All of us who have watched you for years probably have our own memories of a special video you have made. I'll never forget one you made in a snow storm where the snow got so deep you could hardly breath through the night. It practically buried your small tent. Suggestion: you making a video where you discuss/ show your own most memorable trips.
Hi Luke, I love your videos. This one is short and full of thunder. Love these kind of adventures. And those aerial shots are breath taken. Quick question when you walk up or down the mountain with all those rocks have you ever gotten hurt? S&H my friend stay safe and well ☕️
Luke… thank you so much for taking us with you. I’m nearly 72 years old. And I used to go camping alone in the woods in thunderstorms. People called me crazy. I thought I was the only one, who love this as much as I.
@@benterwellen Im about the same age and have had some great camps in thunderstorms. I never paid any attention to the weather years ago. I have had enough close calls with lightening. I've seen trees hit. I've seen two transformers blow up near me and I stay on the porch during storms now days.
As a country gal with her small family trapped in the California desert, your videos bring me so much joy. I miss actually weather and green mountains! I used to teach small class of mountain survival, nothing extreme, just making sure you have proper gear and not missing vital components, but also not over packing and weighing yourself down. Watching the weather and treating the mountains with respect. I absolutely love what you do and how you do it, and that you bring us along! Thank you for all you do!
Thanks for another nice one Luke! Yeah, It must feel weird, knowing literally thousands of outdoorsy people are coming along with you… cool! Keep it up ! 🤗👏👏
I never get tired of your storm videos. It gives me a vicarious experience! For someone who loves storms, I’m living in the wrong place: Southern California, near the coast, lol. Not much weather going on around here, most of the time! Thank you.
You vids are like silent films that don't need words to show what to do...but have the benefit of natures soundtrack behind it. Truly you are the outdoor Kubrick!!!
I always pack a lightweight poncho, in addition to a tarp, for those times when it seems like it's raining or snowing and sleeting sideways. I keep extra ponchos in my car and truck, backpack, boat, hunting gear and the house. Hot food and coffee do wonders to improve a rough weather day outdoors and I store heat and eat food in the vehicles as well. Oh, and must have coffee!!!!!
Thank you for your gorgeous videos from the outdoors, especially my loved rainy hikings ones :) I have been watching your videos for quite a long time, when I saw your first video ( I do not even remember what was it about though ) I fell in love with your videos about different gear, your fascinating nature over there, testnights; I appreciate your principles and approach as well (agenda free, only fair reviews, genuine hiking atmosphere, etc). I am from Ukraine, Kyiv, it is rather difficult here to maintain a positive view for life or so, mildly and shortly speaking, the main task is to survive, there were so many horrific things have happened, and so many ones are to happen... However, I am not complaining, the main thought I want to convey is that your videos allow me to distract from all those things, at least for some time... :) Thank you, Luke! With love from Ukraine!
Master Luke, to me, your the best at what you do. Thanks for letting us go out on these trips with you. I know after you set up the tarp and I sat down beside you, I started dozing off a little, listening to the thunder and the rain, it was so relaxing. Then, I smelt the coffee brewing. Oh Lord, dat smell. Then all of a sudden, darn it, I woke up. Oh well, now I have to wait for your next video. But honestly, I’ll be turning 67 in December, so I may just have to take a ride to North Carolina from New Orleans to see some of my family but mostly to take a 3-4 day hike. It’s been a long time. Thanks my friend for putting that urge back into me.
This is why I like the videos on bad weather camping, so I can be safe, and have a good camping experience, these videos have been a blessing and when I pack for camp I take a means of equipment to make a bad weather change if I have to
Luke, I definitely need one of your videos this week. The week started off with laying my father to rest, after a relatively short battle with cancer. The week will close with the start of another cycle of chemo to fight my brain tumor(oligodendroglioma). Cheers to ya dude.
I love your videos! ❤️ I am also glad you take safety into consideration. I tell the young hiker/hunters to watch your videos. They tell me that you have given them honest, invaluable information. Thanks 🙏🏽❤️
Thanks for sharing that lovely storm and also glad to see you're paying attention to all the cautions around lightening and distance. Always err on the side of caution...live to hike another day! 👍
Love your channel. I'm a big outdoorsy guy, and your channel is far and away the best! My wife's family is from Murphy, North Carolina, so I've spent a great deal of time in your great state, especially in the Smokies. No more beautiful place on Earth! Keep 'em coming, brother! 👍
Luke, every vid you make is better than the last one. You're now the #1 bushcraft/camping YTuber in my books, and I watch them all. Everybody could use a little cheerfulness in their lives. WTG 👍😀
I really enjoyed this! Thanks for taking us along. Nice view of the clouds coming over the mountains. I do like the peak refuel meals. Tried them out for the first time this past weekend and they were pretty good. Have a wonderful day my friend.
Beautiful views from the top of the mountain , looked like an awesome hike up as well as great exercise for sure, along with a nice rain and thunder storm and being prepared what more could one ask for thank Luke nice adventure . Ontario
Nice episode. Was fun watching you talk and then looked like someone used a big flash to take your picture. Then the sound of thunder was wonderful. Glad you enjoyed yourself. Thanks for sharing
Since you like tarps so much you should check out dutchware wide tarps with the pole mods, they really open up and have an internal Ridgeline to hold the poles but you can also use it to hang gear.
I just found your RUclips channel. I am about 5 videos in and I love it. I don't get the chance to hike or camp that much. But your channel is so informative and relaxing. I love the fact that you have no agenda. Thank you!
I appreciate how you always add everything that you show in the video. I am very appreciative of this as it gives me a chance to read the reviews and look at the product. So thank you.
Also Luke, thank you for doing what you do, there are very few outdoor channels that upload videos that being me joy. So thank you for being you, hope everything is well with you and your family - Cam
Well I can say one thing for sure. Luke sure picked the right tarp for that situation. It looks like an Aqua Quest defender tarp, in bad weather that is the tarp your gonna want to have.
I've had a few close calls with lighting and a lot of people don't give it much thought...stay away from tall trees, rock ledges or out cropping's, fences and water .. be safe everyone!
Luke, love your vids! Up here in New England, I could count on one hand how many thunderstorms we've had this year. You seem to get a lot? I've been to the Carolina's and it's beautiful. Keep the content coming, we'll be here!
When I hike - I bring along a small lightning detector. Gives you a 'distance' and counts the number of the strikes it detects. Great tool when hiking in the mountains. Take care - Be safe
I love the way you say "I'm gonna put the tarp up and get some protection real quick" given that you must have previously arrived, set up your camera, gone back, and returned to film yourself arriving. I mean, I get why you do it, and it looks cool as hell, it's just funny to me. Keep up the good work my friend.
I live on Cape Cod up here in New England and boy we could use some rain. I think we’ve been under a high pressure area so it pushes the storms away from here and down towards you. Thanks for the thunder!
I just started watching you're channel and I'm enjoying it. Especially the snow and the storms and I watched till 1am and it's now 7 I've got my coffee and watching some more.thanks for sharing
I'm sorry if I have been rude or too opinionated lately. I have had a really rough year or two here lately, and I lash out sometimes not thinking. I find comfort in watching your videos, so I just wanted to say thank you for what you do Luke, and keep up the great work. Chris from Oklahoma...
New subbie here. I am a girlie girl and bugs and dirt are not my thing. However….. I found your channel and have been binge watching for two days. I can’t get enough of your videos. So glad I found you. Cheers 🍻 cheers !

Wow what a great idea!!!

I am about your age, and also had fun camping in those wild weather days, also by myself
@@benterwellen Im about the same age and have had some great camps in thunderstorms. I never paid any attention to the weather years ago. I have had enough close calls with lightening. I've seen trees hit. I've seen two transformers blow up near me and I stay on the porch during storms now days.

It is always a hoot to go on a trip with you. I thought I felt a drop of rain too. You never disappoint and I never get bit by a mosquito.

I never get tired of your storm videos. It gives me a vicarious experience! For someone who loves storms, I’m living in the wrong place: Southern California, near the coast, lol. Not much weather going on around here, most of the time! Thank you.
There are many reasons you're living in the wrong place and lack of thunderstorms is at the bottom of that extremely long list.
Luke, God sure blessed you with a lot of bravery, courage confidence and knowledge. Thanks for sharing all of your adventures with us.
I truly enjoy your mountain adventures under the tarp having coffee and eating lunch! Seems such a relaxing experience!
You vids are like silent films that don't need words to show what to do...but have the benefit of natures soundtrack behind it. Truly you are the outdoor Kubrick!!!
Everything about nature makes you happy, everything you eat makes you happy, you are just a happy person, that's awesome! never change!!😀
Hi Luke! Another amazing adventure! I love to listen to thunder! Thanks for bringing us along.
I love the sound of the rain, and oh that beautiful view. Thank you for the impromptu trip! Strength and honor.

Loved this video, the weather and the views. Even when it pours down rain, you can have a good time in the mountains.
Thanks for another fun video Luke! One can never take in enough beautiful views! Appreciate you bringing us along for this one!
Nothing beats the sound of rain on a tarp or tent. So soothing.

Canoe tripping in Algonquin park we often made shore and we’re glad for our instant up tent. Diving in just as the storm hit 👍

Yeah, we really don't get the rain like we used too. On the rare occasions we do get one, we'll usually crack a window to listen.
Watching this after a day of 111F here in Vegas, was just what I needed. Thanks!
When I hike - I bring along a small lightning detector. Gives you a 'distance' and counts the number of the strikes it detects. Great tool when hiking in the mountains. Take care - Be safe
