So glad you enjoyed the video.
Love your videos. They always have great information, but I couldn't find the Short Reads category nor could I find the time specific categories.
There’s no short read categories in KDP it’s actually on Amazon.
Great info! I did a short read and made it permafree 😎
Excellent idea!
What is permafree?
@@JennyHansenLane it's where I publish an ebook and make it cost $0 (by price matching) and leave it at $0 for a long as you want. For me, the permafree is to act as a lead magnet for people who dont know my writing style or publications, are hesitating to buy my books and want more to sample before buying anything. Hope that helps 😊
😊👍
Permafree stands for permanently free. You publish your ebook version on a platform like apple iBook, draft2digital, etc and price it at $0. Then you go to KDP and ask them to price match it. This way your book is always free. You can then use it as a free way to get people introduced to you as a writer.
would you do this as a series? break up the information into multiple short reads
You can do that, but if you do, each book(short read) should still have some sort of story arc and conclusion. Similar to a tv series. There may be an overarching storyline, but each “episode” has a conclusion as well.
Interesting. Does Amazon show the Short Reads like the other categories?
They sure do
Can't find Kindle Short Reads on the UK website anymore..... just Kindle Singles. Have they discontinued these as listings on the site?
They may have just changed the name of it.
What software blurs your screen?
I clicked on my niche and it was empty. It took be back to the store. TIME TO PUBLISH!
There are a couple video editing software that can add the blur effect. Camtasia is the software I use, not sure what my Vedic editor uses.
I wrote a short read, but no really read it and I'm wondering what I did wrong.
Did you market and promote it? The days of just publishing something and it automatically selling are few and far between.
Would you say that one page is around 500 word counts?
I cover this in the video, but on average, for non-fiction there’re about 230 words per page and for fiction it’s about 280.
Do you need a cover for these books?
For the ebook version, you’ll need a front cover image. After all, the cover is what captures the customer’s attention.
Can I still publish a short read as paperback?
Yes, but I strongly suggest that you mention in the description that it’s short. You can do it in unique ways, like “28 pages of heart-bounding excitement!” Make sure it’s accurate to your book, not misleading, but still presented in a positive light.
@@KeithWheelerBooks Thanks Boss
