Thank you for actually showing that 12.50s can clear the control arms, been trying to find a video for weeks.
No prob, thanks for watching!
One the best tire and wheel video info wise, and it looks great, one day I’ll get a tundra in this color
Thank you, I appreciate it!!
I appreciate you for sharing this it helps a lot I’m new to trucks let alone tires and wheels and the TRD 3” lift kit is like 4k
That’s some excellent advice thanks for the heads up.👍🏼
No prob, thanks for watching!
Thanks 👍 Very informative
EXCELLENT VIDEO! Thank you for sharing this!
No prob, thanks for watching!
you should recommend to people to cut the liner.... ive seen numerous other cars have the liner completely ripped off in the freeway just because it catches the tire at the right time, trust me they flapp a whole lot on the freeway. cut or at least secure it from being loose like that... but great video none the less
Thanks for info I just bought the same size tiers but it’s BFGR and ordered spacers too 👌
No prob, thanks for watching!…that should look good!
Great video. Truck looks amazing.
Thanks Mike, I appreciate it!
Hello, I enjoy checking out your videos. You are so helpful, detailed, and just really entertaining. I recently bought a 2023 Tunder TRD Pro Hybrid. My modification installs were based on your videos, so thanks. Question (1) did you ever do a lift on your Tundra? If so, which did you go with? I'm considering the Westcott Design lift system. (2) Any thoughts? I will probably go with the BFG 35x12.5x18. (3) I wanted make sure you did not need any spacers? (4) Finally, did you sell you stock tires, or just keep them stored? Thanks in advance for the response.
Thanks man, I appreciate that!…no lift yet, I’m most likely going to go with Kings or Dobinsons, haven’t decided yet…too many mixed reviews on the Westcott, I don’t want to sacrifice any ride quality especially when offroad…and yea I got rid of my stock tires, they were honestly trash…hope that helps, let me know how ya make out!
I just purchased a ‘24 Tundra TRD PRO! What an amazing rig. I have a question for you or anyone with some knowledge. I will be wrapping mine with MT Baja Boss 35’s 12.50 R18LT. Will I need to run any spacers? I will also be doing a leveling kit on the front.
Excellent man good vid
Thank you!
Nice! I suspect 3M VHB tape would work well in holding the liner back.
Thank you!…yea absolutely, plenty of options to hold that back, thanks for watching!
thanks, was planning to get a skinny 35 (285/75R18) and I guess all I need to worry about is the fender liner. That said, do you get any rub on full flex?
Nice video! Nice truck! Think its the same on the 2024 Platinum?
Im getting my 305x60r18 ❤ cant wait with nitto ridge grappler ❤cant wait for the new look no more 275/75r18
Nice!
love those kenda klever
Me too, my favorite tire!
Man nice work. I wish I can put one in like that in my TRD pro.
Thanks Jim, I appreciate it!
I wish I have that tire on my truck. It would make easy for me to tow a 11000 pounds boat out from the water. Man the tundra really works like a horse. I love it. Also I drove it to New York City and back from Boston. One tank of gas made my day. Very good in gas.
I went with a 1.75” RC in the front and a Cornfed 1” in the rear
Great video! I think 285 75 r18’s will definitely work then. They’re only 11.3” instead of 12.5. What happens to the safety sense features with the bigger tires?
Thanks Chris!…yea they should fit without any problems at all!…and safety sense features all work perfectly with no adjustments, haven’t had any problems with that, thanks for watching!
May I know what size spare tire close 35s can fit that space?
Would a mild spacer with those 35s allow you to keep from not modifying or removing your mudflap and liner?
Those look good because the Tundras new Aggressive redesign look😮
Thank you, I completely agree!
Looks amazing! I wonder if they would work on my 2019 TRD Pro, without any mods??? It makes your truck look like it should, right out of the factory.
Thank you, I appreciate it!…I had them on my 2020 Platinum as well but that truck did have a 4/2 lift installed…not sure about stock height, let me know if ya pull trigger and how ya make out!
35’s look 🔥
Thanks Tate!…much appreciated!
Thx for the info.. I recently put a 3" lift on mine with some 35s and they are rubbing even with the lift. But I think its actually do to my wheels having a +1 offset. I am going to try removing that block (whatever it does) cause it seems like that is where its rubbing. Your video helped a lot. Otherwise I wouldn't have known it was easy to remove that block.
No prob, thanks for watching!…yea that block is definitely easy to get outta the way, lemme know how ya make out!
I've seen people take that block and cut face off to remove 'deep sides' then reattach and reinstall with less thickness.
How do the 35s ride and what your mpg average?
Where to get these tires and what brand?
have you get any steering vibration on any certain speed with that 35 tire? also how many mileage it reduce compared to stock tire?
How did you calibrate the new tires set up?
Hi how’s the noise level on highway and local road Ty
Does 35” fit under the truck ( spare tire )
would love to see you do 37's on the next set, razor blade in a tire;)
Hahaha…I’ve considered 37’s, but we’ll see!
Have you tried cutting that back/inner half of the mudflap off and securing the remaining outer half of the mudflap to keep the mudflap capability of splash and possible rocks on the fender paint?
I haven't, but you can definitely do that!...it only hits on the mid to inner section so if you trimmed that it would absolutely work!
How are those tires in the snow?
Looks cool but I wouldn’t want to take parts off from rubbing what do you think about 34s do you think they would rub as well?
It's tough to say, but I think they would clear...these have a very aggressive pattern and just barely hit, so 34's would probably be good to go...I've even seen people say some 35's don't rub...all depends on wheel offset and pattern of tire, and if it's a "true to size" tire as well
great video and great info.
does it make a lot of noise when it rubss the mudflap?
can you reinstall the mudflap after the metal bracket delete?
Thank you, appreciate it!… I wouldn't say it's anything super loud but you can hear it… And yeah you can reinstall the mudflap, and maybe just trim the inner portion where it rubs but unfortunately removing that metal bracket doesn't do anything for the flap itself
after watching many videos and this one many times, i realized that the trd pro wheel is actually 18x8 AND A HALF. this will approve a 35x12.5x18 size tire, thank you again, youre the only one that actually shows this on the inner side, and i just removed my wheel and tire to triple check and yes 18x8.5 wheel bbs :)@@NitroZ18Fishing
Very interested in those tires for my pro. Snow and ice performance is most important for me while still being an all-terrain. Have you daily driven on a lot of slick roads with them? Sorry to ask but I’m not sure where you are located.
No problem, happy to help!...I live in Northeast PA, so I've definitely been through lots of winter weather with them on my last truck (2020 Platinum Tundra)...couldn't be happier with the performance, I actually have a couple videos on the channel with them on the Platinum, they're my new favorite tire for sure!
@@NitroZ18Fishing Thank you very much for your reply!
Beat vid on 35 on stock
Sold!
Thanks
Thank you, I appreciate it!
Looking good.
No rubbing when off road?
I have a 24 limited with 35’s that are 12.5” wide also. With the TRD Off-road package and 3” lift. Is your tires rubbing your front sway bar when fully turned?
Not at all, they don’t touch the sway bar at any point…hope that helps!
Do you get any rubbing when the suspension is compressed? Anything rubbing up top?
Haven’t had any other rubbing at all…haven’t really beaten it up yet either but it’s got plenty of clearance so I would imagine it’ll be good to go…I’ll update if anything changes!
No tire expert here but wondering if you can answer some questions for me. Just got my TRD Pro in June and I hate the Falkens. Was told I’d have issue with the 12.5 on the rim and needed a lift to put on even BFG Ta Ko. Wonder if that’s true and if it’s an issue with the wheel.
Do an 11.5. I just put Mickey Thompson Baja legend exp’s on mine. 35x11.5x20. However I did put the wescott leveling kit on mine.
Not an issue at all, my local tire shop tried telling me they wouldn’t fit too…after showing them my channel and them realizing I know more about tires than they do (which is scary), they agreed to mount/balance them for me…I wasn’t a prick about it, I just had a polite conversation with them about all the research I’ve done and my experience with Tundras…afterwards they thanked me and took a couple pics of the truck…lol
Wouldn’t wa t to remove anything for tires!
can you measure how tall the truck is? curious if it will fit in the garage with 35s.
Absolutely, I’ll try to remember to grab a measurement tomorrow for ya, but I can say it fits in my garage with no issues at all…I have standard 7’ doors so if that’s what ya have you’ll be golden!
I can’t seem to find a retailer anywhere to purchase these tires. How’d you get yours?
Actually got mine off Amazon!...here's the link, hope it helps!
amzn.to/41in7tn
Gotta appreciate some good R & D
Thanks man, I appreciate it!
Capstone 22" rims, anyone you know of tried these on that model? These look awesome.
I’ve never seen them on those particular wheels, but I honestly think they would look good on just about anything!
how does is perform off road? when you have articulation does it touch?
They’re awesome offroad, love them all around…no touching so far, and I’ve had em flexed/extended pretty extreme…hope that helps!
If you put the mud flap back on after removing that bracket, does it still rub?
If would, but you can trim the mudflap if ya really wanted to!
*it would
Mine is the TRD off-road with R20 this tire side won’t fit mine right ?
You would just have to get the 35x12.5x20 instead of 18…hope that helps!
really dumb question. When doing that, aren't you supposed to reprogram the speedometer?
You can, but don’t have to…I compared mine to GPS and it’s only off a couple once I get above 35-40mph…even at 70+ it’s only off 2-3 so I never worried about it
HI nice video sorry to ask you did you put the mud flat back?
Thank you!!...left them off, may trim the inner side where it hit and put em back on
@@NitroZ18Fishing ok do you know where i can find them? i tried but the only i found is not original thank you
If you're looking for the OEM ones you can always order directly from dealer...any dealer should be able to get em for ya, hope that helps!
@@NitroZ18Fishing thank you
Спасибо старина, всё пояснил.
I will not altar safety to save money a 2 inch lift would rectify this problem not removing a crash component
Seems the wheels need to be wider to fit the 12.5 tire
No problems at all so far, but I'll keep yas posted!
Does this change height of truck with the new tires?
Yeah. Makes it 2" higher
Title say's, 2022 Toyota Tundra. But the video has a 2023 TUNDRA TRD Pro?
No sir, mine is a '22 TRD Pro
Will it work on any 2023 models?
Yepper!
How is the MPG now with 35 ‘s ?
You lose 2mpg on average
I lost about 2.5-3 after these tires if I remember correctly…I’m way down now after installing all the overlanding gear 🤣🤦♂️
Looking nice the MPG any change with 35 inches?
I have been told it is a big difference and it is always searching for gears. It is a small gas engine for the weight.
Thanks man!…I lost about 2.5-3 if I remember correctly
@kelly, no issues at all with searching for gears, more than enough power for the 35’s…even after I’ve added all the overlanding gear, still plenty of power and no problems…hope that helps!
I wanna get some AT tires on my stock 24 tundra , it has no lift at all and I have the 20 inch rims , is 33 inch diameter the max I can work with without rubbing ? I don’t wanna rub or have to cut anything really lol
You should definitely be safe with a 33…especially if it’s 11.5 wide instead of 12.5 like mine…I don’t see you having any issues at all with that, hope that helps!
@@NitroZ18Fishing thanks a lot I appreciate it , I’m too broke now to get a lift and tires and rims or I would haha so just trying to do the best with what I got
Absolutely, happy to help!…and trust me, I understand, this hobby ain’t cheap! 🤣
@@NitroZ18Fishing unfortunately I measured and 33s are what is on there now so I probably can’t go bigger with stock suspension
Damn, that sucks man…it’s a good reason to start with a lift though!🤣
Did you have any rubbing on the sway bars
No running there, thankfully!
*rubbing
Hows the noise on the highway?
Not bad surprisingly for such an aggressive tire…doesn’t bother me at all
So now it’s useless with any kind of flex off road?
Not at all, in fact I’ve had it off road countless times and I’m amazed at the flex/extension on stock suspension with this Pro…when flexed the wheels/tires tuck up under wells with no issues, and I have full extension even with the air bags I’ve installed (kinda pushes those to the limit but I still get full extension)…hope that helps!
Any alignment needed?
No sir, I didn’t re-align after install
Add a 6 inch lift.
Westcott Designs leveling kit and your truck will be money.
It’s on the way!…stay tuned, install video coming up, and then of course a review video after a little use, thanks for watching!
@@NitroZ18FishingHi I just installed the WSCTT leveling on my TRD Pro 22 and only used the collar on the shock the upper spacer gave to much lift and axle angle was too much and the truck cannot be alligment ,collar only close to 1.25 inch lift.
I might've just cut out that corner of the mud flap.
Absolutely, I’ve considered doing that and putting them back on!
TRD pro has 3” factory lift right?
No sir, the 3” lift is an add on…the Pro comes with the Fox suspension, if I remember correctly it’s 1.1” higher in the front (vs all other trims)…hope that helps!
Don't ever do the westscott lift it's terrible I've her 90%of people hate it
Sold it, never installed it...I'm happy with ride quality as is on the Pro, I'll eventually lift for more off road clearance but I'm good for now!
You forgot to show how it drives.i bet it rubs without spacers..
What a poor design not having tow hooks on the front or back!
Totally agree with that!….CBI bumper on the way, that’ll solve the tow hook issue in the front!
It does the font is by the skid plate
If tow hooks matter so much just buy a tow truck
Sorry buddy I like your 2020 tundra way better just not a fan of the new ones!
It's pronounced Kle-ver. Like smart, quick witted. Not Klee-ver like the knife.
The TRD has a lift kit on it .
No it doesn't. It has a front level, no lift.
As Kain mentioned, it’s not a lift…Hope that helps!
