Discovery Tales #4 - Sleeper

In this 4th Discovery Tales episode, Dick Reid & Mike Power discuss the discovery of the the Sleeper Mine, This low sulphidation deposit in northern Nevada produced 1.66 million ounces of gold and 2.6 million ounces of silver from 1986 to 1996 and it's not over yet. Sleeper might not have been found had not high gold prices kept AMAX Gold drilling for two years, following good hits out into the pediment. They might have also missed it had they not finally abandoned a geological model which didn't fit what they were finding in the drill results.
