Oh btw, after seeing Werewolf by Night on Disney Plus I KNEW the Man Thing wave/BAF was gonna go up!!! Man Thing was AMAZING in that.
Think I got Kitty and Rogue from Juggernaut wave on clearance at Shopko a year plus after release.

Jewel is the comic Jessica Jones figure, it came in the Amazon exc. Defenders four-pack. She's a little pricey now too.
Technically we did get a comic Jessica Jones figure but she was in a boxset
There was a Legends Phoenix from ToyBiz. Series 6. Still holds up pretty well IMO
I scored Morlun for $6.38 at GameStop recently.
That retro Hawkeye better not rest on its laurels, since next year Hasbro's releasing a Classic Hawkeye with Skycycle!

That Yondu figure still haunts me - I never saw in stores and it was always way above retail on Amazon…hate the gaps in my collection.
That Yondu is my holy grail. I passed on it at Toys R Us so many times waiting for it to go on sale in my area (NYC). It never did and then it was gone. I refuse to pay $60+ for it.
We do have a marvel comics Jessica Jones tho? It came in a rare Amazon 4-pack with the other defenders
It was a virtual pegwarmer on Amazon for a long time, too. I think it went on clearance a time or two, s many Amazon boxsets seem to.
Technically *pushes up glasses* that was Jewel. We have yet to get a comic ML of the Alias Jessica Jones.

We have gotten Jewel and Jessica Jones! I have Jewel AND 2 Jessica Jones Marvel Legends, although I head swapped one to make a female member of my Yancy Street Gang!
With the release of werewolf by night on Disney+ I can see the man thing baf rising in price.

This is why if I want something, I get it instead of waiting for the price to drop. Sometimes I pass on things that I'm not crazy about and if the price drops, I might go ahead and get it then. Sadly, I didn't start really collecting until 2019 so I've missed alot!

Great video bro. I've definitely played the clearance/Sale waiting game on Legends throughout the years. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does'nt. Always wild to see some of the oddballs that end up 5times the value on the second market though.
Stuff that hits hard in the late spring resets, especially movie stuff, probably has a better chance of ending up getting cleared out at places like Best Buy, Gamestop and Amazon later in the year.
I went and looked up the eBay and Amazon prices for that Man Thing wave during this video, and they've gone up even more now!
Since Werewolf By Night premiered, the desirability of the Man Thing BaF itself has risen considerably, whereas before it was pretty average. It's gone from selling for less than $80 to up above $130, which raises the price for the wave as a whole.
Great Video as always! I’d love to see you do this for Star Wars 3.75” figures (or just vintage collection). Here’s a few I noticed over the years: my local Wal Mart had 2 or 3 pegs FULL of Wooof figures for $6. My local Toys R Us had tons of Willrow Hood marked down to maybe $8 or so, and Brian’s Toys clearanced their exclusive Jocasta Nu figure to around $20. As you’re well aware they all go for way more than that now.
This, like the majority of your value/pricing videos, are really fun to watch. You seem like a cool dude to have a "Why didn't I buy that the tenth time I saw it?" conversation with.

Scarlet Spider and Doc Ock was a defiinite shock to me, when they were released though, there wasn't much places selling Marvel Legends in Ireland... and I hadn't started collecting (but dreamed of doing so for a while at that stage) I might try and find a doc ock, or get the doc ock with silk and just PRAY for an updated scarlet spider.
When amiibos first came out, there was the original Kirby figure that sat at the stores in my area for years. Every time I passed it up until slowly I started noticing that they started carrying less and less Kirbys until one day, when I had amassed a large amiibo collection, I wanted the Kriby one; it was gone everywhere and going for for double the retail on the second had market.
I'm still kicking myself for giving away, yes, GIVING AWAY, my Netflix Daredevil back in 2018. I had officially moved to import figures and started just giving away ML figures that weren't worth selling at the time. Now I've regretted that decision for almost a solid year.
I think some future valuable peg warmers are; the retro carded Web-Man, Frogman, White Rabbit, and anything that's Age of Apocalypse.
Good stuff Matt! Most of these figures came out before I started collecting so its not much hope for me. However, I'm heading to GameStop to get some of the Retro Spiderman villians currently on clearance. With 50% off clearance items its gonna be a big payday in 5 years when they become worth something LOL.
There’s a common theme here The Legends team needs to re-release some of Marvel Knights. I would love a new Classic Blade Luke Cage and Jessica Jones
One peg warmer that has made me a lot of money this year was the TRU exclusive A-Force 5 pack. It retailed for $120, but it was readily available and easy to obtain for about $70. The price for the set took a little hit when Hasbro rereleased Lady Loki, but it still sells for about $275 now. The biggest draws right now are for Spectrum and Elsa Bloodstone, who both have appeared in Disney+ shows and are unavailable anywhere else. Spectrum sells for about $100 and Elsa just hit an all time high of $135 since Werewolf By Night premiered. If you have any of those figures in your collection, I'd sell while the prices are high because they're ripe for rereleases, just like Loki.

I live in Ireland and have always noticed that some figures never seem to turn up here but at the same time I once found 2 toybiz variant Green Goblin (unmasked) in a really small town and picked em up for 5e each
I sold toybiz figs years ago.
Nearly all figs sat warming shelves for months!
Only spidey/wolverine/hulk/Thor were figs that sold. Even cap sat around for ages in AU.
Plus I took out the rarest 1 per box figs as literally no one else understood who characters were!?!:/

I am so happy I was able to get the Manthing wave, just missed the Electra sadly. I definitely agree it being one if not the best waves they have done.

Yeah I remember seeing the Hulk/Hulkbuster 2 pack at the target at work at for Clearance, dont remember how low it went. I don't collect Legends, but if only I knew I would have got them and held on to the them.
That Man-Thing wave was EVERYWHERE, I bought 3 each of all of them for $5 each at Walmart. Kept a wave for myself but sold the rest for $15 each and should have just held onto them lol

We're only 20 seconds in and this is exactly what happened to me with the most recent Walmart G1 Astrotrain reissues.
2:50 - I know exactly what you mean. There are times an entire wave of Transformers will just not make it to my area. By the time one wave sells out the next, next wave is next in the order queue.
There was a juggernaut wave Rogue setting at my target for months and months( the box was a little beat up but still)
I got the first MCU Captain Marvel figure (from the Kree Sentry B.A.F. wave) at a Target near me back in mid fall 2019. From what I know, she was a huge pegwarmer.
The Hulk/Hulkbuster 2-pack was NOT a Target Exclusive. I saw an entire shelf of it being Clearanced at a Portage Indiana Meijer store. At least five packs were 5% off. I passed because 5% barely scratched the tax for it.
I actually had 3 figures from the man-thing BAF wave the punisher, blade and bullseye however one of bullseye's hand pegs broke inside the peghold and then I lost the figure also got the drax figure
What depresses me, seeing the entire line of Masterverse as peg warmers. That line if GORGEOUS. Makes me wonder if they didnt put Revelations on the packaging, if the line would preform better.

I want that goblin so much, I think I saw it in a store once, but I wasn’t really buying figures at that point and I regret it.

GameStop ran a sale on that Retro Scarlet Spider-Man for $12. I was so close to jumping it and passed it up. Now I'm kicking myself
Laser was brought back recently in the donny cates venom and carnage run. I have lasher, scream, phage and got the amazon exclusive venom 3 pack on preorder so my life foundation symbiote collection will be complete.
I'm glad I got the Netflix figs on clearance when toys r us was closing.
Really wished I'd picked up that Bullseye and Blade figures. But I'll just just have to comfort myself with the BLADE movie figure I picked up back before it came out.

Those are the only two BAF's I've ever fully put together.
I remember picking up the entire Man-Thing wave for $16 a pop at my local Gamestop. Fantastic wave but I still think my favorite wave of all time is Juggy BAF. Perfect character selection and a relevant BAF.
At the Denver Fan Expo that happened this year, I managed to get my hands on the scream symbiote figure that cost $100 and a while ago at a toy store near me, I managed to get a the lasher figure for $90 which was originally $100 but the owner took $10 off for some reason.
Took me forever but I finally got ahold of the hulkbuster 2 pack last year from a local seller. I don’t live near any targets so I never saw that pack. I did go to some targets when it first came out but never saw it in store. Luckily I had patience and ended up getting them in a lot of like 20 figures so it worked out better in the end anyways
I remember pheonix being in the old Toybiz run , a pecial pheonix wave came out of them for the cartoon back then

Technically that is the second comic version of blade from Hasbro. Don't forget the 2012 epic heroes release that had the punisher variant.

the Hulk Buster 2 pack hurts. At the time I wasn't doing MCU and then I decided to do the main Iron Man armors from the movies. By the time i decided to go that route, the Hulk Buster price was already out of control.
you were right, there were a few of these that I never saw in my neck of the woods though I do have all 3 of those netflix figures. and you might be wrong about that blade figure being the only comic blade, I know there was one other one but I can't remember if it was a hasbro.
I was surprised none of the Hobgoblin wave showed up here, but I guess they never warmed pegs
There was a chase Phoenix green costume in the Toybiz line.
Actually Dark Phoenix was the chase. Green Phoenix was the standard figure.

I see someone actually pointed out we DID get superhero Jessica Jones. Bullseye had the inexplicable blue chest piece in the run that Dave Johnson was doing covers for.
So weird, I seen all these newly stocked, but didn't have the cash to buy everything. A lot I did exactly as you said, was like I'll get it later lol. Then gone
First Miles Morales figure was released as a Walmart Exclusive for the Amazing Spider-Man Movie 6-inch figure wave as a “Comic” figure.

I remember the wall of Frank and Daredevil Manthing when TRU was doing big clearance.
Not to be a stickler but just for clarity, the Toybiz Dark Phoenix was a chase variant. The regular release was the standard Phoenix costume. So technically there were two green costume Phoenixs in the overall Legends line.

I was lucky to pick up Movie Gorr and Comic Goblin (sandman baf wave) and It is very cool. I also had the chance to pick up lasher for 20$!! I didn’t know how rare it was though so I passed :(

The Man-Thing BAF is one of my most wanted assortments ever. I don’t really collect live action figures much anymore but I love weird obscure Marvel characters and Man-Thing fits that bill. But the figures are good enough that I wouldn’t want to pass them up by just buying the BAF on ebay. Now I’m probably never gonna be able to get it.

First I love the videos and this one is a particularly fun one, but I feel like inflation and Hasbro’s price jumps definitely impacted the percentages, the man thing wave came out when legends were still $20 a pop, so one discount put them at $13. This whole wave has a pretty low floor, causing their percentages to be slightly inflated. Plus it was an amazing wave that didn’t get enough love at the time
Words like "discount" and "clearance" don't seem to exist at my local walmart. They have had the same 4 dusty OrokuSaki/HamatoYoshi 2packs for the same price over the last year. They tried to switch it up and throw a couple Gremlins 2packs, to mess with the idiots. They also have Sabretooth and Havok marked with the yellow sticker, but the price is msrp....wtf.

Just discovered your channel and I love it! I take it you’re not a fan of HasLab and agree the Ghost Rider is over priced but you gotta admit Galactus was crazy cool. It’s the only HasLab figure I’ve purchased and my wife was pissed when she saw the credit card bill but I have to say it was worth the pain. Love your channel and the energy you put into it! 😂
I wouldn’t compare James Gunn making sexual comments about minors and being shelved until the heat blew over to Gina Carano getting fired for standing up against medical discrimination (this was obvious to many at the time but is especially critical to understand in hindsight as the “thing” was never even tested to prevent transmission and the government and media colluded to lie about it to the entire world).
I remember seeing Marvel Legends Nuke at the local Walgreens sitting there for over 1.5 years going through multiple $12.99 sale. I didn’t get it because I didn’t know the character. Then when they released Bonebreaker with Reese head I went to buy it but it was gone. I couldn’t find it at MSRP anymore either :(
Skullbuster, not Bonebreaker, and G.I.Joe Classified Gung-Ho (boxed version, not vintage carded) also works well with that Reese head.

It also helps when other figures like Retro Spider-man renew interest that you need the supporting characters.
The big one that frustrates me is the Hulk/Hulkbuster 2 pack. I saw it so many times and skipped it. It got clearanced and then it was gone. Sucks. Something that’s missing from the list is the Civil War War Machine and Disco Iron Man two pack. Initially it was $40 and then it dropped down to $20. It was my first marvel legends set and now it’s nearly $100 when I checked.

not true about toybiz Phoenix, the retail release was green Phoenix and the variant was dark Phoenix

Thanks for letting me know I have a very expensive Man-Thing. I bought the BAF line for the title character. The BAF is prominent in my display cabinet. Sold off the other figures on eBay. Even back then I made a decent return on investment. Part of the popularity is probably the sculpts of the figures. They did look like a lot of effort in detail was put into the figures. These days it seems like Hasbro is not trying very hard to make decent looking figures.

I sold some of my Marvel Legends for dirt cheap at Book Off a few days ago in NYC BUT I held Lasher because my bag was pretty full and was gonna hold him for the next time I visit BUT I had no idea the price went way up on Lasher. I might just sell it on Ebay instead. Thanks for this video. I would of sold him for like10 bucks. LoL
ngl im sooo happy i got the blade figure when i had the chance. because beside the very good movie blade figure toybiz did years go. the only other release of netflix daredevil and jessica jones is part of the sdcc 4 pack and well good luck with that
GOTG 2 got clearanced at Five Below in the James Gunn fallout.
That makes the low point of all the GOTG 2 figures at $5
Even in Argentina I saw a lot of this... The Man-thing wave sat on a comic book store for many months, the guy sold the BAF separately and even that didn't sell... I went into a weird phase when I begun buying ML, I bought some and then sold them because I lost a job... one of the lost figures was that Phoenix, here is somewhat difficult to find and is always a bit pricey... But I don't care very much, it's not a great figure, she was always falling over and singing :P
