- In this weeks video I’m going to work on a couple of house projects that’s I’ve been putting off. I’ve wanted to do something with my coffee table for a long time and I couldn’t decide what. Finally tackling it this week. And my plants really need some repotting and I’ve been putting it off.

Yes, Old English Scratch Cover would be great for the table and kitchen cabinets. I have a bottle of the dark and it is very dark, so I think the light would work.

The table looks great!!!! You could try a wood marker to just hit those scratch marks and gouges. May not be a perfect match but it helps. Thanks for the motivation!!!!!
That's what I was going to say
I use Old English Dark Wood Furniture Polish (scratch cover) on my furniture. I apply it and let sit for 10-15 minutes and then buff out. It does wonders and tends to last a longer than other polishes. My mother in law said they would use used motor oil back in the day to cover scratches on wood furniture. Love the make over on the coffee table! 😊
Great job on the table makeover- I can’t get over the difference it made!!! Have to tell you about my play date with my grandson- it was FABULOUS- my husband said he had not seen me smile that much in a year! I got so many hugs, kisses and snuggles in - I was over the moon. He is 3 and I was snuggling him and kissing all over his face and he was laughing…well I stopped for a minute and he grabbed my face and put it next to his for more! OMG YES! He didn’t have to tell me twice! Grandkids are the absolute best thing in this world! They spent 5 hours with me and I cherished every minute. You brighten my day with your videos- have a wonderful week!

The coffee table makeover looks great! I wouldn’t get rid of it either! The side shelves are very useful and the table is the perfect size! 💕 Your plants are beautiful and you can’t beat $2.99! 🎉
I have an aloe I bought from a grocery store about 10 years ago. Every year I get about 15-20 pups and the one main plant is now four large plants that all produce pups. lol I sell them at my stockpile sales every summer 🤣❤️ thanks Jodi

Mine are multiplying too. 😂 For years I have said when my son moves out it would be a death sentence, but since he got a job and isn't around as much and I'm getting better systems in place for the garden and carried it over to the houseplants. 😊

The table looks great. With particle board you need to allow time for that glue to dry and hold. Yes, still use the clamps. I would also use wood markers for the scratches. Once they are covered up the Liquid Gold or furniture polish will help to keep scratches in check. ✔ Your plants look beautiful!!🌿🍀💜💙💛💚❤💞💖

I found some wonderful vintage solid oak pieces at my local Goodwill for $6.99 each. I got two sofa tables and a plant table. I actually found my coffee table on the side of the road. I'm sure you could find a new coffee table that you like for under $20 at the thrift store.❤🎉 also Old English scratch cover will cover any scratches. You may have to put it on when you dust or clean it but it works so great! And I am an interior designer. And I have proven you don't have to spend a bunch of money to make your house look great. The caning that you put in the coffee table doors look great. It doesn't look crooked at all! Great job!🎉❤❤❤

A trick for upholstery (& drums-my hubby plays) is to tack the centre on 1 side then tack centre on opposite side...it keeps things centred/straight n tension stays balanced...then work to edges using same opposite technique!

There are markers that are designed to cover furniture scratches. Also, sharpies come in a rainbow or colors including copper and other brown tones. I've also used a matching spray paint. Spray the paint on a scrap of something plastic, butter lid, then quickly use a tiny paint brush to apply right onto the wood ding.
Painting the bedroom, which needed it so bad, that when you took pictures down there was outline of where they hung, Ugh, shampoo the rug because who ever moves the bed? My vacuum won't even fit under there, so a nice face-lift is in order, a good declutter, new curtains, bedding and pictures, I want it to be a clean more restful feeling space. Thanks for the motivation, from Seattle.
The table came out really nicely. My experience with wood glue is that you have to clamp it in place and let it set for twenty four hours, but it is suppose to be a stronger connection than nails or screws.
I love plants too, though most are outside. I can’t tell you how many bromeliads, spider plants, and other things we have. Great job!

Hi Jodi, I love all the DIYs & the up dates! Your plants are great they sure like it at your house. I have pathos & a spider plant that I almost killed! But it's getting better. I've had the prayer plant & don't now. But I want to get another one soon. Also, a shamrock plant I love those, too. They take a lot to kill. I have let them dry out too much & they grow back from their roots. So they are pretty easy to take care of. Well, I love your table & what you did is very good. There are color sticks you can buy with different colors of the wood. Also the polish that helps the spots & nicks. to go away. Anyway, you're a great planter lady or maybe a green thumb lady! Great job updating your coffee table, I should do something with mine. It’s a solid wood Mission style… but it’s scratched up something terrible and all 4 corners have been gnawed on by the dogs. I would really love to get an oval or round shape… Your plants look fabulous! Really like the lemon lime prayer plant. I have very few sunny areas in my house, I have deep covered porches that block the sun. I have a few window ledges that are sunny but the cats have claimed them as their own and they won’t share.

The hubby bought me some plants last February for my birthday...o e is a pathos plant...I reported it when I got it and a piece of 3 leaves separated so I potted it and too to work and it's so big now....I've since cut the original and rooted 3 more...that's my favorite house plant.

Anyway, I was drawn to your light fixture over the kitchen table when you were showing us your beauties. I think it would really elevate both the kitchen and family room if you either got a new light over the table or maybe just a paint job. Just an idea for maybe another makeover project. Your house is looking so great. Love your videos and you’re influencing me to start some projects. I want to paint my front door and add a new wreath and rug so maybe I can get motivated if I keep watching your upgrades!!

There are markers that you can get to match and cover the scratches too.
The coffee table looks so good! My daughter's dance team went to Disney for Nationals most of the team got sick including myself. I sent my husband to Kroger for Sudafed and that plant! Its beautiful, if he can't find it ill definitely be looking for it.

Jodi, the coffee table looks amazing!! We definitely know who Donna Jean gets her creativity from! As others have said, I would just take a wood marker to those scratches even if it wasn’t a perfect match. I’ve done that before to pieces that aren’t real wood and at least the scratches aren’t a light color anymore and they don’t seem to stand out AS much. And I don’t think you need to staple in the grooves. It looks the same. Thanks for reminding us that small changes make a huge impact!

Your plants are soo healthy. I suggest cutting off all dead parts so the energy goes to the healthy part.
I use restore and refinish on all my furniture, works amazing on my antiques .

It's just the way that works best for me, even if it takes two weeks! I bought containers, labels, and now my pantry is functioning perfectly, as long as my family can read the dang labels and do their part to keep the system working. Pray for us!! 😂

I made over my son's old dresser. Painted it green and put a decoupage on the font. I am now winter sowing vegetables, flowers and fruit for the growing season. Just put compost and soil in the raised bed.

Another great video! I think that's a huge Improvement on your table for sure. Maybe you could just try markers for the scratches? At least blend them in a little better if not perfectly. Also, I've seen this done on lots of craft videos, but people will use a strong permanent glue and at the same time use glue stick. They say the glue stick holds immediately and the other glue holds for the long term. I'm not sure if that would work with your table repair but I just thought I would throw it out there. Also, your house plants are beautiful! I have never had success repotting pothos in soil. All of mine now live in water.
Jodi I love your new plant. I actually had enough strength to prune my hibiscus and clean up my bird of paradise plant. I was so excited that my bird of paradise had four flowers and they were all beautiful. After coming inside the house to wash up....my husband comes inside to tell me that my gorgeous grandbaby tore off 3 of the 4 flowers. Well at least I got to see them for a bit. ❤.

The plant babies look amazing! They sell an inexpensive foldable cloth that you can button the corners together to keep the soil in.... they come in many different sizes, I think I got 1 that is 36" for the bottom part. That is maybe even a bit big since I work on a smaller chest freezer, but they do work really well!

Hi Jodi, absolute score on the supermarket plant. I know nothing about plants but that is so pretty. The coffee table……from drab to fabulous! I love it! My knees are very slowly improving, still on a walker but maintaining the house ok and having a great time everyday with my granddaughter. She will be two on Easter so I am having her birthday party then too. Only hubs, me, my two kids, daughter’s husband, my brother, great aunt, and great grandmother are invited. Not really a big family. Sadie’s dad’s side are in New York and Texas. We are in Denver. Anyway we are doing a Bluey theme along with the Resurrection and egg hunt.😆 It should be fun but I do need to do more than tidy so I will use your method of doing one little section and do it well. I have about 6 weeks and my house is small so should be doable.
