I wish they'd at least make digital versions of the older PS3 games. I have them on disc but my Blu-ray drive died years ago. Sony needs to bring the PS3 controller out again too. They were in too much of a hurry to get rid of the PS3. All of a sudden you couldn't buy any hardware.
There are so many PS3 games that I never heard about until now. That I'd love to be able to play on my PS5. I was into other things than games back in my 20s, than I am now in my late 30s.
I have around 200 PS3 games on disc, some of them still in their wrap because when I migrated to PS4 it was too much of a hazel to have both consoles out. Now with PS5 having PS4 compatibility it was a much better experience, but if they add PS3 to the same machine that would be a game changer.
I have about 150 discs and my PS3 sits proudly alongside the PS5 in my TV setup. I have a big backlog of games not available for newer consoles that I still want to play.
I really want to play Sleeping Dogs and Dante's Inferno. I can run them in 4K at 60 FPS on the emulator and they look better than some next gen PS5 games.
Sleeping Dogs a remake would be nice, and Donte inferno, killzone 1 and 2. Fight Night/s. Always wanted a remake of Motorstorm 1 and 2, seeing all that mud and mayhem on the new gen would be sickkk.

2009 was a great year for PS3. As soon as the PS3 slim was released, I bought one and in a few weeks Uncharted 2 was out . Playing that opening scene in U2 will be one of my favorite gaming moments.

Ratchet Rift Apart sold like Ass on PC, so I don’t see them spending for that again and then thousands of people complained about too many remakes, but obviously they’re going to want the AI to remake as much as possible. I think that’s the main reason they haven’t pushed, they just want a way to completely unlink the Cell architecture from the games.
PS3 was so good as a console and more. I cannot wait to get mine out of storage...someday. Resistance: Fall of Man needs a remaster with no story changes! Heavenly Sword would not be a problem to release. Say what you want about Sony, they have always been smart about owning the games they publish.

If they focus on optimizing games that are locked to the PS3, robust emulation wouldn't be a huge undertaking, just ignore the games that are on the PS2 and/or PS4, and use the PS2 or PS4 version.
@Eric-ui3nk Depends on where you live. For me it's perfect. I get like 530 Mbps down & 200 Mbps Up. If memory serves me right, it takes a connection of 50 Mbps down to stream 4K video.
Native is not possible on the PS5 since it lacks the hardware for it. There is no Power PC based Cell CPU on the PS5. Sony will likely just port games over and rely on emulation like Microsoft has. Nothing is going to beat pulling the PS3 out of the closet and playing on that instead.
I would love to go back and get some platinum trophies for my PS3 games. Sure I still have a working PS3, but I don't want to dust it off and have to switch HDMI cables. If I can just keep it all on the PS5, I will be happy.

You don't want killzone 2 again like it was I tried it about 6 months ago bought two and three played it for about 20 minutes before I had to put it down because of the bad controls. I don't know how I got used to it back in the day but it was my first multiplayer and it was my first game playing dual analog sticks.. I would pay full game price though if they sold the emulator. I still have my ps3 games.
And if you look at many remastered they just paint a new colour or something! Don't get wrong i love most of the remastered games but that can be the nostalgia in me talking!
