Its a shame Mamou, Ville Platte, Eunice all run down, From Mamou raised in Ville Platte and when I left for good in 1985, I never envisioned how run down it would be in 30 years, breaks my heart every time I go back to visit
Richard, at about the 3 min mark you can see The Jitney Jungle and the house just to the left was my grandparents house. My grandfather ran the store and the station at one time. My Grand mother would make flowers , baskets, and all kind of stuff and sell them out of the little round room in the front of their home. She was super talented in crocheting also. Thanks for all you have done. Great job.

Yes, Hotel Cazan is still there and 100 % restored. It is bautiful thesedays.
I built the post office parking lot about 1972 or 1973. I stayed in the hotel Cazan for about 3 weeks. We came up from Algiers.
