Which one do you think is right for you? TSA Precheck or Global Entry? Leave a comment and let me know! Also, all links are in the description! Thank you for watching!
Thank you for giving such a great explanation and comparison of the two programs. I have been considering getting TSA pre check and this really helps.
Thank you, Cynthia! Oh good! I'm so glad it helped! 💕
Thank you for your thorough and accurate information! It was very informative. Also, just a side note, you have really gorgeous teeth!!! I kept being distracted by how beautiful your teeth look.
Thank you for watching! 💕 Hahaha Aww thank you! That's so kind of you. I had braces for four years, all through HS. Got made fun of a lot before then because my teeth were so crooked. I guess they were worth it. 😂
I think Global Entry is a better buy- it’s $15 more, that’s 3 dollars more a year.
Oooohhhh yes! I love how you broke that down to yearly! Only $3 more a year! Wow! What a steal. I love Global Entry!
Awesome video, very helpful, thanks!!! I definitely would love to see a video on what to expect at global entry interview.
Thank you for watching! Awesome! I think I will do it! haha 💕
Thanks for this video.
Thank YOU for watching! Hope it was helpful! 💕
GE is better for people that travel internationally often. Some of the CC that pay for it as a benefit are the CSR , the Amex platinum, the Delta Amex platinum , the Amex Marriott card and some United cards. Usually cards that have a higher AF. I am surprised that you are not on the points and miles game considering that you travel a lot. It sure does help with the travel costs when we use the CC responsibly.
Thank you for this, Martina! Yes, my parents are into the points and rewards and my mom has gotten quite a few free flights as she travels a ton for work. I just know myself too well. hahaha There is zero cc responsibility for me. haha If I get an inch, I may just take a mile. I got into some credit card debt in my early 20s and have since paid that and my student loans off and have strived to live as close to a debt free life as I can. It isn't for everyone and I do believe like you said that people can use credit cards responsibly, I know I'm just not one of them. 😂😂😂
@@KRodCollective understood! Yeah I got myself into an 8k debt myself a long time ago but paid it off. Then I discovered travel rewards card and I use them as debit card, so I only use what I can pay off. I don't carry debt and been debt free for a while now. I have gotten so much value out of my travel cards but yeah I completely agree, if people can't use them responsibly then it is better not to use them. Great content btw.
Oh I love that Martina! I absolutely love that you got yourself out and found a way that works for you. Yes!! I agree, the travel rewards can be so beneficial! 💕Thank you for watching and commenting!
Yessss definitely would love to see a video on what to expect at global entry interview. GREAT video and detail! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much for watching, Emily!
You said you dont use credit cards! If that true please share with us how you run your big financial projects like buying house or car or paying for medical bills or buying furniture etc. Thank you.
Hi there!! I try my best not to. haha If I do, for whatever reason, I make sure to pay it off right away. Me and credit cards don't mix. haha The short answer to that is I don't have any big financial projects right now. haha I don't own a house yet. 🤷🏾♀️
Great video, but I didn't get what benefit the global entry afforded. Is it just precheck for internationals from specific countries? Meaning you have a shorter line to go thru, but still must go thru customs? Or is it only for the exit from the US part of the trip? I am from the US but live in Germany and travel between the 2 annually.
Hey there! Yes, so the benefits are: 1: Automatic TSA pre-check, 2: No paperwork (meaning, you don't have to fill out a customs card on the plane when you are RETURNING to the US). 3: Yes, you still must go through customs, but you get to skip the line which reduces your waiting time. 4: You can get expedited entry benefits for A COUPLE other countries like Mexico and Australia. So it's primarily beneficially for when you are returning to the US. It might be good for you since you go btwn the US and Germany twice annually. I didn't have GE when I lived in Spain and would come back and forth btwn Spain and the US, but I really wish I had. But definitely weigh the pros and cons and see if it's beneficial for you personally. Hope this helps! 💕
Your video is good but the background noise is distracting.
Oh no! Sorry! 😩😭
@@KRodCollective I love your videos too but I have noticed I have an auditory processing when there’s this kind of music in a video behind someone talking. It’s not a preference, I just have a really difficult time listening to what you’re saying.
I just thought I’d let you know. 😊
@@stellashepherd3229 Thank you Stella! I’m so sorry! I appreciate this. Yes, I think the music is far too loud and distracting and I’ve gotten that feedback quite a few times. In some of the newer videos, if I do use music, I try to keep it very low and or I’m not using music at all. I can’t change them in these videos, but I’m aware now moving forward because I hate that it’s so distracting for people. 😫Thanks everyone for the feedback! ❤️
Hey Kim I jus had a couple questions I’m a new traveler this would be my first time flying on a plane anywhere nevertheless traveling outside of the U.S I was just wondering do I need a drivers license for tsa precheck ? im going to Mexico for my bday in July & im planning my trip by myself any suggestions? & are their any documents I’d need to know about other than the online fmm & printed boarding pass ? Also confused on how do I write and print my itinerary I want to go snorkeling & zipling when I get there atleast one of the days I’m there I’ll be there for 4 days
Hi Cassea! Yes, you need a driver's license for TSA Precheck. Have you applied for it yet? Make sure you check the entry requirements for Mexico. I'm not sure, but they may have covid-specific requirements like a PCR test or something like that. But I'm not positive, a few countries have lifted these requirements, but I'm not sure if Mexico has or not. I think I need more info though, when you say write and print your itinerary, do you mean for your trip as a whole? Or your boarding pass? Also, check out my friend Alex at Backpacking Brunette here on RUclips! She is a Mexico expert and might have better, more specific tips for you too! 💕
LUGGAGE TIPS 1, 2, 3, 4
Tie two or three colored ribbons around the handle to your luggage to warn others that this is not their luggage. People grab luggage at the turnstile and take it home before you ever see it.
Anywhere you put your bag, it could be grabbed in error. Example: overhead compartment, unloaded from the bus, at the hotel lobby, at the airport turnstile...
These ribbons make your luggage different and EASY TO SPOT when the piece is surrounded by 35 other cases unloaded from the bus.
Use 1” wide ribbons 14” long and not longer. Cut the ends at 45 degrees.
Tie the 3 ribbons as a sandwich, as if they were one ribbon. Use a man’s tie, a half Windsor knot for the best look. After it is tied on, the total length of the ribbons will be about 5 inches from the handle. This is too short to catch on anything.
Scissor cut trim the ribbons to cascading different lengths after they are tied. Put a drop of Super Glue at the end.
If each ribbon is slightly a different length by 1/4” the color layers will all show up no matter how they drape.
You can see this ribbon from 40 feet away. Perhaps tie TWO handles or RINGS top and side of the case. Tie using a HALF WINDSOR KNOT to the metal buckle ring of the handle.
Half Windsor knot tying:
ruclips.net/video/S_ny-hrKqzU/видео.html
This knot does not loosen.
Put your phone number on one ribbon using a fine point permanent Sharpie.
Example: “Owner 454-333-7878”
No personal name necessary.
No address necessary on the ribbon.
Choose one ribbon with an unusual pattern or fabric to really make it unique.
Stand by the output port of the turnstile to reduce the chance of someone else grabbing your piece.
Tie your skiies, duffel bag, backpack and what ever else with matching ribbons-even your computer case.
If you are a Travel Agent, you could hot gold stamp one ribbon with your name and phone number. Send them a set of ribbons, red and blue and BLACK to your customer as a gift. Record this gift in your database so you don’t duplicate yourself.
Buy a gold hot embossing machine. Gold emboss your business name on the BLACK ribbon. Put the customer’s name on it if possible.
Pleasant color combinations:
Red and blue
Chartreuse and purple
Orange and light blue
Orange and yellow
Gray and pink
Green and yellow
Red and Green
Red and Gold
Light blue and light green
The third ribbon could be white, gray, black, tan
Tip #2 Take a cell phone picture of the ribbon tied on. Then another picture of the full luggage piece. You now have a way to communicate “what it looks like” if someone is tasked with searching for it. Take this picture outside in direct sun.
Tip #3 Place a strip of colored duct tape on the inside lining to your case. Put TWO pieces in DIFFERENT places such as INSIDE a pocket to the case. If you dare, put your phone number DIRECTLY ON THE FABRIC WITHOUT USING TAPE. Or, put your name and phone number on this tape. If all identity is stripped from your case, you have this to show. If someone steals it and rips off identity tags, you can show the police officer the inside tape...
To be sneaky about the tape, put your phone number on the STICKY side of the tape. Nothing is on the surface side of this tape.
Tip #4
Put your phone number on a 2” x3/4” piece of fabric or plastic sheet. Use colored Duct tape, such as black or red or neon, to tape this message to the top side of the handle. The lettering does not touch the sticky part. Wrap it 2-3 times. Also include Tips 1&2 above.
The most perfect tips! I love these so much! 😍
Great tips thank you!!
How long does global entry take?
Hey Kim! Do you mean the process? Or how long it lasts?
@@KRodCollective I mean the time from when I submit my application to when I get approval. I've heard mixed answers. 😳 some say a couple days but the website says up to 6 months
Ah yes! It used to be A LOT quicker before the pandemic. It took me a little over a year. But that was because covid hit hard right before my interview and everything got shut down. And I was even lucky to get the interview I did get, because it was the very last one available. I don’t know know how long it would take now. I think a lot of it depends on the State. Maybe 6 months (or even longer) is about right. It does take them a bit of time to process your application and do a background check.
