What do you mean by "dump" the links into Edge on your Xbox? So you don't actually go to the Discord on the Xbox? Are you manually typing in the URL's for this links from the discord into the Xbox edge browser?
If you see this in time where the hell did you get ps2 covers? Should i just go to each game and google image jpg and png? I’d rather a site with a list to go through alphabetically to download them all
You google the game covers. BUT make sure the name of the cover is the same name for the games. So copy and paste, don’t make it pretty. XBSX2 knows what it is doing.
Does this still work? The links and everything? Stupid question also, this is not illegal, Microsoft will not ban my Series X? 😂 And where to get the bios files?
Yes you can. I have always found you can get getter performance through stand alone emulators, and tend to have more control over settings. Ultimately if you are happy with RA performance, you can absolutely play there.
I started to download my roms files, but I didn't notice any bios files, where I can find those? In this moment the links are down, but I'm getting prepared already.

If you download the apps and launch them you will activate the license and it will work regardless of if the links go down again. You must launch them at least once after downloading. If the license does not get activated before they are down, the apps will not work
I have a good amount of games on my phone from AetherSX2. Would I be able to transfer those bios and games to a USB drive? I kinda got far into PoP Warrior within on my phone and would be cool to continue it on my Series S 😅
Some files can't be legally shared in comments, but there's an excellent all in one file on Reddit you can snag for the files in question that you can drag and drop straight into your Xbox via ftp.
It's probably annoying seeing me here but whatever. Anyway, I tried to do Retro arch (Your steps were great) but for some reason when I tried to play GameCube and Wii games it runs REALLY bad. Clean at first then 10 frames a second later. Do you have any tips? (Also, DS, Game boy and such runs great.)
Many games are not optimized to run on the Xbox yet and the core performance will improve with time. What we are all hoping is for a dolphin stand alone emulator to be released which would be ideal for game performance on wii and gamecube.
Dome retroarch cores require their bios files within a sub folder (ps2 and dreamcast as examples). Most others are okay just in a main folder. You will need to look up the core online to see which cores you need to do it with
Ok so I have another question I'm hoping you can answer. They've put up a newer version of the retroarch app on discord. Do I need to download that to update mine? Or will it just automatically update the one I currently have. Also, if I do have to re-download to update would have to setup everything all over again?
Is this still working because the link to xbox emu hub is not recognizing that I have discord already on my phone and keeps telling me to download to all devices
Don’t worry your system won’t brick or anything. Sadly you can only play on dev mode since Microsoft took down the retail version. Until we found a way to do retail legally or find an exploit, you will have to use the dev mode guide.
Oki so i have a question do I need a pc for this or can the games on Microsoft edge on my Xbox and add them to my emulators with having to use the usb or hard drive cuase if not I’m not joining the discord I don’t have a usb or hard drive and I just wanna be able to play Godzilla saves the earth again I miss it so much and Xbox won’t make it backwards compatible

Thank you for another great tutorial! I added some gamecube games but can't get Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2 to work. The screen goes black and then it shows the title but never loads the starting screen. It seems like series s would be powerful enough to play it. Any suggestions?
Any time a game doesn't work, check to see if the emulator has its core files, like the BIOS. If the core has all files and the game still won't run, check the Reddit to see if it's supported.
Rogue Squadron on GC is notorious for how ridiculous Factor 5 went in making that game. Makes it insane to emulate properly at full speed. Depending on which version of dolphin retroarch on XSeries is using, yeah good luck.
I did notice with the recent update for retroarch, since I just had to recently delete and reinstall the emulator, that when trying to scan a directory when making the Playlist, it would not populate the system folder at all it it would still be blank at the bottom of the list. Glitch?
I'm thinking about getting a Series S for emulation and I was wondering from those in the comments how worth it - it is? I'll mainly emulate Arcade, Nintendo 64, GC, and some PS1. How is it for these?
This video is decent enough. The emulators are not updated enough to the point where the video is outdated. If you need some help with configuring the games to run better, you can talk to me, or you can go to Reddit. BUT REMEMBER: if you want to use a USB, I recommend using a 1T. (I use a 1T Seagate) Trust me on this. If you want to add another game, just completely turn off the Xbox and unplug the USB. If you need. Ore assistance I’m here.
No you won’t. You are perfectly fine. I have been using these emulators since this video has been put up and there hasn’t been any issues. The only issue though was someone uploading their clips of their emulator on Xbox live and getting their account suspended. But to resolve this is to tell your console not to upload anything on Xbox live automatically/manually. But overall, you are perfectly fine.
@@bkproductions383 cheers buddy, but could you explain more on the Xbox live thing? So if I press screenshot for my own keeping (without sharing to any social network), I could get my account suspended? And how do I make it not upload automatically? (Partner account hi) I am just gonna get to the point. Follow along to the steps to make sure no mistakes happen; Settings - Preferences - Capture & Share. Change these settings: *Allow game captures* - Captures by me *Automatically upload* - Don’t upload. If you do this you have no problems and you can screen shot or record without uploading to Xbox Live.

Google. It’s illegal to share BIOS/ROMS on public. So you are better on searching in Reddit and the such. But please be aware of Malware, so I recommend on using a software called total viruses to scan for viruses. Saved my Bacon a couple of times.
So far no body has been banned for using them I did hear there was a temp ban on an account for sharing screenshots to Xbox live or something, but not for using it the emus on their own
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've placed my games and bios folder on my usb drive. Copied the dolphin-emu folder which has the system folder in it into my usb bios folder. Not all gamecube and n64 games. I have not tested every one, but because the cores are not optimized there will be some issues for sure. What we can hope for is eventually we get stand alone emulators for those consoles I'm the future.

It's a pretty niche title (Gaelic Games: Hurling) that I want to get right as a surprise for my nephew, but saw someone else playing it earlier and it ran at like 20fps, and had a lot of visuals glitches.
What do you mean by "dump" the links into Edge on your Xbox? So you don't actually go to the Discord on the Xbox? Are you manually typing in the URL's for this links from the discord into the Xbox edge browser?
Yes you get the links from discord, and you manually type them into the address bar of Microsoft edge on your console
No push the link and edge doing the rest for you. Only push the puton
@@Restalgia excellent! Thank you so much for the reply. Great video... Now to catch that upload!
@@bdanka50 links are live right now
@@Restalgia YES! Just noticed. Thank you! I hope I'm able to catch them by the time I get home
@@bkproductions383 badass, thank you!
No problem.
Does this still work? The links and everything? Stupid question also, this is not illegal, Microsoft will not ban my Series X? 😂 And where to get the bios files?
Yes
Yes
Yes (if you don’t stream on Xbox Live.)
And we can’t legally tell you. So you have to google research, but stay safe from Malware sites.
Funny enough, I ordered another Series X that'll be here tomorrow to do this lol
Thank you for this!!! Just curious, how did you make RetroArch dark? On my Xbox, the screen is gray. I like the black a lot more.
You should be able to go in settings. There are a bunch of themes in there snd color options.
@@Restalgia Thank you.
@@Restalgia sorry to bother you witch one do I have to install for xbox series x
I'm curious, why do we need Flycast? Couldn't we could just run Dreamcast stuff in Retroarch using a Flycast core?
Yes you can. I have always found you can get getter performance through stand alone emulators, and tend to have more control over settings.
Ultimately if you are happy with RA performance, you can absolutely play there.
@@Restalgia Thank you! I will try both.
Nope, runs native on the Quest 2
Can you still use Xbox game pass along side the emulators without risk of getting banned ?
Yes, I currently am with no issues
@@Restalgia So risky though is it not? I have hundreds of digital games and dlc bought on console I'm scared to do this and my PC sucks for emulation
@@GazJrpg nothing is risk free, but this process has been around for a long time if you include using Developer mode and nobody has ever been banned.
You can not get banned using this... ONLY the dev who put the app up can possibly get banned here.
I started to download my roms files, but I didn't notice any bios files, where I can find those? In this moment the links are down, but I'm getting prepared already.
Check Reddit. There's an all-in-one that has all the files in a directory you can simply drag and drop via ftp.
I type the url. And it brings me to a blank Xbox store? Any idea why?
It happened to me too.
The apps were removed from the store. Follow the discord channel for updates.
Do it right now the server is working
Is the video on online play for XBSX2 still coming or does it no longer work?
Yes it is, sorry been super behind on content. Should be very soon
@@Restalgia thank you for the response. I look forward to that
I'm slightly confused, as for the apps being up or down, if you download the apps, and then they get taken down from the store, does that mean your unable to access them if you've already downloaded them??? apologies if this sounds slow i'm just trying to understand that one bit lol.
aside from that great video, can't wait till i can afford a Series S!
If you download the apps and launch them you will activate the license and it will work regardless of if the links go down again.
You must launch them at least once after downloading. If the license does not get activated before they are down, the apps will not work
@@Restalgia And with the updates, the apps do that them self?? or do you need ot redo te steps again??

I have a good amount of games on my phone from AetherSX2. Would I be able to transfer those bios and games to a USB drive? I kinda got far into PoP Warrior within on my phone and would be cool to continue it on my Series S 😅
This is late but yes u can just make sure it's in the right folder when you move your saves
@Cristian Gomez awesome to hear!! Will be trying it out soon
Can you put the links either in the description or the comments pls?
Some files can't be legally shared in comments, but there's an excellent all in one file on Reddit you can snag for the files in question that you can drag and drop straight into your Xbox via ftp.
so,... If you have an XBox, it's not worth buying a miniPC for retro gaming? Just use your old Xbox One S
At least you can show how you put the games on the flash drive instead of skipping that step
You litterally drag and drop them.
I love this option 🎮
It's probably annoying seeing me here but whatever. Anyway, I tried to do Retro arch (Your steps were great) but for some reason when I tried to play GameCube and Wii games it runs REALLY bad. Clean at first then 10 frames a second later. Do you have any tips? (Also, DS, Game boy and such runs great.)
Many games are not optimized to run on the Xbox yet and the core performance will improve with time. What we are all hoping is for a dolphin stand alone emulator to be released which would be ideal for game performance on wii and gamecube.
Okay, thanks and sorry. But yeah hopefully a stand-alone like XBSX2 or time.
Update: Oh look at that, there is.
Does it matter if you have your bios files in sub folders or do you need to just dump them all in one folder?
Dome retroarch cores require their bios files within a sub folder (ps2 and dreamcast as examples). Most others are okay just in a main folder. You will need to look up the core online to see which cores you need to do it with
@@Restalgia thank you
Ok so I have another question I'm hoping you can answer. They've put up a newer version of the retroarch app on discord. Do I need to download that to update mine? Or will it just automatically update the one I currently have. Also, if I do have to re-download to update would have to setup everything all over again?
Currently if you update you have to reconfigure everything again 😞
where can I get the files for these emulators?
Can I use my phone instead of using PC?
So when you click import games to create a playlist does it actually import the games in to the console or do you still have to use the hardeive/usb
Still use the drive. All the Playlist does is create a path from that new Playlist to the location the games are so you can navigate there quickly.
@Restalgia oh alright. Thanks by the way the video was very helful.
this might be a silly question, but im new to xbox, can you do all of this (emulation) on the digital model of xbox series s?
Yes, all the footage you see in this video was done on the Xbox series S
do you lose access even if the apps are downloaded and installed on your Xbox Series S/X but are taken down from the Microsoft store?
No you don’t lose access. Once you download it, no matter if the links get taken down. You will still have access
Is this still working because the link to xbox emu hub is not recognizing that I have discord already on my phone and keeps telling me to download to all devices
If I do this on my Xbox profile will doing this effect my online profile at all?… or am I good
Is this ok to do, I don’t want to like brick my Xbox or have anything bad happen. Just want to make sure this is 100% safe and legit
Don’t worry your system won’t brick or anything. Sadly you can only play on dev mode since Microsoft took down the retail version. Until we found a way to do retail legally or find an exploit, you will have to use the dev mode guide.
Doesn't work anymore u gotta wait for a guy on discord to enable the links which is hardly ever
I tried to change the controls for the wii and I switch off turned it off by accident, now I cant move anything on retroarch
If it’s glitchy beyond playable, then delete it and wait for the apps to come back up and download it again. It will reset the app.
Just asking, let’s say I want to include another file on my Drive, but it’s plugged into my Xbox. If I turn off the Xbox and unplug the usb and plug it back in later, will there be any issues or will it be fine?
Will be fine.
@@Restalgia Okay thanks. But one more question. In your BIOS Files on your USB, to be clear they are only for Retro arch or are they for XBSX2 and everything else? Like do I need to search the Internet for the BIOS to run PS2, Wii, PSP, etc., discount ROM for games?
@@bkproductions383 you need bios files for dreamcast, ps1, ps2, and any other disc based console.
So you need the bios files for the consoles you want to play. If you look up the the retroarch core online, it will tell you if a bios is necessary and what the name of the file(s) are to make your search easier.

Any time a game doesn't work, check to see if the emulator has its core files, like the BIOS. If the core has all files and the game still won't run, check the Reddit to see if it's supported.
@@12ealDealOfficial It does have bios needed. When I chose dolfin as emulator it old or new to choose from. Is one better?
Rogue Squadron on GC is notorious for how ridiculous Factor 5 went in making that game. Makes it insane to emulate properly at full speed. Depending on which version of dolphin retroarch on XSeries is using, yeah good luck.
Can you play any retro game with this emulator ??
I did notice with the recent update for retroarch, since I just had to recently delete and reinstall the emulator, that when trying to scan a directory when making the Playlist, it would not populate the system folder at all it it would still be blank at the bottom of the list. Glitch?
I'm thinking about getting a Series S for emulation and I was wondering from those in the comments how worth it - it is? I'll mainly emulate Arcade, Nintendo 64, GC, and some PS1. How is it for these?
Definitely worth it. I am unsure about PS1, but yes definitely worth it.

This video is decent enough. The emulators are not updated enough to the point where the video is outdated.
I am just gonna get to the point.
Follow along to the steps to make sure no mistakes happen;

Change these settings:
*Allow game captures*

*Automatically upload*
