Hi I have one problem. My audio worked just fine but now no sound device is available or only my monitor and my monitor’s audio is actually called High definition audio. Realtek shows only as Realtek and after i try to update it there is no option for High definition audio. I really hope you can help me :). It wasn’t like this till last update.

I've been stressed for 4 days now, constantly restarting my computer and stressing out because I make music and wasn't able to record any of my songs. I downloaded a newer Realtek driver online to give me the newer "enhancements" tab to use noise cancellation and unfortunately it made my speakers sound like they were blown! Turns out after using this tutorial, I had 2 different Realtek Sound Drivers downloaded and they kept reinstalling when I would delete one! I finally got my sound back thanks to this video, you are a legend!! Thank you so much!

One more fix for everyone who's still having issues. After watching the video my realtek (r) audio driver still was not out putting sound and i read somewhere that the new windows 10 update installs an outdated version of the audiotek driver, at least in my situation that is. After downloading the driver is still wasn't working because i found that upon uninstalling the driver with the driver installation wizard and then restarting my computer, Windows would immediately reinstall the driver causing a cycle of uninstalling, restarting and then reinstalling automatically. You have to disable sound driver auto updates in your registry in order to basically allow the driver to install properly. This worked for my pc i hope someone else can use this for guidance. Sorry for the long paragraph.

POSSIBLE FIX - So guys, for all of you that are still searching comments for sollution.
For me i tried everything: updating, uninstaling, disabling efects, manualy installing from sites/pc etc. etc.
Sound drivers for windows can be a bit wild.
What i did was just reverting realtec audio driver back to high deffinition (firstcouple of times the sound was horrible). Just dont loose hope guys. Try to jsut switch between latest realtec and high definition audio device. Uninstal/restart if you mess up somehow. You are just basically playing with chances.
I hope you guys will stay srong and fix all your problems.

I connot figure out where it has gone and Realtek device manager is also missing. Both are just gone from my computer. It makes my audio sound off and it's driving me crazy how all these help videos only show you how to highlight and update Realtek High Definition Audio Driver.
I don't have it in my device manager. It's missing along with the Realtek Device Manager. It was there before but it's gone. Please, do you have insight on this? No one seems to know.

Hey guys I think this fixed it for me... The realtek audio thing was gone but if you go to control panel -> sound -> right click on high definition audio device -> properties -> Levels
you can see a mute button there, for me it was on mute and when i unmuted it worked perfectly fine.

The problem I have is that when testing if my mic works using the “hear myself” option or anything that’ll let me hear myself talk through my mic will come out well for 2 seconds then start cutting out up to the point where I can’t hear myself talk anymore. I’m hoping this fixes the problem because I feel like I tried everything...
Edit: it fixed my issue with my headset mic BUT now my speaker mic has been ringing loudly if I don’t plug my headphones in. Luckily I don’t plan on using the speaker mic so it’s all good.

Hi, i just wanted to know whether there is a way to detect headphone mic in the High Definition Audio driver? The thing is that, for me, the realtek drivers come with an application which does the switching from my laptop mic to my headphone mic. Without that application i cannot switch between the 2. Is there a way to detect the headphone mic without the realtek drivers?
I thought i would get a sound card(usb) to do the switching but, all of them are cheap and bad. If there was some other method, it would greatly help Thank You!
