I know some Azerbaijani words, but you have to remeber that back in 1980s Azerbaijan was part of Sovie Union so number one language was Russian, then it chnaged when Azerbaijan became independen back in 1991. My grandfather was fluent in Russian, Azerbaijani and Farsi, my dad speaks pretty good Azerbaijani.
