The fact that we don't properly honour game changers in our country is a problem. The late Raymond Dokpesi, Keke Ogunbe and D1 are easily the most important influence on what we call Afrobeats today. That's a fact that cannot be underestimated.

A topnotch podcast from the King of Talk... Much respect to my mentor and role model@D1Adeneye. We have only met once, and that was during his time as a Commissioner in Ogun State. He was having his early morning jogging exercise, while I was going to my Private School teaching hustle. I stopped to exchange greetings with him and he honoured it. We even took a couple of shots. D1 is so right. When in secondary school (in the 90s), the songs we used to jam then were Westlife, Blackstreet boyz, Usher, Aliyah, MJ, etc.
