Hmm, since they don't have any blue/grey coaching stock I was kind of hoping they'd paint the 37 in BR green for a more authentic look...

They seem to be going for a consistent look with their Diesels (I know 47077 isn't owned by them, but still). The class 25 next?

37264 is it staying at the NYM or moving on,

It’s part of the home diesel fleet there.

It’s staying at NYMR. It was only repainted because it was looking tatty.

7:00 way to much black paint it looks cheap and fake like, You don’t paint springs with glossy paint Black or otherwise, yellow paint everywhere what’s going on, when these trains were running in the 40s 50s and 60s they were not painted in black gloss paint who allowed this nonsense, if I were there I’d have it sandblasted off asap and go back to the original bare metal!.

Are you referring to 37264??? Yellow paint everywhere ? That’s the livery it carried. Sandblast what off?? The paint? Yeah a great suggestion that, run everything in red rust. 👌🏻 Locos painted in 40s, 50, and 60s were painted in gloss and dulled over time.

This is a bog standard paint job for any preserved diesel.
The loco stands outside 24/7 in Yorkshire weather, and does high mileage, so it won’t take long for it to get weathered.
Before this repaint it was quite scruffy, much scruffier than the 37s that passed my house in the 80s.
Not good for tourists who want to see vintage trains in mint condition.

Saw these locos up close as a train spotter in the 1950's. Whether new or restored, engines were painted in black, yellow, green or red gloss along with other colours. Looked lovely then as now. What did happen was that in the 1960's the laborious cleaning of the engines everyday by teams of cleaners died out and they took on a matt appearance. Amazing craft painting engines and carriages not forgetting the sign writers incredible work. Many of the workers in the shed on the NYMR are volunteers and do an incredible job. Hats off to them!

Are you talking about the Q6? When they were ex-works they were painted glossy black, though it didn't last long as they were never cleaned from one year to the next. I don't see any yellow paint though?
