I found a glitch in this game once, but I’m not sure if it was consistent in every copy. I discovered by accident that when I filled up my pockets and caught a snail, then chose to release it, it would fly away instead of crawl away like it normally does. I thought it was absolutely hilarious.

I can't think of any glitches I encountered during all the countless hours I've poured in to ACGC; it's a well programmed game. Surprised you were able to find so many.
And another glitch is if you release a snail when it says that you have too many items the snail will fly away but this only happens in the gamecube version.
4:56 Couldn’t you attach the items in your inventory to letters? That gives you inventory space to pick up the items and escape. You’d need an item attached to every letter, too, to be truly stuck.

If you try using a bag of bells instead of a furniture item, it does NOT work. The bag of bells will float like normal but the moment you leave and come back in the house, the bag of bells is gone instead.
At 5:00, you are not exactly "stuck" in that situation. You can put items in the letters you read, or simply use the wallpaper and carpet you have in your inventory in the room. Easy fix!
Well, the point of it was that, under the right circumstances, you can get stuck. For a more perfect example imagine I had no carpet or wallpaper in my inventory, and all my letters already had attachments in them.
2:53 this reminds me to the void glitch from Diamond and Pearl. And on 3:11 jesus christ that reminded to catchable Pokemon on Mystery Zone which the zone were falling ashes in a black void with invisible grass...
I think I may have discovered a glitch myself, though I'm not sure if I'm the first to see it. Basically, if there's a villager standing right outside your door and you save at the Gyroid, the camera jitters like crazy, and you get stuck outside. The villager in the way prevents the animation from going through properly, I think. The iris in transition still plays, but you're just standing outside your door like a weirdo. Nothing bad happens, though. If you reload the game, everything's normal. Hope you read this!
I watched so many videos featuring Animal Crossing glitches and bugs but most of these were actually new to me which suprised me since I thought I knew almost every glitch there is to this game! So props to you sir, looking forward to see even more awesome videos like these :D
this is reminding me of a dream i had a couple years back involving animal crossing glitches. i like, went across the ocean on to an island, and a villager was there but their name was messed up, alot like this, and id never seen an animal crossing glitch video. weird.
I just wanna say, the animal Crossing characters scared me so much as a kid. Like they horrified me lmao, not that I played the animal Crossing original game as I was born later than it was made, but when I had saw that my dad had the game and he showed me photos of the characters I got so frightened

Here is a weird one for you: I one time entered the house of a villager right at the milisecond of their bedtime. It did the whole long transition screen and upon entering their house it was dark and had all of their furniture still in it, but they were no where to be found. I was never able to replicate it, I'm wondering what other factors may have contributed to it. Possibly because it was a town on the unique Animal Crossing memory card?
you could have gone to the island, you just went the wrong way, get on the water go to the dock and go straight down. (you can ride the boat back or walk back if you have an action replay.)
As someone with punchy in my town, that is accurate to regular punchy, everything going to shit and just punchy trying to live It up the only way he knows how
