I have met Axel's voice actor before. Got his autograph right next to his character on a rare poster for KH 1.5 HD. Best way to do it. He thought the poster was awesome. Axel still remains one of my favorite characters from KH.

It was clarified in BBS, that if the Heartless containing a Somebody's heart was destroyed and the heart was released back to the darkness, (essentially with a keyblade, since otherwise the heart would just be taken by another Heartless), and then that person's Nobody was destroyed, that person would return to being a Somebody.
I just wish the game had better controls. More like how Legend of Zelda and Dark Souls had. But I consider Kingdom Hearts has the best hud, sound effects, music, and jrpg elements.

I think it's mostly the version of CoM you experience. Re;CoM was made after KH2 and with Days probably in the works, so Axel takes advantage of the extra expressiveness that 3D provides to come off less like a psycho than he does in the GBA version.
TLOZ Fo Life Sora's cool, but by the end of the prologue Roxas had been my favorite character with Axel being a close second. On second thought make that a tie. At the beginning of the game I was like wtf, where's Sora. But I came to really click with Roxas and I got excited to play as him through the rest of the game. Sadly it wasn't meant to be. But at least he got a good send off.
Axel was my favorite character in KH II (and in the series I like Saix and Demnyx too) that scene where he died nearly made me cry on my first playthrough XD. My first reaction was "He is just your typical bad guy" but later on you see a caring side (especially in 358/2 Days) and that he was wanting to help Sora and crew. I miss KH II a lot but im re-playing it again fr PS3 this year and can't wait i also can't wait fr KH III :D

I can't believe this video was uploaded 10 years ago... I used to fight the air with plastic swords along side my brother (who was always a mage) with that video playing in the background. Now I'm a college student. I miss those days. Those were the happiest moments of my life.
Axel is probably the most tragic character, All he wants is friends, connection. And he has to constantly deal with being left out. He was left out by Isa distancing himself. He was Left by Roxas and Xion. Nobody really thought of him and how it feels to be constantly sidelined. Look at his actions in Kingdom hearts 2 when he kidnapped Kairi just for a chance to see roxas again. The tears he shed for both roxas and xion felt more real than anything else. I'm glad he got his happy end.

Somehow, I can see a little deeper into the song...the beginning, like when you first meet Axel, is wild and crazy. Like it's spinning out of control. Then, as the song progresses, like the game, you see it's not so bad, but sort of softer...then it becomes passionate, soft, and wild all at the same time. A perfect fit for Axel.
