I kid you not. I got 48 miles to the gallon on my ‘24 lxs on a recent trip! You can’t beat that for the $21,415 price tag. Oh, and State Farm insured me with no issues. I’m sold.
I have a little LXS, and it's a fantastic little car! It has great features, it's very comfortable, extremely practical, good on fuel and not the worst when it comes to performance. Unfortunately, mine was broken into (you can probably guess why), and I ended up with a Corolla for 2 weeks. The Corolla is great, but I just missed my little Forte. Not to mention I felt the Corolla was a little bit louder and the insulation wasn't as good. Also it took a second every tike you hit the gas and would take ages to accelerate. Fortunately, I have been reunited with my Forte and all is well 😊
Oh wow sorry to hear that, did you get back your same Forte that was broken into or did your insurance company give you money for a new Forte? And yea my friend I agree, Toyota products are some of the loudest in their class not sure why they don't use some engine insulation etc. Forte is nice
Just got the forte gt with all the bells and whistles. I had a 2020 gt line and both of these cars are fantastic. The turbo engine I have now gets like 39 miles to the gallon as long as I drive it gingerly
I just bought the 24 GT-Line less then 2 weeks ago. It's INCREDIBLE on fuel mileage. I'm averaging 47-49 MPG in the economy mode.. Mostly highway driving. I had a 20 mile drive, where I hit 52 MPG!! It feels great. I love and use all of the standard features in this trim. The few issues that I noticed with it, can be updated in software. When using the lane assist with the auto steering feature, if there is an exit coming up or a turning lane opening up, the car wants to follow the solid white line on the right. So, the auto-steering needs more time in development. Perhaps a tie-in with the navigator to have the car follow the centre line instead of mainly the right solid line, when the lane spacing increases to accomodate an exit or a turning lane. The navigation system's saved locations are not searchable based on how I have repeated locations labelled. Since I travel for work, I have over 120 locations that I constantly call on. I would like to search as I would any other location, with the ability to just search saved locations. The 1 to 4 car length to hold spacing while in criuse control is too close. Four car lengths should be minimum, not the maximum. The car's radar can aquire a vehicle in front of me at least 10 car lengths ahead of me. So, having a 4 to 8 car length seperation while in cruise, where my car will slow down to match the speed of the vehicle in front, is a lot safer and smarter. Otherwise, I love the car. it's totally quiet. You can bearly hear it. Somethimes I think that it's an EV.
Thank you so much Kevin for reviewing affordable new cars and for including destination when stating prices! Crazy how an almost fully loaded 2024 Kia Forte GT Line is around the same price as a 2024 Toyota Corolla LE and yet the Forte GT Line has so much more features & amenities!
You’re more than welcome my friend I’m happy to cover these cars as I believe this segment is paramount with current high priced new and used cars along with high interest rates. And yes Forte is def great value compared to its peers! Thanks again for your love and support!
Though all these videos are very informative I would like to see more videos with baseline cars, which is what many people on a budget are really looking for. Almost every video shows top-of-the-line cars in their class.
Just had my brand new 2023 Forte GT-Line w/ Tech Package totaled when stopped at a red light... ended up getting an upgrade to the 2024 model. I was pleasantly surprised to see I actually got some extra safety and navigation features as standard for the GT-Line. Would have been nice to have the wireless charger (to remind me to take my phone with me...) and moonroof, but I wasn't prepared to go beyond my means. I fucking love this car and I want to love it, even when finances get tight.
Not a 2024, however, I do own a 2016 Kia Forte. Owned it for 6 years of it's 8 year life. It's been a pretty bulletproof vehicle and have only done the basic maintenance (Oil, filters, etc) plus new break pads once and 2 sets of tires since I do mostly highway driving. It just surpassed 110K miles. I have, HOWEVER, done some other research and have reconsidered trading in and upgrading to the newer Fortes mostly because they are all being manufactured in Mexico (the dealerships nearby all show the VINs online and each one is Mexico made). My current 2016 Forte VIN shows it was manufactured in Korea. Watched a Scotty Kilmer video with him going over a 2015 Forte, I believe, with close to 250K miles and having zero issues (also made in Korea), versus the new ones with larger engines, more tech, that CVT trans and so on that don't seem AS reliable. I think the takeaway would be to just keep an eye on any Kia that's ACTUALLY still being produced in Korea via the VIN numbers.
I have had a few Forte’s as rentals and they have always been an impressive ride. The base 2.0 engine performs much better than the figures suggest. It’s a very good looking sedan.
I just rented a 2024 Forte then a 2024 Corolla and there's no competition. The Corolla is actually quite crude by comparison with a noise, jittery ride and a tech interface that is crude by comparison. Both cars were basically new (fewer than 5,000 miles). The Forte felt nice for its price point while the Corolla felt cheap.
i have a 2024 LXS. I get 40-50 on the highway. I actually got just over 51 mpg one week driving highway alone. it also has plenty of power to get on the highway as quick as I need to go.
Having gotten rid of my Infiniti and currently leasing a Sonata NLine and about to lease a GV70 Sport, the Hyundai Group has my undivided attention. Even that Forte GT has me impressed in terms of value for the package in comparison of its segment. - Dope analysis as always.
Maintain it and drive it right and it will last. It’s a great looking sedan. I have always enjoyed the Forte when I’ve had them as rentals. Don’t let numbers fool you….147 horsepower in this, hooked up to their cvt makes for a pretty good daily driver. No, it is not a racing car, but you are not paying racing car money for it.
My car is safe from thieves. It has 2 alarm systems using different batteries, a steel plate over the computer port, a custom made brake pedal lock, and it’s parked in the locked garage. Too many people do almost nothing to protect their cars.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your strategies, hopefully others can implement this as well and I agree, taking preventative action can save a lot of headaches in the future
I just purchased a 2024 Kia Forte GT (auto transmission), and so far, I could not be happier! I was astonished how much car you can get for the money!! Loaded with features, including all the latest in technology. It's also an extremely attractive car. I had no problem securing insurance through Liberty Mutual, however my annual premium doubled. Having said that, I must point out that my previous car was 14 years old, so I realize insurance will generally be less expensive. I purchased my new Forte from Premier Kia of Carlsbad (CA). They were a referral through the Costco Auto Purchase Program. The dealership is phenomenal! My buying experience was very good, as has been support so far. I will say they are the second dealership referred by Costco. The first was a NIGHTMARE--Ball Kia in National City, CA. I reported them back to Costco, and then proceeded with Premier. Best decision ever.
I bought a new '21 Forte GT (auto-GT2 package) off the lot.. just hit 35k miles. I've mostly had no issues and a great car for daily use. I was surprised to get about 34mpg combined, and 40mpg on the highway. The only two issues I've had were around the 3k mark I notice my passenger window only worked intermittently, same for the both rears - a very big bummer at the time. I dealership replaced the rears motors (the switch was good) under warranty and havent had a issues since. I was not able to get the passenger window motor replaced because was working at the time, but has worked without issue for the last 18 months or so. The second issues, is the DCT does "slip" from time to time/pop out of gear momentarily. Not very often, maybe 15 times over 35,000 miles. Usually in the 2nd to 3rd shift. Not very enjoyable, but only last a second or two - but kinda concerning for longevity and I've seen other people experience this. Outside of the unrefined nature of the transmission at lower speeds its good, the ride quality on the GT package is a little firm but not bad, I wish I could turn off the pumped in exhaust noise, I hate how my screen is interrupted every time I go into sport mode (wish that was adjustable) - still I would recommend for a affordable but still peppy car with most features you could ask for. (GT - GT2 package)
I have a 24 Kia Forte. Love this whip! I like to drive to make my money so it's not that great on my height (I'm 6'2) but it has great mpg fuel economy and I recommend it for day to day travel and gig life.
I own a 2023 Kia Forte GT2 😎🔥💯 and it's awesome 😎 it's a beautiful car and for car enthusiastic people like me there's plenty of aftermarket parts available for this model and it really changes the way this car feels and handle in a better way
I have a 2022 forte gt2, and its a pretty good bang for the buck car. I fuel efficient, relatively quick, has tons of features, etc. My only gripe with the car is the piss poor dct. Sure its fun when you step on it, and thats about the only positive thing i can say about it. Ive had my dct replaced 3 times already under warranty. These transmissions are so problematic at the dealerships are stock piling them for replacements. The first couple times i had it replaced i had to wait weeks each time. Now, they've said next time it goes they'll have one ready for me. That tells me theyre anticipating it failing again, and too be honest i do feel it slipping and shifting funny already, again. With all of that said, this car is amazing, with the huge exception of the piss poor dct. Im glad kia/hyundia discontinued it going forward.
They did discontinue it on the new Kona and Kia Seltos, however it's still on the 2024 Forte GT. The reason, if I ever get a Forte GT, it will most certainly be the manual. The only real equipment that's lacking on the manual compared to the GT2 pkg is the power seat, ventilated seat, ambient lighting, and adaptive cruise. I really would like the adaptive cruise, but not worth chancing it with the 7spd dry DCT, which continues to be a problem even after the Hyundai Tuscon class action lawsuit with the same powertrain.
The typical things like Google Reviews and Facebook reviews. Bad news speaks loudest so if there's someone who had an issue and warranty/dealer didn't cover it, then you know they will post a 1 star review in ALL CAPS to let everyone know.
I went to the dealerships after watching your videos and the Toyota Corolla LE is about 4 to 5 k more then the Kia forte lxs and my insurance would be about 25 bucks more. I just need to save up at least half of the price so I could get a better deal
why in Canada the Kia Forte is much cheaper than other cars, for example if we take a 2018 Toyota Corolla with X mileage and we take a 2018 Kia Forte with the same X mileage, we will see that Kia costs much less than Toyota ??
I still would not get a turbo charged engine on any kia or hyundai car, the smaller engines are fine with proper maintenance but the bigger ones are still a gamble.
This is very true the Nissan, Hyundai, Kia trio are def exhibiting BAE I can see all of these brands doing 800 mph on the freeway this behavior is less so with Honda, Toyota, & Mazda
Hi Kevin, thanks for a great content. A first-time car owner myself, I just bought an Orange Fire GT Line (with Premium Package) a few days ago and loving every bit of it! One question that I could seem to be able to find a precise answer for, hoping you can help. Is GT Line supposed to come with audio alert / warning beeps for front and back-up sensors? Dealership already said No, but I want to verify. Thank you!
Massive congrats my friend on the new Forte! Def a great first car. I think the dealer is right, there aren't any audible tones for the Forte not even the K5 GT-Line has that from what I read on a forum
good review, why? because he talked about the truth. most of the reviewers they were talking about how good how technology the car was which now these days cars all built into it
Hope you are doing awesome Kevin. This would be an awesome car with almost hybrid levels of fuel economy. Just a heads up I insure my Hyundai through progressive but I live in the world Midwest I'm not sure if it makes a difference or not or is only certain areas that you can get insured in
The Kia Forte LXS msrp is about $20,490 plus freight is about $21,500 but they wanted $27,000 at the dealership in Hilton Head, South Carolina, they have $5,500 in bogus fees and markups, it is not an affordable cheap car, it cost the same as a Honda Civic, so I went and bought a Honda Civic Sport 2024, The Forte is a good car, don't get me wrong but if it cost the same as a Civic, I won't buy it. It is like the difference between iPhone and Android, the brand. The Civic is much more car with a big resale value compared to the Forte.
I mean you can't really say that after going to just one scamming dealership. Down the street at another dealership they might even be discounting Kia Fortes without any fees so the Forte goes back to being a great value. Always shop around and the internet is your friend when it comes to research
@@MeynMotorGroup I went to the dealership in Savannah, Georgia and then I drove to the dealership in Hilton Head, South Carolina about one hour away and it was the same shit. I have owned Kia’s all my life that I bought from those dealerships a few years ago and they ruined it. I can sent you a picture of the window sticker, it was unbelievable, on a good note, the Honda Civic Sport is an amazing car that will hold its value for the same price of a stupid Kia Forte.
Yes I agree, the Honda Civic is the android and the Forte is the iphone. You can get a 2024 KIA Forte LXS without any bogus fees or markups. I Did, and I'm not a good car buyer. The KIA fortes on the lot did not have any extra fees or markups on the sticker. I love this car it is so easy to drive and easy on my wallet.
@@NatureBoy12100 I went to my dealership in Savannah Georgia and then I drove to the dealership in Hilton Head South Carolina, same mark ups and bogus fees, the LXS was $27000, I went and bought a Honda Civic Sport out of the door for $27500, that car is Amazing.
At 20k, you really are getting about as basic as it gets. The warranty is great, hard to argue against another 5k to the Corolla. Are they as good as Toyota, one coukd argue both sides.
Well, my frame of reference is skewed because of time on the planet. With that said, I remember buying a new Honda Accord loaded at 10k in 1988, and it seemed a ridiculous price. So, the numbers are relative, I suppose, and that Accord to this day remains one of the best cars I ever owned at any price. I'm getting old and rambling, great review Kevin.
@@jeffamburgey7485 wow $10k in 88? In 1995 a base Corolla started at $14k it’s crazy how you can get a loaded Accord in 88 for $4k less. That is some serious inflation taking place between the 80s and 90s and I believe it, none of these new cars can touch the feeling and connection of 80s, 90s, and early 2000s vehicles. Even the economy cars back then are more fun to drive than modern day high end cars
@@jeffamburgey7485 I'm seeing loaded Accord prices around 15k almost 16k for the original MSRP back in 88 for a LX trim Sedan did you get a big discount or buy a loaner car at the time to get the price down to $10k?

I ♥ MY 2021 KIA F0RTE FE WITH A 6SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION.. I WILL BE 72 S00N..
Such a good car and has a duel clutch, better driving funner to drive. Everything is a CVT now and they are not fun to drive and less reliable.
Less reliable than the Hyundai/Kia 7spd dry clutch DCT? You might want to research that a little more.
If they would put an independent suspension in all trims they would have a real winner.
That would be a nice touch could help with rear occupant ride quality improvement
Reliable ?
good review, why? because he talked about the truth.
most of the reviewers they were talking about how good how technology the car was which now these days cars all built into it
something as simple as a buildup of leaves near a hot catalytic coverter can cause a fire in any car
Hope you are doing awesome Kevin. This would be an awesome car with almost hybrid levels of fuel economy. Just a heads up I insure my Hyundai through progressive but I live in the world Midwest I'm not sure if it makes a difference or not or is only certain areas that you can get insured in
Valuable info my friend thanks for sharing! Def something a future customer should look into and see how their region is affected
Rural oops
Yo bro Happy weekend 🫡🤝😎👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks bro you as well!
At 20k, you really are getting about as basic as it gets. The warranty is great, hard to argue against another 5k to the Corolla. Are they as good as Toyota, one coukd argue both sides.
Yea I really don’t want to go above LXS with this because anything over $21k you can buy other brands
No, I traded in a 74 Eldorado that got 8 mpg. The total price of the car was 14 or 15k, it's been a while.
CVT is a non-starter.
These cars get stolen a lot or what?
Don’t like CVT
