Yeah The MD/Genesis audio sucks and the guy’s chest sticks out more and there’s less animation in the background like no dinosaurs and no breaking window glass.

@@AFourEyedGeek Yes, but the 64Kb RAM is kinda limiting tho... It's gonna need at least 512Kb if not more. 256 megs + bank-switching should be OK. The price of the game will be $200.
@@OtomoTenzi the Genesis version above uses the Genesis console and that has only 64Kb of system RAM and the arcade CPS-1 system only has 64Kb of system RAM too. The arcade uses 192Kb of VRAM while the Genesis has 64Kb VRAM so the Genesis version here uses reduced resolution, backgrounds, sprites, and colours to use up less VRAM.
The above Genesis Cadillac game is roughly a 2Mb ROM vs the arcade 8Mb. So it does work, just not as good as the arcade version. Shame the Genesis didn't have a better selection of enhancement chips like the SNES did.

Os dev kits que a Sega distribuía eram bons, mas os programadores que faziam seus próprios dev kits levavam vantagem quando tinham mais habilidades para explorar os recursos da CPU do Mega.

That was a nice Genesis Hack. The cutscenes and character stills looked colorful. In game sprites animated quite well. Especially the big dude with the ball and rope's chewing animation. As for the audio the voice clarity was well done. The special move shout was clear also the GO! voice. However the music was the was my only complaint. The audio quality was a mixed bag for each track. The Genesis can do much better like Streets of Rage 2 or Rocket Knight Adventures.
Right, all it really needs is more RAM...
Fauta bastante detalhes nos cenários pra dizer que esta ao mesmo nivel do Mega Final Fight e do Sunset Riders, que praticamente estão identicos ao do Arcade. Fauta um trato mais refinado nas cores. Mesmo que o mega tenha limitações, sabemos que da pra subir um pouco mais o nivel das misturas das cores. Não tenham preça em lançarem o game. Se um detalhe do cenário ao fundo é muito complexo, substitua por um mais simplificado, mas, sem perder a essência. Mas nunca deixe o fundo completamente vazio. Se não, vai lembrar o antigo MK1 de mega todo capado nos cenários, é muito feio (^_^). Mas o projeto sem duvida tá ficando lindo. Quando tiver com todos os refinamentos finalizados, será uma verdadeira jóia preciosa. Um tesouro inestimável de todos os tempos.
Levando em conta as limitações de um console do final do anos 80, tá ótimo e muito bem portado com belas adaptações. Só gratidão aos envolvidos no projeto.
Jogo esta todo quebrado, tem nada de bem portado. Cores do jogo precisam ser refeitos, diversas sprites precisam de polimento, bug em todo quanto, sem game State jogo todo impossivel e afins.
O jogo parece inacabado , todo em pedaços…
Sempre imaginei um port dele para os consoles, especialmente no Megão depois de ver o port de The Punisher, tô felizaço por saber que ele existe

Esse Cadillacs and Dinosaurs deveria ter saído na época para o Sega Cd e não aquela tranqueira,a intenção do Tom kalinske em aumentar a biblioteca de jogos do Sega Cd foi boa,mas foi um erro insistir em jogos FMV,o Sega Cd não foi desenvolvido pra isso.
O sega CD tinha força pra rodar maravilhosamente lindo, oh Sega viu.
Questão q talvez eles até queriam, mas a Capcom ficaria com a menor fatia da grana, ja que Carillacs e Dinossauro é de uma HQ, donos da ip ficaria com a maior fatia. Ah não ser, a SEGA fizesse a reprogramação do jogo, mas o problema iria prejudicar a lineup da época, tanto q World Heroes 2 e Captain Comando eram pra ser lançado pra SEGA CD, mas tempo nao deixou o jogos serem portados.
Teniendo en cuenta que es un "homebrew" es un port muy digno. Recrea casi todos los niveles del original, los cuatro personajes y las escenas entre niveles. Es cierto que faltan las armas, algunos movimientos de ataque y el juego simultaneo. Pero esas carencias también ocurrian en la época. Yo lo sitúo casi al nivel del port del Punisher para Megadrive.

Seria perfeito se o Mauro pegasse o jogo pra dar um acabamento final. Tá muito bom do jeito que está, perfeitamente jogável, mas claramente passa a sensação de que não usaram tudo o que poderiam no Mega Drive.
Claro que não usaram, Megão muito a frente do tempo, muito melhor que o Arcade.

The hack looks like what would happen if Capcom tried to port it to Genesis during beta testing.
It looks VERY promising, but the severe lack of RAM in the Genesis hardware is preventing this port from displaying everything properly...

It's pretty rough though the 1st area is look ugly and the port missing out the ability to run and grab weapon and the collision and hitbox also leave a bit to be desired and the music in the early stages is barely audible

A SNES port is not gonna be very likely... Or else, they could've done it DECADES ago. It doesn't have enough power/speed to handle CPS1 games efficiently. Unless this was till a WIP; if this is really the BEST that the Genesis hardware can possibly do, then just FORGET about it ever happening on the SNES!
@@OtomoTenzi Throw in a SA1 chip on the cart and it would handle it well enough, other than the lower resolution that is.

@@OtomoTenzi Haha, I know what you mean but you've gotta remember that the arcade ROM uncompressed is under 8Mb, which is amazing when you look at the arcade visuals. With some compression and smart reduction of assets, they'd get it under 4Mb.
The Genesis version above uses the Genesis console and that has only 64Kb of system RAM and the arcade CPS-1 system only has 64Kb of RAM, I can't see why SNES with 128Kb of system RAM would need more than double the system RAM of the Genesis and the arcade to do the same. The arcade uses 192Kb of VRAM while both the Genesis and SNES have 64Kb VRAM. The Genesis uses reduced resolution, backgrounds, sprites, and colours to use less VRAM, the SNES version would do something similar, but if wants to keep higher colours, it might need a small additional amount of RAM on the cart to act as additional VRAM.
Doom for SNES only required an extra 64Kb of RAM built into the cart, while the PC Doom needed 4Mb of RAM, so SNES Cadillacs would probably need the SA1 with possibly up to 64Kb of additional RAM and would have sold for the same price as SNES Doom at most. The above Genesis Cadillac game is roughly a 2Mb ROM.

On Genesis notice the background isn't there in the first scene and no steam coming out from the pipes.. (initial impressions)

A cps1 usava quase todos os mesmos componentes do mega drive, se a Capcom tivesse embarcado mais cedo mega ia ser o paraíso dos ports da Capcom.

it's a shame, this game was never officially released during the glorious era of Genesis. even though the Genesis Console is capable of porting this game in a 32 Megs CARTRIDGE size package

Que port do caramba!!!! Jesus, como o MD era subutilizado.
O problema dos 16 bits era a limitação dos cartuchos. A memória deles era cara e por isso não se podia fazer jogos grandes para não ficarem muito caros.
Hoje em dia uma memória é muito mais barata, ainda mais com os cartuchos que usam memórias flash. Um pen-drive de 1GB é barato, e com isso o tamanho do jogo deixou de ser um problema para os criadores atuais.
Não só o Mega, mas praticamente todos daquela época.
Naquele tempo não tinham as ferramentas e facilidades de agora.
Imagino o Snes, se naquele tempo foi feito algo surreal como Donkey Kong Country...imagino com as ferramentas de agora. 😂

I think the main issue with the Genesis hardware is the lack of RAM... Unless dedicated add-on RAM could be implemented on this port, I just can't see it happening!

Like FUCK it does... Capcom just couldn't ever get the licensing rights to port this game on the 16-bit systems back in the 90's. I kept waiting and waiting every year hoping for it to come out. Those motherfuckers NEVER delivered. I remember getting very frustrated and angry about it back then when I was a kid! 😡

I think this is made with blaze engine, a beat em up engine for sega genesis. Looks great but is very unpolished, maybe with some tweaks will get better.

I don't like what the dev-team did !!!
They made a HUGE mistake with the graphics part... let me explain my point :
-A CPS game runs at a resolution of 384 x 224 ! The MegaDrive at 320 x 224 !
BUT, CPS games are displayed with a 4/3 ratio which means that the graphics on a CRT screen are "kind of squeezed" to fit the 1.3333333 ratio from 4/3 screen.
What's the problem here ? Simple, the dev-team took the raw graphics from the arcade, changed the colours to make them fit the MegaDrive palettes and displayed them like that !
IT'S WRONG, because if you do that, the graphics are gonna be displayed "squached" and BTW, anyone can spot that easily by looking at the characters selection screen...
So, to do it right, they should have "trimed" the graphics a few to get the arcade ratio correct on the MegaDrive.
This Genesis version is the final version ????

Looks like the Sega MegaDrive Genesis hardware and the fan rom hack guys might have a lot of potential but it's obvious that the this is a basic beta demo...
Sega MegaDrive has plenty of sprite graphics power so with more time put into this game I am sure you can get much closer to the CPS1 arcade original much like how the guys doing the Mega Final Fight conversion.
Also the background music is definitely also a demo, I didn't get the impression that the OST chiptunes was recreated fully... so I guess we'll know months from now whenever this is finally finished up for a better comparison.
Unlike Mega Final Fight which have more than one person involved, this port of Cadillacs are a one man effort.
Of course, it's rough around the edges (you can easily cheese the bosses doing a basic combo, then go behind then, repeat, until he dies), the hitboxes are questionable , but at least it's playablaefrom start to finish.
With some extra touch on graphics, a more refined playability (like running and Cadillacs special moves), and music retouches, could be a winner.

Needs and arcade edition hack. Stuff missing which the Gen can easily produce. The coloring also can be better. The music is not good at all in the MD.

La versión de 16 bit parece no terminada , aunque hay que valorar que es un hack, le falta al menos un plano scroll, trabajar la música y samples , pienso que aún no hay comparación, pero es un buen trabajo.👍

Graphicly the Genesis port is impressive, but not in its soundtrack (which is incredible even for the arcade !)
They would first need to know how to work around the Genesis sound chip tho... The SNES had superior sound chips that could've handled it alot better, but the slow-ass CPU processor wouldn't be able to keep up with all of the action in this game!
