Our Sound engineers do the best job on earth to work on the sound of our live shows to make it even more "fresh", "brilliant", "differentiated" - what ever you may call it. The mixture of jazz and Arabic music constitutes a very good foundation for musical innovation - a fact that the Frankfurt Radio Bigband was already able to discover in 2013 during its project with the French-Lebanese trumpet player Ibrahim Maalouf. The Tunisian Oud player Dhafer Youssef is yet another virtuoso who manages very well to blend the sounds of Arabia with modern beats and acoustic jazz. Youssef currently does not work with a band on a regular basis - for every project he likes to get together with new musicians. An approach that perfectly fits the concept of the Frankfurt Radio Bigband. One can only wait and see what kind of program Dhafer Youssef and the Swedish arranger Magnus Lindgren will surprise their audience with this time!

Die Mischung aus Jazz und arabischer Musik bildet einen musikalisch fruchtbaren Nährboden. Dies durfte die hr-Bigband schon 2013 sehr erfolgreich in der Zusammenarbeit mit dem französisch-libanesischen Trompeter Ibrahim Maalouf feststellen.
Nun ist mit dem tunesischen Oud-Spieler Dhafer Youssef ein weiterer Virtuose zu Gast, der in seinen Projekten eine einzigartige Melange aus arabischen Klängen, akustischem Jazz und modernen Beats entstehen lässt. Youssef hat keine festen Ensembles, in denen er regelmäßig spielt. Für jede Aufnahme tut er sich gerne mit neuen Musikern zusammen. Das passt perfekt zum Konzept der hr-Bigband, die sich mit jedem Projekt einer neuen Sache widmet. Bleibt also gespannt abzuwarten, was sich Dhafer Youssef und der schwedische Arrangeur Magnus Lindgren für dieses Projekt einfallen lassen werden.

Daniel Garcia is an undisputed Genius Pianist!! I've been listening to Jazz since I was 4 in first grade!! Just watching the responses of the other genius musicians of hr Big Band while listening to D. Garcia, will tell the story!! I'm confident that Dan Nimmer, may be able to do a similar unrehearsed Solo, but I haven't seen it yet. Playing without notes, is not an issue, for Dan Nimmer, however as I understand, Daniel Garcia, was improvising, as he went on, but perhaps I'm wrong!! The look on Martin Scales face, with his eyes closed, is priceless!! I did the same for probably the first 10 times watching this video!!
