I hope she’ll get a million subs or more. Look out for her clothing line, single soul, she has some really gorgeous clothes.

    When you talk about everything going to be okay….. when I was 20 years old, my mom was in a car accident that left her in a coma for 2 months. When she awoke, her personality was very different. I remember being so upset. I couldn’t accept any explanation I came up with as to why this happened. One day I was complaining to my dad about it. Saying maybe mom should have died. I will never forget his answer. He said he is so glad mom didn’t die. It’s okay. That life is short and his job is to take care of her and someday she will be made perfect in heaven and he can wait. Well! That made everything okay after that. Somehow his words healed me. It actually has made every obstacle in my life okay. Life is to learn how to love. That is the test

    "A different life, but still an amazing life" WOW. I have a severe mental illness and I constantly wish I was "normal" and didn't have all of the challenges and emotions that I have to deal with. This quote is so inspiring and is making me look at things differently. It makes me think that I need to give up the notion and desire to be normal... and have a Different, but still an Amazing life. Thank you so much for sharing your journey and outlook.

      Normal is over rated!! I am physically handicapped as well, but I still have a amazing, wonderful life! We can take heart that the pain we endure here is temporary, for God is faithful to see us through...I give all the credit to Jesus Christ, who came to save the world. He saved me in a huge way! I will be grateful and blessed for eternity...❤

    As a 30yo woman who was disabled at 20, I really appreciate hearing about your journey thus far. I completely understand what you mean about how you wouldn't necessarily choose this situation but don't regret the process of becoming who you are. I still sometimes mourn the opportunities and experiences I didn't have as a function of my illness, but I'm also shamelessly proud of who I've become. I'm a firm believer that bad/traumatic things aren't "meant to be", but I do believe that terrible events can push us to do incredible things. And although my life didn't follow the trajectory I thought it would, I am still growing and improving and achieving in my own way. Seeing you reflect so eloquently on your experience is inspiring to me even 10 years on. It's true that things DO get better. Maybe not in exactly the way we expect, but there are so many ways for life to be good.

    • @JonathanGillies
      @JonathanGillies 2 года назад +2

      I'm sorry you are disabled. :( Bad and traumatic things are only a part of our experience because our world is under the curse of man's sin. But God sent his Son to die to bear the punishment of the sins of all those who would trust in him. Please turn from your sins and ask God to forgive your sins because of Christ's sacrifice.

    One of my friends from high school experienced a spinal cord stroke when she was young and had to navigate her youth so differently than the rest of our class. She just graduated college and from the outside looking in, it looks like she absolutely crushed it. Her college experience seemed to be so full of life and the same as her other peers. You’ve got this, your path may be different but you can do anything you want!

    I never knew people who were paralyzed could possibly walk again...that is so cool and inspiring to know! I was hit by a car last year and had to relearn how to walk properly while using a walker for a couple months, and it was so hard to deal with everything taking longer and being more complicated to do. My husband lost the use of his legs and in a wheelchair. After all the medical, we started physical therapy but I felt he needed more. I got him to a gym and a personal trainer. It took several months and baby steps. His muscles were gaining strength. He is now walking, not great, but he is walking with a brace on left leg. His left foot doesn’t work but race helps. This is just an idea for you.

    Thank you so much for posting your videos about your life and your recovery. I teach medical assisting to high school juniors and seniors so your video came up when I was searching for information on the nervous system and paralysis.
    I really am impressed with your drive and attitude as I know how difficult it can be as a teenager with physical challenges--I've had severe asthma my entire life and as a teen, I was hooked up to a nebulizer machine most days of my senior year. I remember taking my meds for 30 minutes straight and repeatedly all evening long just to manage my prom night. It's easy to get frustrated when you are faced with challenges that your friends aren't and you just somehow power through and find the bright spot in your day and a reason for welcoming the next day.
    You're 100% right, you will be okay, and your life will be magnificent because you'll make it that way. As an adult, I have traveled the world, literally climbed mountains (with lots of meds and training), had so many phenomenal experiences with incredible people who I never would have met if I'd stayed in my comfort zone and not taken risks. Best of luck to you in all of your future endeavors and I wish you much joy and success in your business and your advocacy! You are a rockstar! : )

    I love how positive you are! it's very difficult to have a positive mindset in a situation like this. I tore my acl and had to have it surgically repaired, and while that went well, the nerve block completely shut down my quad muscles for about 3 weeks which pretty much didn't let me move that leg at all. so I get what you mean by how it feels to try to move your leg but nothing happens. it is the most surreal and frustrating feeling, like you know what to do but your body forgot how. I was nowhere near as positive as you are about it, and mine was only temporary. I've definitely been humbled. I wish the best for you and I'm glad I found your channel, you're a very entertaining person with a fun personality!

    Thank you for sharing your story. We are sharing similar issues with being incomplete paraplegics. Mine was caused by a blood clot during or right after a spinal surgery and left me paralyzed from the hips down. I am at 2 1/2 years and I have heat, cold, touch and movement. Some strength, good strength in my left leg and some strength in my right leg. I am working on getting a new wheelchair that fits me. I’ve been using a transport chair from Walmart since the day I got out of the hospital so and I’m also trying to get more physical therapy I got new insurance as of this new year, my old insurance was just too difficult to get physical therapy so hopefully I’ll be up walking right behind you. stay strong

    Its so nice to see your update on the progress you are making, I only watched your video on how you became paralyzed a short time ago. I can relate too the thoughts you have been having regarding having to grow up and meeting people you may never of meet if it was not for the unfortunate event that led to your paralysation. So pleased you have gained strength in one leg. keep up the good work and at times I know it can be frustrating. I know with my experience the five years it took me had made me a far better person. Its fifty five years since i learnt to walk again but do not be surprised if you have the occasional fall or have to give your self longer in the mornings too gain balance. can I say if you use a leg brace you should still try to walk with out it on at times, Keeping the other leg moving will help to keep up some muscle and increase the chance of some feeling returning. One thing that often happens to me even now is I often bash my legs some times just ending in a bruising my leg but also cutting my leg and not even knowing about it until I fill stickiness on my foot, even now i have great difficulty moving backwards and it is impossible for me to go backwards down stairs. I do hope you will read my comment on the original post, good luck in passing your test, you have won my admiration on the way you have been able to cope (although i know you have no choice) but you video can help to inspire others so thank you,

    You are an amazing and beautiful person inside and out. You are so positive and mature. I first watched your video a while ago, that video when you were still 13 and you were narrating how you got paralyzed and I was like wow you spoke maturely and so articulate and hopeful about the future. You inspire me. I have a health issue also, and you inspire me to look more deeply on the life lessons that I got as I navigate through it. I wish you well in your endeavors.💖

    i was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis unexpectedly last year, made a video about it. i haven't dealt with many of the physical manifestations yet, but i really relate to the uncertainty part being the most difficult -- my vision of my future is different and way more up in the air now. but i do think things happen for a reason and the perspective shift has been really necessary for me -- i've stopped wasting so much time on stuff that doesn't make me happy. all the best to you!! so much wisdom here!

    Youre very cool. Also a great communicator with an outstanding perspective on things. I also really enjoy when you use the word "literally" at times when its not really necessary (thats the best). Best of luck on everything in the future, keep us posted : )
