History of Raby Castle, Co Durham, England -
Built for John Neville, 3rd Baron Neville de Raby between 1370 and 1390, Raby Castle was home to the powerful Neville family until 1569 when in was forfeited to the Crown following the disastrous rising of the north. Sold to Member of Parliament, Sir Henry Vane the Elder, in 1626, Raby is still occupied by his descendants to this very day, and serves as a historic and very grand country house.
Although Raby serves as a beautiful example of 14th century castle architecture, the castle is not entirely dated to the medieval period, with alterations being made in the 18th century by its Georgian inhabitants. The interiors of the castle also largely Georgian and Victorian.
Raby Castle is a stunning northern landmark and sits within the English County of Durham. The castle, grounds and gardens serve as a popular tourist destination, with the estate being open to visitors throughout the year.

I am always excited to see some of my favourite historic places being used as filming locations, and Raby Castle is no exception. Raby not only featured in ITV’s Victoria and the movie Elizabeth, but keen eyed viewers might have recognised parts of this beautiful medieval castle as a filming location in Netflix’s recent fairytale movie, Damsel.

Very nice video--the effect of sunrise is stirring and impressive. And, BTW, you always pick excellent music for your vids. 😄 Oh yeah, I live in Houston and will be making my bi-annual trip to London+ April 29-May 10. CANNOT wait. I'm planning to visit Holkham Hall this trip. I doubt if I make it to York and vicinity but I might.

There's plenty of wonderful places near London. Perhaps try the Cotswolds, Blenheim and perhaps even Winsdor? All are lovely. The City of Bath is a MUST!
