Wanted to clarify the "temperature issue" 215 is the normal operating temp. The cooling fan should be running on high when a/c is on and you're in traffic at operating temp. Disconnect the main connector to fans. Tighten all pins and add stable it 22 or GM PCM Grease dielectric grease , the first two are better. I would not change my thermostat to a lower temperature unless you want the check engine light on and lower your fuel mileage and also damage your catalytic converter over time. The front end #1 problem is the upper control arms and the struts. all Chrysler sedans also the Challenger have this issue because it's typical the same platform. Most of them have this problem by about 90,000 miles.. the throttle body problem is the pedal position sensor where the lightning bolt comes on the dash which is common mostly around 05 .06 The engine noise or tapping ticking noise is mainly due to people not changing the oil right or using the proper oil. Use exactly what it came with and stay will in the recommended mileage interval. It's not the lifters, it's not the camshaft it's not the valves, it's not the valve seats for sure. What happens is, the rollers on the rockers get wallowed out , almost always in the very rear cylinders typically on the passenger side usually the last two cylinders. Pretty easy fix . No heads to be pulled at all just the valve cover and there's a trick to get them out they cost $20 a piece I usually replace about four. I have an 06 Hemi C 188k and I've only replaced the struts, links and upper control arms. Another way to get life out of cooking fan is keep your condenser and radiator clean and free of bugs and debris use electric motor cleaner once in a while to get out some abrasion. Air compressor helps a lot. Good luck. Clean your throttle body every 30k
@mrmauricebrownable I have one like his, and my radiator fan just tore apart and slammed into the radiator, destroying it, ...just like he said in the video!
I have owned 8 of the 300c -Hemi cars since 2005. My current model is a 2019 300c platinum. I did put on approx 2000,00 km every year until I bought my 2017 which my wife drives now. The only problem I have ever had was bad strut tensioners. I fixed that by putting Mevotech tensioners which are greaseable but you do have to get an alignment when you install them. Zero engine problems --BUT I change my synthetic oil every 5,000 miles and did in all my previous ones. I highly recommend these cars.
Mercedes suspension. Probable cause of the suspension problems is the weight of the car. I have a 2014 300 AWD, it weighs over 4200 lbs. Very few of the land yachts of the 50's and 60's weighed more. Something to think about: When I drove cars from the 60's and 70's ball joint and tie rod replacement was a 50k miles thing, now we complain about 100k mile failure. Progress has been made.
2006 srt8 owned for 7 years: snapped driveshafts off at the hub went with getrag lsd and uprated drive shafts, had the gremlins in the electrics after cleaning EVERY plug, module, fusebox, found a broken wire in the ignition module, pink thing that locks it in park is mega common and just happened, master cylinder just went internally and lost brakes!! Suspension all polybushed with pedders after 2lots of standard arms all round, shocks unevenly self balencing, replaced with bc coil overs, dipstick snapped, sunroof decided to POUR water in and tried for weeks to get it sealed, siloconed it up and now have a moon roof instead. Various issues that have been a pain more than issues, but one hell of a beast!!! This thing scares anyone within a mile radius on start up and if ur next to me in a tunnel then kiss good bye to ear drums. Biggest issue i have is in the uk getting parts, nearly all come from the states apart from a few good companies over here. Fuel consumption isnt bad for what it is, steady drive on cruise at 65mph returns approx 30mpg. Have not go to throw this car about, its power if u need it and ohhhhh baby i need it, one squirt of the naughty peddal and ur hooked!
This guy knows his stuff 😂 my fans broke at 156,000 miles (a week after I bought it. And I started having throttle body issues and the lighting bolt comes on (on windy roads for some reason.) the left driver door on my car is not allign with the rest of the car bc it's the most used. But I fixed all these issues. LISTEN TO THIS GUY
the 300 and Dodge Magnum are both on the Daimler LX platform. Identical vehicles inside and out with exception of front facia and rear roof. I love both vehicles. Suspension is horrible in both, and go out often. Every few years I was replacing them all. That engine is a monster for power for the vehicle, and the interior is graciously spacious. I put magna flow cats muffler and pipes on my 300 and that sound.... oh that sound. I wish they made newer magnums though. I was hit head on by a minivan going 50 and I was going 40... front end damaged up to the pulleys on the engine and hood buckled. Rest of the car stayed immaculate and intact. Airbag deployed as it should. Walked away scratchless. Thinking about cutting the front frame and putting a 300 front end on it. Seen some like it, and it's pretty wicked. I am proof that the 5 star crash rating is not a fluke. Something else... only one keyhole on the entire vehicle(s)... driver's side door. You will be up s@it creek if you lose the madter key, as the spare does not open the door ~ it only starts the ignition. And if the battery dies, you will not get in your vehicle... happened to me, and had to call AAA to pop the door. Ok, I paused the video at 4:31 just to comment, now going back to the video.
I stopped locking it. I need to pull the lock in the door and just put in another. I kept the panel over the back latch uncovered... A string in it would be easy, but it does need a lock core to help. It's easy enough to just add another key to the vehicle and have one for doors and one for ignition... But currently, I just don't lock it at all
I have a 2005 Chrysler 300 with the 5.7 HEMI. I bought it from the original owner at 181K miles, in 2012. The engine blew at 293K miles. I had done regular and additional maintenance, so I knew otherwise the car was in very good shape. I made the decision to put in a complete rebuilt engine in the car. $5,500 later and the car is running great!I. I have over 333K miles on the car now. I have replaced front suspension part multiple times. It eats front suspension parts every 3 years. I've replaced all major components except for the transmission. Yes, I have replaced the driveshaft. I have also replaced the fans, as one of them burned up, and the other wasn't cooling the engine while stopped in traffic. I've also replaced the radiator. I have not replaced the throttle body, but that may have been replaced be the original owner. The car is comfortable, and even if I have to put $2-3K in it each year to keep it running great, it's much less than buying a new one!
But with doing that your fans run even more. Now I changed to the lower tstat at about 90k in my 06 srt8 and have the diablo tuner so changed when all of my fans engage. I have not had to replace the fans yet at 123k
It shouldn't cause the fans to run more. Pretty sure the only reason they would run more is if the tstat you put in was a higher temp than OE. A a cooler running engine should utilize the fans less.
Well it does tell you to program the fan to engage 20 degrees lower at every aspect meaning Idol running and all that after lowering your teeth at the 182 in order to keep the temperature down all together now I see what you're saying as well but as far as what Diablo recommended with their tuner is to have the fans engage 20 degrees cooler
2009 Chrysler 300 by 3.5 with 172k miles....I've owned it for 4 years and I have replaced the radiator at around 155k but not the fans...I just replaced the fuel pump..the front control arms..the front rod ends..and the esp/bas/stoplight switch issue and a sticking/ticking lifter are my current issues (ticking stops after the oil/car has warmed up).... It's a great car and I love it...and over time most great things fall apart...but boy has this been a mission to keep up...oh and also the rattling suspension when on bumpy roads...Thanks for this video...stay awesome!!!💙💙💙
Having the same issues with my 2010 300s 🤦🏾♂️. I replaced the fan today my question is if it over heat again should I replace the radiator even tho it's not leaking?
07 300C Hemi, bought in 2015, have already had engine rebuilt year after purchased. My mechanic told me Chrysler has a defect in their Hemi, go figure, its just like you said in your video, mines a 5.7.anyway, most of what you have discussed I have had. Radiator replaced twice, cooling fan disintegrated basically had to replace as well. Alternator, battery replaced, shifting lever piece, cost me $13.00, for a small little plastic piece had to replace within the shifter (got stuck in park). Suspension work here and there, Engine rebuild cost me $2800, another mechanic wanted to give me another defected engine for $6600 (WTF?) rebuild was best way to go. I have put some money into keeping it on the road, however, No Car Payment, so i would say I am just fine with a repair every now and then. Happy Camper!
Yea same I say the cost to get it to almost 100% is worth it because of the no payment thing , lol became a RUclips mechanic to save myself a bucks 🤣 but I need the experience so I can see why a power steering cooling in a Durango cost $349 🤣 took me 30 mins to get the job done
Suspension is always my issue,,,every 7 to 8 months I end up getting ball joints,,tie rods,, bushings,,etc,, I hate it,, but I have my car since it was new,, in 2006,, and it runs like new,,,❤️👍💯,,thank you for ur upload,,
Hey bro read my comment. I drive a 6.1 SRT8 with a procharger on it since new and it has 93,000 miles daily driver in Arizona and it's been almost perfect. So basically it's the 6.1 is what you should get. it is more of a simple lighter high-revving designed it's been more reliable and has some German Mercedes influence even runs stock 0-40 oil on the cap from factory.
Just buy one if you like them, I’ve had mine 5 yrs, I’d never owned a vehicle more than 2yrs before getting a 300, yeah it’s a pain sometimes but most modern cars suffer somewhere
Ryan Thompson thing is tho these cars are cheap as chips in comparison to a challenger, charger, merc etc, they’re currently rock bottom price in 🇬🇧 Uk, if other cars are anything to go by then their values are likely to pick up soon
I’ve got a 2010 limited with 145 000 km. Awesome car. I bought it at 100 000 and it had a pinched window washer hose wrong with it. Problem I have is visibility. Worse of any car I’ve ever driven. I love my car. Respect it and what’s around you are you come out alive.
I have a 2006 Chrysler 300C with the 5.7L engine and the only issue I’ve had here was #3 the whole suspension needed to be replaced. But so far nothing else has happened here on this list and I’m at 166k miles now
Same with mine sway bar bushing ball joints tie rods and struts other than that no issues 15 yrs and 189k miles probably one of the most reliable cars I ever owned
I have been thinking about getting the 2006 chrysler 300C it's also done 160k on the clock but I asked my local auto service for advice and he laughed at me and said it will be a big mistake..should I get it looked at first before purchasing..like are they pricey to maintain
2007 300C 186k miles Replaced: Two sets of front struts. Outer tie rods about 3 or 4 total. Inner tie rods are original and still in great shape. Upgraded to full disc slotted and drilled brake set powerstop. KN Cold Air. Oil Sensor. Driver side door handle. Alternator. Battery. Parking selector switch broke had to Jerry rig it(little pink switch thing broke where the spring attaches under the shifter). Tension Arms and swaybar/stabilizer bushings twice. Pain in the ass those are. Some driveway bodywork between fender and bumper. Water pump replaced by the shop. Is now leaking from front engine area hoping it's a hose. Valve cover gaskets. Upper control arms. Lower main ball joints are in need of replacement. The TICK is getting louder. Power steering is groaning. Laying underneath I can see some beginning leakage of oil near head gaskets with a flashlight. Rear license plate wire short behind bumper cover. Water leak from trunk lid seal. Rear axle cover seal needs replaced. Transmission never even checked it yet. Check TPM system code every drive. Etc. Etc. But... Still starts up and gets on it every day. Sounds amazing when I open it up. Average about 19mpg for 350hp big body that I paid 14k for on 2/14/14 at 72k. I'll drive it til it breathes no more
2011 V6 with 198k miles and not a single issue of any kind - greatest vehicle I've ever owned mechanically. I've had to replace oil pressure sensor for 40 bucks and the license plate/tag light bulb! :-) Finally replaced factory brake pads at 180k along with spark plugs, serpentine and complete fluid change at that same time just because I felt I should. Compliments on its looks and ride A LOT even at 10 years old!
I wish the engineers of your 2011 V6 were around to build my 300C. My 5.7 V8 only has 57K miles, and it is now displaying a host of mechanical issues. About to arrange a service appointment. I am hopeful that I do not get hosed by dealer service.
Owned a 2007 300 with 120000 miles on it before I traded it in. The only issues were air conditioning(pump, I believe), a leaky sun roof, a non working middle tail light assy and an engine light came on just before trade-in in 2019. It had the standard 6 in it. Over all a great reliable car. The 2015 replacement only seems to have an issue with a wheel sensor(ABS/TRACTION) fault. Reccomendation: Get the bumper to bumper CHRYSLER 5 year warranty.
2008 AWD Chrysler 300c 5.7L with 134k miles on it. I'm the original owner. The worst problems were (1) TIPM failed AFTER my warranty and had dealer replace for a lot of money! (2) I've had to replace tie rods multiple times. along with other front suspension components (3) Replaced the condenser (part that sits in front of the radiator) at 128k, and shortly after that the cooling fans exploded and I had to replace both the radiator and fan assembly. Only other issue I had to fix (under warranty) was recirculation fan at 65k miles because windows would constantly fog. The only things that still need to be fixed are (1) the driver side rear shock - its the Nivomat self-leveling shock which costs between $250-350 per shock! and (2) front & rear CV shafts; they are not bad, but the rubber boots are broken open and I know its only a matter of time before they get clogged with debris and start causing a clunking noise when making turns in the car. Thank God the 2008 300 models came with a lifetime powertrain warranty. My dealership told me the CV axles would be covered under this warranty when they eventually fail.
I have a 2007 Chrysler 300C with 5.7 liter engine. With 78K miles the problems I've had include 3 of 4 door handles broke, shifter broke and couldn't get it out of park, replaced hood and trunk supports and under carriage pan below engine broke loose which i fixed easily. The car is well taken care of and looks as new as the day we bought it new. I love driving the car and the style has stayed fresh. If you look at other cars from 2007 they look old.
I’ve faced issues with my front end numerous times with ball joint replacements, sway bar replacements, and new struts. The throttle body was a quick replacement but did end up going around 125,000 miles. the heat shield also gave me issues. Fantastic vehicle and super comfortable, but these issues seem to be common
@@leonardc2234 Audibly, it was a whirring noise coming from the engine bay while on the road. Mechanically, the car ran high on idle and had a C/E light. after inspection, there was just a lot of gunk built up so it was time to replace it. Super easy process to replace too.
It is the stabilizer bushings , trust me I replaced them the last thing ! They get hard as a rock and you don’t see it until you remove them cost 14.99 and they are simple to replace
@@joeb1465 i did that work at 10 years... was backing out of the driveway and had the steering ball joint shear in the ball. so i figured if im going to change that ball joint i might as well change all the joints and bushings for the front... and well i was doing that i figured since i have it all ripped apart i might as well change the soft lines front and back well im at it
GM had an enormous lifter failure rate on their 5.3L engine with active fuel management which is basically the same as multi cylinder deactivation. Before that the 5.3 that they built between 2000 and 2006 was as bulletproof as the 350 or the 3800.
I had an 05 300c for 15 years. I put 250k miles on it. The suspension issues are real. Every 24 to 36k I had to do suspension work. I had to repair the ac at 200k miles. I also had to replace the spark plug wires at 200k miles. Otherwise no other issues.
Great car. Read below later. If you want to drive yours indefinitely, first find an aftermarket radiator, then get aftermarket suspension bushings with extended warranty, go to each and every under hood and trunk wiring harness you can find and disconnect, clean with high quality electronics cleaner(DeOxyIt is best)slather with dielectric grease, reconnect, and do the same with all ground straps, but sand the connection area before reconnecting. Almost all intermittent problems will disappear. Mine did. Car was shutting off. Dealership claimed it wouldn’t do it for them, they lied. I did the aforementioned. Going on 10 months no more problems after messing with it for about 4 months. I was about to have the PCM replaced, but my hypothesis is that the act of replacing these parts fixes the problem, not the part itself. There are instances in many modern cars where the TSB says to disconnect, clean, dielectric grease, reconnect, problem gone. Oh and definitely clean up the part and charge the customer for a new one. Don’t forget that part. “It’s all ball bearings these days” Fletch
Very informative. I own a 07 300. I have suspension issues and a fan is very unpredictable when car gets hot along with now a water needs replacing. Car runs great otherwise, starts up looks good and gets good gas mileage. Your vid has been very helpful... Thanks
Although the body is starting to rust out. I would advise anyone who wants to keep the 2005 model for a while to upgrade the front suspension. The stock front suspension is trash. I haven’t seen any other huge issues.
I wanted to thank you for your info on the 300. Mine is a 08 300C. LOVE IT! Have had no problems until lately (128k miles) front end making a lot of noise Took it on for est. Basically $2200. will fix it. The suspension on these cars are way different than my Loncolns air ride systems. Needs struts, grommets, etc plus alignment. Sounds like a bucket of bolts of you hit a small bump. They assured me no tirods were broken etc, I am hearing metal hitting metal, however, it's still safe to drive, just sounds bad and a little harder to handle. That price includes labor and alignment. Stated parts were a trip to find at reasonable prices. The cars rear end is fine. BTW, LOVE your black interior! I got black with light silverish interior (wanted black). Most people comment on it's Clear Coat. It's a multi-color fleck. Beautiful. Plus my son put a ceramic coating on it some years ago. (Professional Job) Money well spent. I never have to use soap or scrub it. Everything simply slides off. Highly recommend it on all cars, but best when very new to add on. Lasts for years if properly cleaned, extending life of ceramic coating. Thanks for heads up on fans etc. Will have them check those out as well. Loved the info/presentation and your car. I LOVE MY 5.7. STILL gets up and JETS! LOL
Wrap some kind of rubber around your sway bar bushings and you won't have the clunking up front no more, the bushings are made to small from the factory ..I have mocked mine and the measurements don't match Chrysler knows this cuz I told them and they haven't done a thing to correct it..if u get new bushings this problem will happen again within 20 thousand miles most likely so I wrapped an old inner tube rubber around mine and it's worked fer70 thousand miles so far..try it it's four bolts and done .
@@kathysiebert6654 not a problem your welcome..it's just one of the things I tryed on mine because I got new bushings and the noise went away only to return two weeks later.there made to small and Chrysler knows this! I told them three yrs ago but there not into making there bushings a touch bigger I guess😐so someone had to figure it out rite!! Lol.mines had the rubber I added on it for a long long time now and I haven't herd a peep outa them at all.just when u add the rubber keep in mind that u still need to have enough room to get the bolts back in ! But I got two full wraps on mine without any problems with the cap bolts..anyone with half a clue that works on cars will understand what I'm sayen! And if they don't...I wouldn't even let them ride in mine lol.if ya know what I mean😉hope it fixes ur problem ,,,I'm sure it will!!!...and it's five bucks fer a tube that's better than 2200 !!!..tc and your welcome ,,glad I could help..now send fifty dollars to 🤣😂😝
Sitting at about 110k on my 2007. So far no issues with the fans, throttle body or valves. Have had the suspension issues though. Ended up replacing just about everything to get rid of the rattling noise. The newest thing is the radio/nav display has gone blank. Comes on every now and then but mainly blank. The volume knob is the oily thing that works so it's left on the last station. Planning to sell it next spring so I'll need to get that resolved first. Have enjoyed owning the car though. The 5.7 is a beast. Thanks for the videos. AE
Polyurethane bushings, quality replacement control arms and components, Suspension issues gone. NEVER seen a cooling fan issue but HAVE seen water pump failures of Hemis. Remanufactured heads from places like Jasper or Jegs have a TON of retrofits and updates right out of the box and have solved all issues.
I’m going to be getting a 2006 Chrysler 300c for $3200 and it has 187k miles. The owner said they replaced the transmission 4 months ago and the radiator, brake calipers, and rotors. Praying everything goes well tomorrow🙏🏻
I spent 900$ to the mechanics and they never found the problem, so after the 7th mechanic and Chrysler I decided on my own to replace the stabilizer bushings and that was it ! They had a ridge on them 1/4 inch high 1/4 wide and when you hit a bump bum bump / I’m so happy I was fixing to pay the dealer 1000 for A frame repair !!! Funny I should have replaced the cheapest suspension part on the front / sway bar bushings $14.99
I'm having a transmission issues. I took it to Coleman Taylor to have it checked. They told me that there is no transmission issue but I have a electronic issues. It go through the first and second cycle and around 40 mph it like it's not changing. What is the fix for this. Issue. I have 259+ miles
@@leonardc2234 The 2005-2010 suspension is that of the Mercedes s class IIRC. Nag1 Tranny is the Merdcedes e class. steering column/harness is e class as well.
I hear rattling when I'm driving. I replaced the struts on both sides, however I still hear the noise. So I replace the upper ball joints and I'm still hearing that noise.
@@jameswatkins2222 control arm/hub bearings maybe ? Perhaps even a seized sliding pin in one of your calipers. I noticed some of the rattling went away when I replaced my calipers.
Between 2005 and 2007 300, charger, chalenger, and magnum all have bad suspension for those years. The engineering changed for the better in 09 and improved even more 2012. From my experience
Had an '07 Magnum with 5.7 L and dropped a valve seat at 90k. Had to replace entire head. Chrysler dealer wanted $2400. My local mechanic did the job for $1200. Traded the car off after that for a Eco-Boost 3.5 Ford F 150. Love it to this day.
Another common problem on the 300 is the shifter interlock latch. When that little plastic part part breaks, you can't get the shifter out of park. A metal replacement part is available. Several repair videos are available on youtube.
I have a 2006 Chrysler 300C SRT8, 98k miles. I have had the cooling issue and we solved it by replacing the fans, putting a thicker hose on the radiator, and changing the thermostat to a 180 degree. I also have a Diablo tuner in her and we changed the temp at which the fans kicked on at. No problems with the throttle body. Suspension just started acting up. At one point I had 2 identical cars and the one had an issue with the pan under the front end. It ended up falling and dragging in the middle of the highway. It rubbed against my tires and everything. These cars can be amazing, and I would suggest the tuner so you can keep up on everything.
Wise Man haha I’m sure also 07 Chrysler Aspen hemi 5.7 built better than any other hemi out there. The alternator the transmission this thing is like the navigator to the cobra. All engine parts are even different from traditional hemi not sure why but it’s a beast but has all the traits described lol
@@atx-cvpi_99 I agree 100%. I used to work with a guy who had a 2000 Chrysler Concorde, and he had the 2.7 V6 and that car had some kind of radiator or cooling fan problem that caused his car to overheat and consequently warped cylinder heads and about $1000 repair job afterwards... 3.2 or bigger V6 engines are the only ones to have...
Yes bud you are point on from fan to suspension and thank you for the lightning bolt I could not figure that one out all of a sudden I would just lose power it was crazy thank you
Matt this is great content! Actually as off right now at 119,000 mi my car is getting the radiator fans replaced because they stopped working as well as the outer tie rods being very loose. I’m glad I found this video to have a heads up on a couple things to look out for. Thanks bruv!
In my 2014 300c 80000 only issue so far had to replace exhaust pipe, rear sunshade broken, backup camera doesnt always work...other than that, love it!
I would say for Chrysler in general, be careful about rust around the rear wheels. I’ve noticed that the rust is always starting above and behind the rear quarter panels. I’ve even noticed on a few different 300’s the rust generally starts in the same place.
I have a 2006 300c 5.7 Hemi Heritage edition. I have 180k mileage. No cooling fan, No cylinder ring seat issues. I have not changed spark plugs, but I just bought new set to change. I do have front suspension issues. This has been a great car.
I have a 2005 Chrysler 300c hemi with 200,636 and the only thing I’ve changed a fuel pump, drive shaft disc bushings, and the water pump. Also the suspension all around has been done twice. I’ve also done regular tune ups and oil changes and haven’t had any problems other than those.
@@DAMIANFMARTI15 yes mine has had suspension work done that's it, it's pretty reliable car, iv added a aftermarket super charger at 150k n it's been reliable the whole time
Dude. Look at the way you keep your car. No wonder you have issues. If you take care of your car, you usually don’t have problems. I had a 2007 300 Signature edition and have a 2017 300C and have had ZERO issues with either. Not a huge Chrysler fan. I have owned 2 BMW 7 series and 2 S Class Mercedes and the Chrysler is a great value for the money. Bottom line is you need to take care of your car
What??? R u high? No there crap, chrysler does not deserve to b put on the "usually have no issues list" if it wasnt for there complete crap cars i would have No work...most the time. but thank u dodge for the work i found my career because of dodge/chrysler i thank em for that
I have a 2008 srt8 300c and I beat its ass everyday and have had zero issues that where mentioned. I have broke the carrier bearing and both rear axles. That’s it.
I had an AWD Magnum RT that had three of those issues. I'm saving your video as a reference as I'm shopping for a new AWD Magnum. I love the car! But it has it's issues. Thanks man!
You said these arent serious issues but i beg to differ when it comes to the whole valvetrain problem. That is a huge/expensive issue. All the other ones are live-able.
Thats what i was thinking valve train is a whole jon of remov8ng the head and checkkng valve clearance and its a bug job it eould seem im starting my forst year A.S.T PROGRAM WERE I LIVE AND THATS LIKE A BLOCK 2 OR 3 MAYBE BLOCK 4 JOB
240k+ miles on my 2005 with no throttle body issues. Front suspension replaces at 187k miles. I don't have the Hemi, just the 3.5L. No valve train issues. The front bumper does hang low and the shield under the engine finally gave up at about 180k miles, but didn't replace. A/C compressor failed at 180k, and am now on the third replacement - the worst problem so far. Door lock actuator on RR failed about 200k. Replaced the headlamps because they were beat up. Light switch failed about 225k. Overall, I can't really complain too much.
Do it bro mine has 93,000 on it with a 6.1 SRT8 at a procharger since it was new and I live in Arizona. those are low miles on yours and on mine so I would go with it the 6.1 is hard to come by and the SRT8 these days with lower miles definitely get it bro
Guys , just read a few comments below , these are big issues when they occur, however when you get 120=160k miles on most any car there are going to be issues or also once it gets to be 15 years old as a lot of these replies below are , Lhave A 2011 and have had none of these issues so far , except a recall on front end sway bars upper and lower that factory fixed and an alternator and air bag recall as well , not saying in another 30k -50k mile I won’t be in same boat , but for first 100k I’ve enjoyed the car basically trouble free
Oh and tyres!! Even p-zeros wouldnt hook up, so went with MT ss streets drag radials on the rear and ns2’s on the front. When it hooks, you hold on for dear life and u pray!!!! Never been a religious man untill you have ur accelerator kissing the carpet. I got pulled over after accelerating from traffic lights (was on my own, just enjoying the ride) and mr plod pulled me over, asked me what warp speed i got up to before i saw him....behind me 🥺 he loved the car and after a good look round told me it would hurt him more to pick bits of the car off the road than it would to be picking bits of me off the road. A quick yes sir no sir sorry sir and lesson learned.
I have a 06 5.7 Charger with 153k miles. I keep up with my maintenance so the only issues I have had I'd consider to be normal. I did a brake booster swap last week. I swapped the PCV valve as a precaution. No issues with my radiator, but I have a flutter noise coming from my passenger side engine compartment. Sounds like the exhaust manifold. I may need a new gasket. I'm being proactive and swapping the oil pressure sensor next week when I do my oil change (Mobil 1 synthetic only). The gap fitments of the hood and bumpers are a nusance for sure . Oh! I had to swap the clock spring a few months ago and that's a common problem I've heard. I am having a the suspension noise as well. Not sure what's the best solution there and I am running OEM Replica 20 inch Challenger rims on my Charger.
* Install a 180 degree thermostat and have computer flashed to have fans help hold that temp. * 3 ball-joints , on each side. They wear out. "MOOG" brand are better than OEM. * I got an srt8 , my 6.1 runs like a Swiss watch.
@@brettbarker8444 let's put it this way, I'm supposed to run premium I.e. 92 octane.... But because i keep my temps down , i don't have to worry about detonation , so i run on 87 octane. Always have... My car runs like a freight-train with turbo..... I love mustangs , but sorry to say. I turned off my traction-control and stomped one, of the lights... And it was a lightweight fox-body. With manual trans.
in my 14 years 150k miles on my 5.7 V8 I have experience the coolant system for sure, piston misfire that always keeps coming back, the alternator once, and suspension has always been noisy but never broke so far.
I knew someone who had the 2.7 litre engine and she had 280,000 miles on it and never had a bit of trouble with it and she couldn’t believe me when I told her that those engines were junk.
Your thermostat will start to stick at about 205k to 230k. Trust me I had one great car just upgraded to hemi but replace your thermostat soon cause that causes engine running hot which leads to other major problems like blown head gasket etc.
I have a 2006 chrysler 300 touring. My engine died on it. A few years ago. I put in a rebuilt engine in it. With 50 thousand miles on it. However I did come across some issues years later. Here is my list. burnt out cigarette lighter. Easy fix burnt out fuse. Heat running cold.Another easy fix. Burnt out fuse. alternator replaced, Front suspension, inner outer tie rods, wheel bearings ball joints. All have been repaired. She runs great but not in the snow. Not bad on gas either.
I have 2006 Chrysler 300 for 10 years now and I’ve just started having issues 2yrs ago but nothing major ITS AN AMAZING CAR VERY RELIABLE FOR TGE MOST PART
Thank you for the video. I do agree with you on most if not all of your comments. I wish to add the following based on my own experience with two Chrysler 300s 2007 and 2013. 1. Front end problems with both cars and it did not matter whether I used Mopar bushings, links, and ball joints or aftermarket upper/lower arm controls, they simply went bad and had to replace them twice once at 55.000 miles and again on 126.000 miles. 2.The 2013 300: 3.6L Pentastar (TICK TICK TICK) sounds familiar? is another disaster where rocker arms had factory defects, the metal part will eat up the camshafts and have fun with ticking noise plus cylinders misfiring so I had to replace 24 of them on both banks and was lucky to do it before eating up the camshaft lobes where the metal shaving might blow the whole engine altogether. Add to it weak headlights compared with 2007 ( 4 headlights vs. one cheap bulb for both low and high beam on 2013 models) good luck turning into a driveway on a rainy night. 3. power steering fluid simply disappeared on the 2013 without showing any signs of leaks, I still don't know where all that fluid went! needless to say, you must remove the front tire and wheel well plastic to access the reservoir. convenient location? Really? 4. Rear axle wining sounds developed at around 60.000 miles in both models. and yes indeed Mercedes back in 2007 put the 300 together solving many electrical and transmission issues with older Chrysler only for Fiat to take it over and make Chrysler run on a budget to feels so cheap just like another Fiat.
Great video! I have a 2008. 3.5 L V6. 172K on the odometer. Has been a great car. I bought it from the original owner who managed to hit 2 deer with it and fixed it twice. You would be hard pressed to believe that it you saw it. Body shop did a great job each time. 40 mile plus everyday driver plus Amazon Flex delivery vehicle on the weekends. Had an EGR valve go bad several years ago. Pulled the intake and replaced the EGR valve and a new intake gasket plus new plugs while it was easy to get to. I have put at least 2 alternators in. A little tricky to coax into position. I have the front suspension knock. Gets worse in cold weather. Local shop claims the camber plates on the struts are to blame. Have not gotten that fixed yet. Starting to hear a lifter tick and starting to lose some oil between oil changes. It's not burning it or leaking it as far as I can tell, so not sure what the issue is here. Have always had the Chrysler transmission whine. Was told it was the way the gears are cut and mesh. I got used to it. I would definitely buy another one. I have never had one with a Hemi, but would consider it.
I have a 07 ram with the 5.7 and the valve covers are leaking on both sides near the rear, I found this because I am working on the suspension and have the inner fenders out, so I was able to see it, 240000 miles on it. Would have never seen the leaks otherwise.
other than the front end suspension and 2 omron relays, my '08 300 LT has been pretty good.replaced the front end with amazon parts at 140.000. now 165,000.the 2.7 l engine's been great.
I'd be careful with that 2.7 ...definitely make sure you change the oil when it needs done an keep on top of the radiator fluid ..2.7 are bad motors if you don't treat them like a baby
I own a 2015 Chrysler 300c Platinum (Hemi) with 10, 369 original miles. The car is eight and one-half years old, never a problem with the car. I will keep this gorgeous car for life. A friend has the same car with 265,000 miles, and no problems.
08 SRT 8 currently has 330,000 kms I've had the front lip spoiler issue, inahd to replace the starter relay which was $20 and that's about it. I have a 185f thermostat replaced the suitcase muffler and have an intake. Had it tuned and it sits at 270kw to the wheels. One thing I've noticed is that the right hand drive 300s were built in Austria vs the left hand one were built in North America so that may be interesting issue
My 2008 SRT Design 3.0 V6 has had ball joint issues since 86000 miles, the throttle body is a constant issue, the lightning bolt light comes on every 20 miles and goes into limp mode, the engine management light comes on all the time, the turbo gets stuck open, the lights turn themselves off at night and it keeps saying check TPM and check park assist, I’ve now got 117000 miles and want to scrap it, I loved it once, loved it but I’ve spent £6000 in the last 18 months, great vid by the way
Wow! I've had to replace my fan and radiator. Then I started experiencing the inability to turn as the steering wheel would lock. SCARYYYYYYYY...that happened coming off the interstate.
You're welcome that's exactly what happened to me when I was going to work I went to turn and I couldn't and I had to break it loose and found out it was the outer tie rod
06 5.7. Replaced fans, water pump and radiator at 120k. It’s now over 140k with no throttle body issues. Working on the suspension now. Doing head gaskets, intake and valve cover gaskets and headers with 3in exhaust all the way out.
Things I can verify as a master tech on these. Throttle body is a Chrysler issue in general, the first gen 5.7 had issues with lifters and the valve seats cracking dropping the valve in the cylinder destroying the engine. Never had a cooling issue besides leaking water pumps. You totally forgot to mention the shifter getting stuck in park that plagued the LX platform. The pink plastic clip brakes from the spring. Chrysler will sell you an entire shifter assembly with the exact same pink plastic clip. Napa sells a metal version for $50 it's a permanent fix. The door handles on the LX platform will break usually from the outside or the chrome will peel cutting your hand open.
@@selassiesx1398 check both radiator hoses at operating temp to see if both are hot. If one is hot the other is warm or cool it's the thermostat. Could also be a weak impeller on the water pump which is common. Both of those can be replaced in well under an hour with basic hand tools.
Have a 2006 chrysler 300 srt8 its rise in temperature when im gunning it gets up to 226 at 90 but cools back down when i run 60mph stays at 218 at idle in 103 summer. Changed the tstat and water pump..is this normal
@@deangelostepeny5892 that's not normal to run up to 3/4. Should be a 195 tstat factory. Try a 180 or 160 tstat and see if that helps. NEVER buy a failsafe tstat they ALWAYS fail half closed or closed.
I replaced all of my front suspension parts after my inner Tre Rods went out at 35K miles. Moog makes lifetime replacement parts for all of the front suspension and it's worth spending the 500 bucks on parts (that haven't broken yet) to fix the issues before they happen. 2016 Chrysler 300S Luxury Package (seriously no options missing, the only way they could make it better is if the hand cradled your balls while you drive)
2005 bought car brand new! Drove for a total of 320,000km 8yrs! Only problem was had to replace all 4 pwr window motors in first 4 months! 5.7 Hemi, best car ever!
Internal parts that are failing are made in Mexico...and quality control is nil... A manufacturer can't control certain quality issue's And all manufacturers suffer that issue.
2006 300C SRT8 original owner 150K miles. Fitment, and Suspension issues are it. I used to baby the car, but for the second half of its life I have been dragging it through the mud literally. LOVE MY CAR!
Yahya Ahmed I recommend mopar parts for anything electrical and either stock or aftermarket for other parts. The suspension issue isn’t due to poor parts it’s just a poor design
Own a 06 Limited 3.5L with 160k km. The only issue I had is the suspension which is definitely bothersome. I've replaced both the bushing and the ball joint and the problem still wasn't completely fixed. I decided to just give up and run the suspension to the ground before I do anything to it again.
turnne parts are cheap for the motors except plugs. Takes 16 plugs but I will say I’ll pay that considering the smile the car puts on my face every time I stomp it lol.
2008 SRT Design 5.7, 125000 miles, no suspension problems, no throttle issues. Valve seat issues are from the heat, and if you run it hot you are definitely going to drop one. I will agree with the fan issue had that problem. No body problems.
The p1004 code that requires you to replace the entire intake manifold to truly fix the problem, you can take it apart and clean it the best you can replace the short runner sensor thing connected to the manifold it will temporarily erase the code but it will come back
220k miles. Only thing’s changed are the Plug’s , starter , alternator, thermostat housing (leaking). And you’re correct about the suspension. Shit sucks. Everything in the front lol.
I have a 2006 300. Just replaced the motor on it. I just got it back and it was doing everything u explained in the electric throttle video which was very helpful, thank u. The suspension in the front is horrible. Replaced that too back in October. The mileage on the motor when my motor took a shit was at 138 thousand or so. This r & r engine has came with it's issues. I love my car and I have probably learned more about the car than I needed too by replacing parts here and there. I bought the car 3 years ago at 120 thousand miles but with purchasing the car cash and replacing parts I have spent about 15 thousand dollars. Maybe I just have a stupid mechanic. Thanks for ur videos Matt 👍😊😁😊
I have a 2010 300C Hemi and my car is beautiful with no sagging pieces and only had to replace the brakes. It has 130,000 m and still looks brand new inside and out. I take really good care of my car so that's probably why.
@@fidenciogonzalez1840 that's what's up. I think the 300C is the best looking ones and its one of my favorite cars by far and I love the way they ride too. Take good care a your beautiful ride and enjoy
You didn't say anything about the sensors go bad on these cars a lot, I have a 06' Chrysler 300 the sensors go out on these cars, But thanks for the video!
I honestly can say I haven’t had an issue with sensors yet (knock on wood) I do know if a sensor goes out it should be replaced with an oem one because the aftermarket ones don’t seem to work every time
You talking about the oil pressure sensor deep in the engine bay? Took me 4 hours straight to screw that little fucker in. You better have skinny hands for that repair so you don’t have to pay a mechanic $$$ for it 😂
On my 05 Chrysler 300C my cruise control sensor went out twice within 48000 miles. Not a big deal , but on the highway the first time going 0n a 600 mile trip, I pulled into a Chrysler dealer and they assured me it wouldn't put me to the side of the road. Lol, I was in a hurry , so they said to wait until i get back to my dealer to get it fixed. Having to go without cruise control was an amazing throwback. Got a new 2019 300C in July, hope it's as reliable as the 2005.
I just need front end work done..had to replace the motor cause whoever owned it before didn't take care of it at all...an for whoever reads this make sure you change out your water pump an timing belt at the same time don't just replace the water pump do both of these at the same time...even the pin for the timing belt do it at the same time..I have a 3.5
I have a 2005 300c with 157,000 miles. So far the only issue I’ve had was to replace the water pump at 156,135. I replaced it along with a new thermostat (203), and the temp will stay right around that with freeway driving. Around town, between 203 to 215 depending on traffic stops. I did on second thought, replace a bad rack and pinon, but that’s it. KNOCK ON WOOD!
My top five are: 1) the inner tie rods are bolted into the rack and there's a tabbed bracket that folds around the heads of the bolts. I've had this let go TWICE in the past year resulting in a wheel coming completely unhooked from the steering. 2) some crackhead tried to break into both front doors a while back and they screwed up the window channels and I can't roll down the front windows anymore because they come loose and try to pop out when I roll them back up. 3) the air conditioner only blows warm moist air that smells like mold. I should probably look further into that... 4) the breather tube on the gas tank is clogged, so when I put gas in the car it pressurize the gas tank, the gas being pumped in gets backed up in the fill tube, and the pump shuts off because it thinks it's full. 5) the 5 CD changer slash player won't read CDs anymore and it doesn't look like a single - DIN universal deck would fit instead.
Thanks man
You should do a video on this “how to take care of your Chrysler 300”
I have a 2015 chrysler 300 limited and the radiator fan just went out on it
@mrmauricebrownable I have one like his, and my radiator fan just tore apart and slammed into the radiator, destroying it, ...just like he said in the video!

What year is yours

What was going on when you replaced throttle body?
@Fernando Javion well 😳 what'd you find out !!!! 😰🧐🤣
@Rowen Kace plz tell me a bitch got drug tf 🤣🤣💪🤘
the 300 and Dodge Magnum are both on the Daimler LX platform.
Ok, I paused the video at 4:31 just to comment, now going back to the video.
the rhd ones in aus they didnt bother to change that so its on the passenger side
What did you end up doing? I also think the 300 wagons are dope
225k and no problem at all and im the 3rd owner love 300c
What year?
Same. I drive a 2009 300 Hemi, second owner. 151K miles. Only problem is the starter.
1 problem right now 2006 chrystler 300c hemi. P0520 oil presure sensor hopefully doing it tomorrow.
How many miles have YOU put on it??The first 2 owners probably fixed all the problems
@SOSA he was talking about 225k miles
Change your thermostat to the 180 degree t-stat it'll run cooler and avoid some problems.
You are talking about the cam grind
I replaced my MDS solenoids when I bought my truck
Well yeah the 300 is a mess worst car ever made
@@butchcorner2477 🦆
Yea same I say the cost to get it to almost 100% is worth it because of the no payment thing , lol became a RUclips mechanic to save myself a bucks 🤣 but I need the experience so I can see why a power steering cooling in a Durango cost $349 🤣 took me 30 mins to get the job done
Then if it's a defect why isn't the car companies responsible ????

Finally replaced factory brake pads at 180k along with spark plugs, serpentine and complete fluid change at that same time just because I felt I should.
I spend alot on my front end. Try changing the sway bar bushings before u spend any money trust me you will thank me..
Foreal what’s going on with the sway bar bushings ?
I need new sway bar links. Might need a new sway bar too.

Definitely replace the bushings guys, i have an 08 300 and this did the trick for mine at 142,126 miles.
2005 Chrysler 300 3.5l v6. I have replaced the cooling fans. Throttle body being replaced today and I have over 243,000 miles on her.
What was the symptoms of throttle body
@@leonardc2234 Audibly, it was a whirring noise coming from the engine bay while on the road. Mechanically, the car ran high on idle and had a C/E light. after inspection, there was just a lot of gunk built up so it was time to replace it. Super easy process to replace too.

Although the body is starting to rust out. I would advise anyone who wants to keep the 2005 model for a while to upgrade the front suspension. The stock front suspension is trash. I haven’t seen any other huge issues.
Wow.
I wanted to thank you for your info on the 300. Mine is a 08 300C. LOVE IT! Have had no problems until lately (128k miles) front end making a lot of noise
Took it on for est.

I would say for Chrysler in general, be careful about rust around the rear wheels. I’ve noticed that the rust is always starting above and behind the rear quarter panels. I’ve even noticed on a few different 300’s the rust generally starts in the same place.
It all depends on the area you live in.

Wow! I've had to replace my fan and radiator. Then I started experiencing the inability to turn as the steering wheel would lock. SCARYYYYYYYY...that happened coming off the interstate.
Replace your outer tie rods
@@Twix2013PSN I replaced the whole car 🤣 I'll keep that in mind for the next 300. Thank You😁
You're welcome that's exactly what happened to me when I was going to work I went to turn and I couldn't and I had to break it loose and found out it was the outer tie rod
@@Twix2013PSN damn
Yes I have a 2006 c 5.7 running hot 191,000 miles was smoking stopped but bubbling over flow ???
OMFG!! that clip bullshit was a shit show!!..it was in my 06 and jayZUS!....
I was a Chrysler Transmission Plant employee for 45 years. Chrysler started in the 90s looking out for their dealers maintenance personnel.
My son has 06and there saying the transmission is going bad
What's the deal with the 42rle banging into gear?
A manufacturer can't control certain quality issue's
And all manufacturers suffer that issue.
2006 300C SRT8 original owner 150K miles. Fitment, and Suspension issues are it. I used to baby the car, but for the second half of its life I have been dragging it through the mud literally. LOVE MY CAR!
ya i faced all of that .. solution?? : after market high performance parts ^^
Yahya Ahmed I recommend mopar parts for anything electrical and either stock or aftermarket for other parts. The suspension issue isn’t due to poor parts it’s just a poor design
Only way to solve the problem
@@MattsMotoWoRX It's a mercedes design- s class IIRC.
Own a 06 Limited 3.5L with 160k km. The only issue I had is the suspension which is definitely bothersome. I've replaced both the bushing and the ball joint and the problem still wasn't completely fixed. I decided to just give up and run the suspension to the ground before I do anything to it again.
Some of these issues...the engine specifically ...are up there with the value of the car in repair costs
Are these usually cheap to repair?....
turnne parts are cheap for the motors except plugs.
I agree that sounds logical.
The p1004 code that requires you to replace the entire intake manifold to truly fix the problem, you can take it apart and clean it the best you can replace the short runner sensor thing connected to the manifold it will temporarily erase the code but it will come back
#4 took out my 2007 330C. Great video, thanks!
Just got my 06 300c engine rebuilt a very great car.
Put an oil catch can so your life of the engine last
I have a 2006 300c 5.7 hemi with 245,xxx miles and this far have not had any problems with our cooling system.
Mine only had 47k miles and bent a valve, weird
I take really good care of my car so that's probably why.
i have a 300c and it’s a v6 perfectly fine only had to replace the brakes and it has 120,000 miles and it looks new too
@@fidenciogonzalez1840 that's what's up.
I honestly can say I haven’t had an issue with sensors yet (knock on wood) I do know if a sensor goes out it should be replaced with an oem one because the aftermarket ones don’t seem to work every time
I agree it was the 1st thing I had to fix
07 300 3.5 v6 rack and pinion, 02 sensors constantly, suspension, regular maintenance. 270 miles
Thank you so much i have a 2005 300 and have experienced all the issues you mentioned😢😢
My top five are:
1) the inner tie rods are bolted into the rack and there's a tabbed bracket that folds around the heads of the bolts.
You’re prob better off selling the car or buying a new one
