This is not a Google Home review, or a commercial - just an idea I had after using the product. Note that all Google Home responses were fabricated, and it actually understood what we were saying just about every time.

Maryland is a quilt. I'm from Silver Spring (DC suburb), I've worked with folks from Annapolis, Ocean City, and Cumberland. Sounds like we all came from different parts of the country.

This is a Dundalk or old Baltimore accent. Its very concentrated to that specific part of Maryland. We do not all sound like that. However, most people that I know who grew up in Maryland do say "whudder" instead of water and "warsh" instead of wash.
Agreed, except for the part about "old Baltimore." It's still alive and well in Baltimore ... young and old.
It's all in the "ooooowes".... many Merland accents have the "oooowe" thing goin' on....

I disagree that it's Baltimore/Dundalk-specific. These guys sound just like my cousins in Gambrills. I love it. :) I apparently used to sound like that, too...

This sound straight pirate talk / coastal british like welsh or cornwall trying to sound american.
I was debating between a google assistant or an alexa, and then I remembered that I truly struggle to say google in an understandable way, especially if "okay" precedes it. Alexa it is.

This is so B-more. DMV and Eastern shore speak completely different dialects. I’ve lived in SOMD my whole life and only start to hear this when I cross the “old line.” Reminds me of West Chester PA (think Bam Margera)
