in therapy. Thank you so much ladies for this much needed video. I am attempting a property settlement with a covert narcissist who has been dragging it out for the last three years. Thankfully we didn’t have kids together. He has all of our marital assets while I have lived in a caravan on my daughters property for the last three years. We have a beautiful horse property, a successful business and a luxury boat which he has complete control of. He has even remarried and has his new wife living in my house with him. I became unemployed Dec 2019 and can’t claim unemployment benefits due to my interest in the business. He is also currently holding a Mayoral position in our local community, so my name is mud through his smear campaign. We have a directions hearing this Wed, where I am also self representing, so this video has come at the perfect time for me and Tina has encouraged me to stay strong in my resolve to win this battle. Again I’m a huge fan of all of you ladies and thank you for bringing this pandemic to light .

Rebecca, thank you for bringing your expertise and experience to this arena. Too few lawyers have any idea how to handle a narcissist in court and often dismiss the partner's concerns. It means that many ex-partners of narcissists are getting unfair divorce settlements, dragged endlessly through the system and their children are not being adequately protected. You are one of the few lawyers speaking about the nuts and bolts of how to handle a narcissist in a divorce case. Again, thank you for bringing your voice to this arena.

It's been a decade of headaches and sorrow and feeling like a failure in not being able to protect my children. My children are confused and scared because they no that nobody listened to them and they have to continue to be subjected to these horrible situations. Saying and doing whatever they feel necessary to protect themselves. Their behavior has changed dramatically in order to adapt to their unfortunate circumstances 😔

To two of my favorite RUclips stars, the Brilliant Dr. Ramani & Law Goddess, Rebecca Zung - I remain so very grateful to you for what you do & what you share. To Tina (a new to me, brand new hero) - you are mighty. So wowed by what you accomplished to save your girls, yaaaay you! Even if I knew your addresses, I couldn't even afford now, to "buy" you a Thank You card. The financial strangulation is absolutely devastating & does cause a type of PTSD. Prior to my horse accident, and thru 15 years of misdiagnoses, I had always worked hard to pay my own way, inc. buying a house on my own. I enjoyed working hard...for that alone & also for the freedom & independence a good salary provides. Now my neck is so damaged that I can no longer be a reliable/ able to show up to work on any given day. I will most likely have to go pro se against my husband, a Covert, passive-aggressive, slightly malignant Narc. So, THANK YOU - Rebecca, Dr. Ramani & Toni for what you are teaching me. Grateful feels almost inadequate. 💐💞😊

I spent 2 years learning to understand who I was dealing with and unexplained behaviour patterns. If you are feeling mentally crazy, can't explain the undisputed unhealthy behaviours and dealing with enabling family and friends, stop take a breath and reach out to this group. I too never used the Narc word but made them focus on the dysfunctional behaviour to provide support for why I was doing the things I did not want to do to protect my son. OMG!! When you got to the best interest of the child, man!!! I wish I was on the video with you ladies!! My family just last month got our case finalized by requesting to become conservators for our 2 grandchildren. But months before this we had to separate one of the brothers after 6 months of already having our three grandchildren placed with us by CPS in TX. Our daughter was working her services and because of a new law in Texas on Sept 1, 2021, that stated non-offending parents automatically get the child. we had to separate the 3 boys. Now, my oldest grandson who was about to be taken from us NEVER in 9 years of his life spent time or even spoke with his father. So the judge decided well let's let them meet 1 time in person 3 hrs away and see what happens. This was after weeks of telling the judge he did not like to do videos with his father prior to his visit and telling CPS that he did not want to leave his mother or brothers a number of times. There was so much more that went into this case, but a long story short my daughter is trying to get her son back and has to deal with a narcissist. No, they really don't do what is in the best interest of the child in some cases. Because now he looks horrible when we see him on video, and his brothers are having continued issues. When my daughter's Atty spoke up and said that he did not want to split the 10-year-old, 6-year-old, and 5-year-old up. The judge said well we do it all the time so that's not a factor. Just because you do it does not make it right!
Thank you so much, ladies!! I've been forwarding these videos to my daughter to help her feel stronger to fight.

Her story was almost identical to mine. He won custody in 2013. He had access to a lot of money and I didn’t. I used a lawyer of all kind of cases. He assured me I would win custody! I told him that my husband manipulate my 2 older kids to tell the judge lies in order to stay with their dad. My youngest was scared of his dad and told the judge he wanted to stay with mommy. My lawyer again assured me I would win custody. We never had the first consultation on what evidence I had that proved he should not have custody and should have supervised visits and supervised phone conversations. I lost custody!!! My life was shattered!!! I had him in court constantly because he didn’t follow the order!!! He never got in any trouble. Until we sat in court under a judge who saw through him. He was warned that if I had to bring him to court again for breaking the custody order he would pay a huge fine and serve jail time and their would be another custody hearing to give me primary custody. My oldest never was under a custody order because he was already aged out. My middle son was so scared that his dad was gonna stop being his dad and move away to find another family that he did whatever dad said. He was 12 and was able to convince the judge that living with his dad was in his best interest. So he was granted custody of both of my minor children!!! My youngest was heartbroken! He was only 7. I had always been his only caregiver because his dad wanted me to abort him. Every other weekend was a happy and sad time. My middle child was so mean and defiant to me and my younger just stuck to me like glue begging me to let him stay with me!! My middle child started high school and stopped visiting and stopped talking to me unless he didn’t like something about what I was doing and he would call and cuss me out!!! He was so mean to me.
In his JR year of high school his girlfriend since his freshman year broke up with him over him constantly watching pornography. He was devastated and started reading his Bible again and praying again and going back to church when he realized how horrible he had treated me since his dad and I broke up. He called one night hysterically crying and apologizing to me begging for my forgiveness!!! I told him I have always forgiven you every time!!! I assured him my love for him was unconditional!!! We started rebuilding our relationship. He is now in his JR year of college and we have a really good relationship!!! My youngest finally got to come back to me when he was 11. It ended up being settled out of court! Now he is 14 and his dad is bullying him so much to move back that my son is just tired of constantly having to hear this every time his dad picks him up. The ride to his dads is a hour and a half and the whole time is telling him why he needs to move back with him.

Oh my gosh, the fatigue and anxiety and depression after all the , disregard, disrespect physical abuse and psychological torture. Legally don't react. Go no contact. Education about abuseand family of origin through women's support groups is crucial. Record and take notes. Act as if anything you say or do is being recorded because, trust me, the abusers and their pawns are intentionally provoking you and setting you up and recording your negative reaction.

My god, I wish I would have seen this when I went through my divorce. I am still going through the courts with my ex after being divorced for a year and a half. You have described him to a T. I am emotionally exhausted. I purposely waited to divorce until my children became young adults. It didn't matter. He never loved me, yet he never wanted me to leave. I think Tina's strategy to go to court to see how things worked and her networking skills are ingenious. It is so incredibly hard to explain to people what you experienced and how you allowed someone to treat you to the point of being mentally terrified of them without feeling shame. I just got off the phone with my attorney telling him I can't go through this battle any longer. I feel like I am losing everything. He said you're more than halfway there. I will meet with you in my office tomorrow I won't charge you for the visit. I needed to hear this more than you will ever know. Thank you.

I have no clue what I'm doing 23 years 15 in marriage 3 stays in mental facility 5 children and 19 grandchildren that don't speak to me. Friends of 40 years that think I'm crazy. Alcoholism, drug addiction, physical abuse 3 suicide attempts homeless for the last 3 years. I stood by him when he had cancer now he has 7 cars anything he knew meant anything to me. What friends I have left about 3 are starting to think I'm nuts. I educated myself you women have taught me so much I've been healing with your help for 3 years I like myself one day doubt myself but I will never think death has to be better than my life again. I need this divorce I'm broke I will get money together but I truly am doubting myself again that it will blow up in my face like every time I've had to be in court with this man I'm terrified but it's the final step I will hold that divorce decree as a badge of healing I just don't know how to present this even to an attorney and not sound nuts

My therapist stated that her own psychology professor had refused treatment to the one and only narcissist who came in for “treatment” because they themselves did not want to deal with the side effects of being around them. THAT should be enough for all of us to understand just how revolting these types of “humans” are. When someone who is trained/is currently training those who are supposed to deal with mental health disorders doesn’t even want to be near them, it’s absolutely terrifying and hilarious for those of us who have had to deal with them one on one.

  • @samanthawalding4925

Wow, I can relate to so many elements of her story. I felt/feel the same way about being in a warped reality. It seemed so different to me than other people's custody cases. It seemed different to others as well and because it was so crazy, people began questioning me and were almost accusatory as to what I was doing wrong to make things so crazy. Then I got a narcissistic Judge on top of it, and I cannot get any attorney to go to just one hearing in that jurisdiction for less than 10,000.00. That is for one hearing, with me doing all the work. I have been dealing with this for 10 years and he won, but is now being deployed in the military. So, I am going back to court to ensure I get custody of her instead of her step mother. And my daughter is 16 now. Has a job and a car. He told her I filed for custody and she basically cussed me out via text two weeks ago for making her have to deal with this and making her life hell because there would be constant fighting. She said her dad is going to take her car if I win and told me I was "using her dad's absence to manipulate the situation to my advantage", even though I specifically put in my Motion that I formally waived child support and would agree (without the stepmother even asking) to let Saylor go there one weekend a month while he was gone. I also agreed up front that I understood this was not going to be a permanent order and that he was protected by law against a permanent order being issued. My daughter was terrible to me and has not spoken to me in over 2 weeks. It hurts but I am not giving up. He has completely alienated her from me. I have done everything I can to fight but eventually I had top accept the fact that the legal system is not a justice system. I have made daily efforts to stay in her life and stay close. I had no one to help me 10 years ago and I had no idea what I was up against. I was always naieve and always willing to be the nice guy and played ethically and went out of my way to make sure I did not involve her , or even inconvenience her. They used my love for her against me and looking back, it worked brilliantly. THAT IS NOT GOING TO WORK THIS TIME. HE lied and told her that I was forcing her to testify and I told her that I would never involve her or put her in that position and that if she was told that, it not not true, I told her her testimony is not necessary and that it was between her dad and I. She said well you always told me I have a voice and I should use it, so I am am going to testify. My poor baby is completely brainwashed and while I do defend myself, I do not further stir the pot and try to point the finger at him. Even though he deserves that. A lot of people cannot understand that. But to me, it is her well being that matters. She already thinks a certain way about one of her parents. I do not want to further injure her by bad mouthing her dad. I had hoped that she would see that one day and respect me for it. But it is so hard for me in the meantime. Regardless, I will accept pain before I knowingly cause her more pain.

I 💖 you all. Ive been scared to death to go to court... You are a warrior🤗
    I just Can't function.
Dr. Ramani, I saw you 1st. I just learned about this shit 5 months ago. Couldn't believe what I was hearing. I scrolled down your video titles, & was so shocked & scared shitless, that sometimes I'd literally jumped back, shut off tablet, lay under blankets and not watch. Till next day😳, even tho I don't 😴 or eat. The past 6 months have been the worst..And it keeps getting crazier. Praying 🙏 it will finally be over June 1st. He says hes leaving my house. He said it in front of a cop, too, not that it matters. They will not help me. Last cop called a few days ago, i forgot I even left a msg, and he was so horrible to me, supposedly lieutenant, that I still can't believe it. I learned something else very bad, and tried to tell him what I found, he started arguing with me, didn't let me report the crime, and asked me about the eviction? Then, he said. You can't keep calling here, you have to do something for yourself!
I don't function, have mmd, ptsd, anxiety disorder, and I've tried to do too many things for months. So, he wins. He can leave whenever. I don't care anymore. There will be no justice for what I've endured and how my mental and physical health has declined. Over an ugly stupid tiny little mfer? But maybe..a smidgen of justice will occur. He told me he doesn't want me to know where he lives? As if!!! If he gets a knock on the door, it won't be from me..he's hacked everything. Should be safe now but if not, hope U enjoy this comment. Damn Devil 😈.

I am the grandmother to 4 children who have a narcissistic mother. She is so verbally abusive to them. To the point where the oldest child at 16 ran away from home. I eventually rented a house near her school so she could stay at school and have a safe place. The mother took me to court for kidnapping her child and as she was 16 and I was a safe place it was dismissed. So the mother has then slandered the child and me to everyone she can. Today is graduation and this girl has received awards for top in subjects. But the mother’s friend has sent her abusive texts because she didn’t invite the mother to graduation. I wish I could protect her from all the verbal abuse. There is no congratulations or offer to help with costs or anything helpful. Just abuse. I don’t understand why an adult would send an abusive text to a child that she hasn’t seen for years and knows very little about what is happening.
The children have been seen by a court appointed child advocate and his report was blah even though the oldest girl and her sister told of them types of abuse they are under.
I really would like someone to actually see these kids and see the damage that is being done. The second child talks to me about running away as well but is scared that her mother will hate her too. It is so confusing for a child to not understand that real love is unconditional. They feel they have to please their mother so she will keep loving them.
I listen to your podcasts but they are often the men who are the narcissist and he becomes abusive. But what about when it is the mother and the weapon is manipulating the children to hurt the father.
