To be honest, I think it's gigantic because of the batteries. The laptop could be normalsized if you take only the components into account and no batteries
that's wrong....gaming laptops don't have the strongest batteries....the reason being is that they use so much power because of the graphics cards and the display.....

Freimopp777 I made that mistake a year ago. I didn't know what i was doing, ended up getting laptop for about 900, had to send it back in twice for repair, and can barely run anything. On top of that, i didn't buy an exchange warranty with it, so I'm stuck with it until I have enough money to build a new computer and hopefully then be able to sell this piece of shit.

big laptop has lots of space for battery, right next to the fusion reactor. the adapters are only for starting the hydrogen collectors and containment fields.
in all honesty there were smaller laptops featuring the same config(with a smaller screen) so the thermal thing is better on this one but it was manageable on others.

best bet is to go with an asus gaming laptop and get the old one right when the next generation comes out. u get a decent $2k laptop for $900-1,200. i'm personally not a fan of them, but my friend will only play on fkn laptops... smh.
It really isn't close to the best... Acer is a generic famous brand for selling cheap laptops with low build quality. They might look fancy but if you look at components you can easily tell the they are build down to a price. they use nobrand capacitors, transistors etc... to earn as much as possible. if you were to look into the really high end laptops you would have to go to the less known brands such as MSI or multicom. Heck even a modded Alienware would have higher performance then this showoff laptop... If you want the best splashing cash isn't going to get you that far. research and knowledge will ;)

I wonder if they decide to refresh this idea using current gen top mobile hardware, the mobile 4090 with 13th gen Intel HX could feel very well in such a big boy with adequately more powerful cooling than what Helios 18 has to offer... Newer screen tech could also allow placement of 21"+ built-in monitor, and yet maybe the dual power adapters could now be limited to a single one...

some people want the power of a desktop but just simply are never at there home, and those people are usually fairly wealthy so it may not be very portable but it is easier to take from state to state on business trips to game or whatever in your off time. it is not meant to be used for taking notes in classes or just taken down to the coffee shop. it is meant to be placed on a desk like a desktop but be easier to relocate.

I've never heard of a mobile/portable desktop. With this I can carry it anywhere I want, just plug it in and good to go.

If the GPUs can shut off and the CPU has the right power efficiency profile loaded... I bet it could last 4 hours on a charge but the screen is so massive it probably wont.
Actually, GPUs turn off on low workload and just uses CPU... So the battery life would be pretty much standard, I think. Thought it's probably impossible to hold on your lap for more tan half an hour 😂

ultrawide > 4k. graphics cards just aren't equipped for it yet. Though it really should have been a 3440x1440 ultrawide instead of the 1080 version.

just buy a desktop pc... why would anyone want something like that
some people want the power of a desktop but just simply are never at there home, and those people are usually fairly wealthy so it may not be very portable but it is easier to take from state to state on business trips to game or whatever in your off time. it is not meant to be used for taking notes in classes or just taken down to the coffee shop. it is meant to be placed on a desk like a desktop but be easier to relocate.
you can do that with a cheaper laptop no need to pay 9k $ for somthing that isn't even worth it. You'd better make a custom pc and just game on a regular 1,5 k $ laptop if you have to relocate
+BoxCutter Then buy a sick gaming PC for 5 thousand dollars and get something like a Surface for your business trips. If you'd go to a board meeting with that laptop you'd be laughed out of the room.
