Should Nintendo Remake Zelda Ocarina of Time from the Ground Up? | Zelda Remake

- I look at the possibility of remaking Ocarina of Time to look like the unreal engine 4 footage. I know OOT was rereleased on the 3ds but I'm talking about visuals similar to the unreal engine 4 footage. Is this something you would like to see? Or would you rather Nintendo just concentre on new games? Place your vote in the poll at the end of the video.

Honestly, I'd love a OoT remake. I had a serious love for the 3DS game when I was growing up, and I think it's time to play with it again. But hey, that's just me! Great video man =D
Thanks, yeah, I think a remake from the ground up would be a good idea.
By 'Remake' I mean a significant graphical update and new game mechanics, like what Square has done with FF7. I'm aware OOT3D can be considered a Remake, and that's fair enough; although it's not what I was trying to address in the video. HOWEVER, it's my responsibility to get that point across within the video and title, and on reflection I feel I could have done a better job at doing that. I hope you guys understand where I'm coming from... all the best.
Personally I think they should hold out on another remake and work on new Zelda games. However I do think it would be nice to get a redesigned and changed version of ocarina of time like Majoras mask. For example showing how the paths split. I don't know though.
+xDARTH VADERx that's fair enough, perhaps it's a little too soon for me to be asking for something like this, but I was thinking of something more from the ground up then just a hd re-release; like you suggest, a redesigned and changed version that adds something new but doesn't take to much away from the original.
I'm all for a remake, so long as the gameplay, animations, and visuals don't stray too far from the original. I thought the re-release on 3DS was perfect, and I'd be happy with a HD release of that version with improved animations and lighting.

There should be an Ocarina of Time remastered version on the Nintendo Switch.

hmmm. oot is my favorite game in this franchise. as said they did do a remake for the 3ds. i am definitely not tired of remakes for these games. would oot stil hold up? should they add a bunch of side quests to the remake or would it be a pretty direct remake with only the graphics getting an overhaul? i would love a remake of this game. but would it sell, that's what i worry about.
+Aqua Hipsters it's a good point. I think if it was made from the ground-up and looked a lot like the unreal footage I've been seeing then yes, I think it would.

I find it somewhat annoying when people only like to play a game or only praise it because it makes them nostalgic. I love OoT because it's a great game not because I played it when I was 8 years old. I like to replay OoT because I love the music, atmosphere, story, and gameplay. Not because I did the same thing when I was 8. I feel virtually no nostalgia for OoT but I still love it as a game anyway. While I do have somewhat of a nostalgia factor for Nintendo, I still like to play their games because they're fun, enjoyable, and memorable. It's not all about nostalgia. (As a side note, OoT HD would be fucking INSANE!!)
+Aidan McCabe nostalgia isn't experiencing the same thing you once did when you were younger or else everything would be nostalgia. Nostalgia is more specifically a good feeling recreated by the very things you mentioned, ie: music, atmosphere, story, etc. Your right, it's not all about nostalgia, but nostalgia can heavily influence ones decision to buy a product all over again, hence why Nintendo makes such a large markup from classic titles. It's powerful. One of the best selling games on the Wii u virtual console is zelda OOT. Yes, I agree, a hd zelda would be nice but I personally would still prefer a remake from the ground up.

The Gaming Psychologist My personal favourite elda is Link Between Worlds, with Wind waker coming a close second. I generally tend to enjoy the 2D Zelda games more than the 3D ones, with Wind Waker being the exception.
+PsychicVortex I'm quite the opposite myself. Never really got into the handheld titles like phantom hourglass and the minish cap, but loved the fully 3D zeldas. Still not sure which is my favourite, I go back and forth.
No. It should be left alone. Honestly I don't even want a remake of FF7.
It's a nice project to tackle so that one may develop a deeper understanding of game development and architecture, but I have no interest in seeing Legend of Zelda look like Dark Souls in terms of graphic appearence. Breath of the Wild and future games are as good as they're going to get and I'm content with that.
