  • Now that we got all the Sonic cabinets unboxed and roughly setup we can start the assembly and installation. The Sonic cabinets are so much easier to install vs Saber and Lista, which is one of the reason I decided to use their cabinets for the OGHQ. The tools and foam inserts that came with my cabinets are also another big reason.

    These cabinets truly look awesome! I think they hit the perfect sweet spot for us all. Nice upgrade to the already awesome Saber cabinets.

    Are you doing youtube full time? If you are, what did you do for work before youtube and if not what else do you do to compliment youtube.

    These videos have got me looking at the Sonic site. They seem to make some really nice stuff - it's not budget friendly for me at the moment but it's something I'll have to consider working toward.

    This looks extremely awesome. Seems like pushing it back after assembly will be a pain though. Good luck!
    And it looks like the MSS+ has an option for solid back pieces rather than the "peg board". If there's a option to use them on this that would be pretty sick.

    Matt, the cabinets look great! I would suggest putting rubber grommets on the inside of the holes that you drilled. This will protect the wire from the metal edge and it looks clean.

    • @GForceConnections
      @GForceConnections 5 лет назад +2

      A cheap alternative is to get some small/thin rubber hose, cut a slit in it and slide it over the cut section of the cabinet.

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  5 лет назад +1

      Yep...I went to Home Depot to get some flat plugged extension cords and completely forgot the grommets.

    @16:50 Ultimately we are going to need to put a hole in the new cabinets.. and we all know how that goes.. usually put the hole in the wrong spot. CUT TO: @21:26 mount this here like so... UH OH!. (boy did not see that coming at all!! ;) ) Keep up the hours of entertainment Matt. Good Job and wish you all the best.

    I must be missing something. You have to assemble them from the back and then try to push them against the wall?

    Matt, since you are selling Sonic, Saber and Lista, what would be the gauge metal of the cabinets, shelving and draws, and the weight load of the draws for each manufacturer you are using. Thanks for your input.

    Better than the Saber cabinets in your wash bay?

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  5 лет назад +1

      They are about 2 times the cost. The fit and finish of these are better, but Saber has some advantages. Stay tuned for more comparisons.

    serious question, why spend so much on cabinets and soon to be thousands on tools, if 99% of any car work you do is to do with cleaning and detailing and not actually working on the car mechanically or however you wanna put it?

    • @garybeckmann5007
      @garybeckmann5007 5 лет назад

      If you listen closely, he tells you why. "They can't do it like I can do it." Matt will do a full product demo/review on these, sell them and more than make his money back. He's getting paid to create his dream garage...and it's brilliant.
      A lot of people hate on him for it, but in theory anyone can do what he's doing. The reality is most people can't/won't.

    • @humzatanvir7314

      Richardson01 I was thinking the same thing, his niche is about cleaning and washing which is actually great. I would have liked to have seen some fancy glass cabinets where he show rooms all the product. Interesting choice, I guess he's concerned more about building the 'perfect garage'.

    • @MichaelVettas
      @MichaelVettas 5 лет назад

      how long have you been subscribed? Matt has a pretty good idea on business and has always said he does things so in the long term he can then sell the product, so often with these types of niche brands they dont have content to show how things work in the day to day environment, or look at his pressure washing packages, you can buy all the parts on your own but he has spent the time researching and money working out what best works together then sells it for you at a slightly higher premium. Matts target audience would range from the enthusiast with a little cash to spend on their car to the wealthy who just want this to have it, if i had the money and space I would have a workshop like this just to tinker with and learn from.

      Simple answer to your condescending question. I work on my cars more than 99% of the population. I change the oil, plugs, brakes, wheels, and other modifications. Just because I don't like stinky old cars doesn't mean you are better than me.

    • @Richo00o
      @Richo00o 5 лет назад +2

      Obsessed Garage hahahaha condescending? I said in the start, it’s a serious question, so cool ya jets mate. I wasn’t saying you don’t work on cars, but I asked why are you putting money into more modification based equipment like a full cabinet and tool fitout, when majority of the work you do is detailing? I’m not being rude, I’m asking you. Like in all seriousness, you don’t need all that stuff just to do an oil change. That’s why I’m asking. If it’s for the reason the others commented in terms of to showcase the product so that you can hopefully sell some down the road, then that’s cool, all you had to say haha
