Ecaz here, very cool game. Despite my earlish callout I was very surprised by the 1.1k gov vote since I was trying to assassinate Corrino, which I flubbed by not replacing a captured agent. Props to Ze Gentleman for allying together with me against other threats (we beat down Atreides together after you died) despite the bloodfeud.
I do think assassination into gov would be a strong Vernius play.
Love it! I think there is a lot of space still in the meta to explore for many different factions.
You went for gov too soon. Should have waited until one died.
I think you needed to delay your voting count to not scare people off as well.
I think this game, because of the 4 players, is a 100% timing game.

The corrino ship flying over before he broke was an opportunity, hes using it as an airfield, so sniping it before he could prepare and break would make it harder for him to join. (At least directly into your main).
I also think a combination of assassination and politics would be a cool option. 3v1 is definitely too rough + im not sure you could contest a second governor upvote on the next council?

I think Vernius is the hardest and most interesting faction.
So its entertaining seeing the Author suffer and/or succeed with it.

Damn that was a good game. I think a combo of assasination and gov would be very strong. Also, maybe attacking Corrino's Capital ship to force them to pull it back or to drop their troops earlier than they wanted to would have helped in the base defense. But hindsight is 20/20 so, who knows? 🤷♂️🤷♀️
I think the assassin counsellor for Vernius is a must pick.
If the other people knew you did not have them they could have easily relaxed.

Getting gov when all 3 players are still up feels really rough. by the time you can get the positions, there is no way 1 army can beat 3 (assuming the lobby plays together properly)
Maybe governorship could be buffed to give some kind of military/defensive bonus. CHOAM gives you 15% more army power. But I don’t know enough about the game to make statements about which win cons are too strong or too weak.
You kindof need to sneak it in when someone else is already winning (lots of choam, or high heg), otherwise you just get ganged up on. In general you don't really want to show how much ahead of the pack you are because you just can't beat 3 other players lol. Gov is definitely the hardest wincon I think though, because getting enough influence to outvote 3 other factions is already quite difficult by itself.
Knowledge agreements always benefit them more than you. They get a research discount on all your techs, and since you're Vernious you'll have more unlocked than they do. They get to follow your tech paths for massive discount without needing to invest in knowledge
Absolutely right, whenever there's a Vernius player in the game I always ask for a research agreement, they see the +2 knowledge and go for it, without considering how that +20% boost is going to in fact make me leech off their tech more effectictively. In the long run, whenever they cut you off their tech, you'll have reached a much higher tech level than normal, which is even better since the rest of the lobby doesn't think of doing this as well
So, even if everyone is truced with Vernius, there's one faction getting much more from the truce than the others
Turin! Try a fighting mech (the melee drone) along with your early suboid legion, instead of the rail drone. The little bit spent on Solari repairs is more than made up for by the manpower you save on healing and replacing suboids.
I love playing political vernius trying to get the truce with all factions for extra landsraad, the first blue tech aswell for 10 extra
I feel like with a clever obfuscate, maybe this could havegone down differently. Like taking away siege incentives, though not sure whether anyone had it.

does it seem like there will be an expansion to this game? does this game mostly or only occur on Arrakas(?)?
I doubt they will expand to the wider Dune universe outside of Arrakis, so far the entire game takes place on northern Arrakis
The councilor with the "replace main building" seems kinda useless, never seen it usage, even in this game.
You mostly pick your most common/favorite buildings and never switch.
You have to have a plan ready since the start of the game for that buildings should be switched.
It feels even wasteful, since you lose all plastcreet above 500 anyway? So the only way not to lose plastcreet is if you had exactly 0 before dismantling a hq building.
I mean, if you sit on 4k+ plascrete, why even care if you waste a bit?

What about the part where pretty much no-one uses it?
That councilor could be made so much stronger if they made it so that you either got +4 knowledge for every district building (bringing the max bonus from 3 to 9 which still isn't crazy, but more defensible as a pick), or that every district bonus applied whenever you filled a district with three buildings. That way he'd be a more competitive pick against the usual 2

Genuinely, why you’re not trying to get experience upgrade for engineers as soon as possible? It allows them to level up drones much quicker. In my personal opinion, it’s a must have

Turin the way suboids work is they buff each other it literary says every time you select one they get +5% power for each suboid near them.
I think they also have an armory upgrade that buffs drones in your army tho.

We really need some hero in this community who gets the numbers and does all the math so we know what is worth doing and what not
Or you just do it and Experiment around thier Army set ups…suboids are great in 8-10 Units even late game. But you need to avoid ae damage sources (skirmisher, grenadiers, Flame throwers and ofc turrets)
7:30-8:00 why do you want to hoard tech pickups?
So he can blast through several techs all at a once. It’s especially good after you break treaties with everyone so you surprise them with a massive push they thought you were thirty minutes away from.

@@brodiecooper4986isn't the whole idea to use imperical data before you pick em up? I dont think people generally have enough info on the enemy tech tree to be watching it the way you're describing.
@@_TheOldMan_ jeeez dude vernius can share tech with allies through treaties. You can see exactly what they already have, and plan around it if your allies with them. Otherwise it’s because you can build up a massive amount of research speed making those pickups worth 2-3 times as much. It’s definitely wierd though so I get the confusion.
Now try Harkonnen with sacrificial combat drones, instead of all Cerberus boosting Executioners.
If the Corrino mothership dies before the troop carriers land near it, they should turn around to the airport they came from.
if you hadnt let them occupy areas adjacent to your main base then perhaps you would have won that one
