Here's the thing- your problem isn't with vaping but with vaping disposable vapes. There are systems out now that use replaceable pods that allow you to choose your own juice, and by extension your dosage and the ingredients in this product (which is, if you live in the United States, regulated by the FDA). In America, oftentimes what we fail to realize is that nicotine has very little to do with the harm caused by smoking. Nicotine is a minimally harmful drug when taken by itself. Over time, nicotine can effect heart health and raise blood pressure, but so can cheeseburgers. The harm in smoking comes from the physical act of smoking- the tar in your lungs, the carcinogenic chemicals they put into these things to make them more addictive, menthol (which actually does cause cancer), and so much more make the modern cigarette one of the deadliest things we've ever come up with. But if you ban the sale of vapes, you're not going to get a healthier population, you're going to get a generation of nicotine addicts that have to turn to smoking or bootleg vapes bought off the street to get their fix. With every prohibition you create, you also create an underground. The vape products that cause most health issues are almost always knockoff vapes from China that were never beholden to US (or any) health regulations and filled with god knows what. The ban on the sale of vape products will only eliminate legitimate products and allow the bootlegs to proliferate. Same happened with alcohol during prohibition, as well as marijuana, or any illicit substance we have now. And shouldn't we be allowed to choose what we put in our bodies? You're telling me that it's cool I can drink alcohol, drink highly caffeinated energy drinks, eat fast food, etc, but if I also happen to enjoy nicotine then suddenly it's bad? These are all insanely unhealthy things that millions of Americans choose to partake in that all significantly shorten your lifespan and you're choosing the one that you don't like to demonize. I happen to enjoy nicotine, as do other people. Not everyone who tries nicotine is going to want to quit, nor should they have to. This video makes my head sweat.
I have heard this argument before, that nicotine on its own is more like caffeine in terms of the effects it has on your body (ie not very harmful). I’m inclined to believe it, though I wish somebody did a study to confirm it with certainty. I suppose my main issue, like you mentioned yourself, is the OTHER stuff they put into vapes, which is why it’s a bigger problem than alcohol/high caffeine/fast food since none of those things had a 33% spike in the last couple years like vapes did (if they did then that would be an issue too). It is possible that banning them will encourage people to get even more dangerous stuff on the black market, but in that case either we need to ensure legal vapes ONLY contain nicotine and nothing else, but if that’s not possible we should just treat them like a medical device. Nobody has a problem with various medications requiring a prescription so why would this be any different if that’s what it was intended for?
@@UrKaptn My main issue here lies in the question of, so what if it's recreationally enjoyable? Like we have sweet, fruity seltzer drinks that contain alcohol, one of the deadliest drugs in human history, that high schoolers regularly drink at social functions- and yet there are currently no major mainstream pushes to regulate or ban these products. Yet when you take a drug like nicotine and make it palatable and enjoyable by adding flavor, it becomes this huge legal issue. These devices did, in fact, start as smoking cessation devices but their usage has evolved from that and they are now widely viewed as a safer nicotine delivery system, not necessarily for quitting and it shouldn't have to be. I, and other legal-aged adults, should be able to smoke a cigarette that produces zero tar AND tastes like guava, it's just great because it's cheaper and better than the cigarettes I used to smoke. And while I'm on flavors, I do see the connection between school - aged children and wanting to vape fruity flavors, but the thing we have to remember is that not too long ago high schoolers were smoking cigarettes on campus, and that shit was COMMON in the seventies/eighties and even into the nineties. Point being it's not just the flavors, but the nicotine itself, regardless of taste, (as well as peer pressure) is the major draw behind underaged smoking and vaping or just smoking and vaping in general. Because cigarettes, if you've never tried them, taste like ass. So if kids are smoking these nasty cancer sticks that they know are massively unhealthy, you really have to wonder if the appeal goes beyond guava. So when you have this generation of kids hooked on Elf Bars and whatever else is sold in gas stations and sketchy head shops, they are going to find a way to get their fix just because these devices are so much more addictive which could herald a return to smoking cigarettes on campus. The dangers are exaggerated greatly in the media but they shouldn't be ignored. There needs to be tighter control over the import of these devices and greater scrutiny exercised over the shops that sell them, but there are still a great deal of people who benefit from these devices and adding red tape and making them that much more difficult to access would undoubtedly cause a mass-relapse in smoking and wide-spanning public health consequences. Quitting nicotine should be a personal choice, as should the mode of consumption. But the ire and legislation should be directed at the unregulated imports and imposing greater penalties, both financial and legal, for shops that sell to minors and violate import laws. But at this point it's an industry that is next to impossible to uproot, so we should go about making it better for everyone.

Nicotine is a neurotropic drug It’s really an important tool. In 1992, one study in a neuro-psychopharmacology journal said that “nicotine improves attention in a wide variety of tasks” and “improves immediate and longer-term memory” in healthy volunteers. It helps to treat symptoms of ADHD, for example. Those who choose not to take an amphetamine products, can use nicotine and get some relief. Especially in school and work environments for those who are undiagnosed or untreated.

@@prodamitsu Less awful purely in how much lung damage they do, research right now, while limited, shows the damage done to your lungs is less that a tobacco cigarette. Vaping is awful for you, but it contains less carcinogens and damaging particulates. If we see the same usage of a vape vs cigarettes, fewer harmful particles are inhaled. Vaping is much more addictive, possibly one of the most addictive substances, with such high levels of nicotine which has an addiction rate from one use of near or even above opioids. From a set rate of use of cigarettes vs vapes, what we know right now, and what the scientific consensus is, is that they have less of a health impact. The CDC and the majority of major health organizations recognize this fact. (www.cdc.gov/tobacco/basic_information/e-cigarettes/about-e-cigarettes.html) being more addictive might cause them to be used much more which would be caused by a lesser amount of smoking, but on a base level cigarettes are more harmful.
Smoked since 7th grade I’m graduated already I have stopped smoking it’s quite simple it’s all mind set tbh it’s tough if you a baby type beat , but yea first week is hardest then the rest is a breeze, I tried multiple times to quit tho can’t lie then I’d go back but I’d always say “I’ll stop smoking “ then never did , then I eventually said “I won’t smoke” then now I won’t smoke simple it’s all in the mind tbh
Honestly vaping is the new smoking. Not gonna do it much like I’m not gonna smoke. But vaping weed… different story, I just don’t want a nicotine addiction.

Personally started vaping after some traumatic shit went down. Always was the friend that would call my boys out for vaping or smoking cigarettes then shit went down and it just didnt matter if i got lung cancer anymore, was gonna feel like shit either way might as well enjoy the expensive vice.
As I told another dude, nicotine isn’t going to cure your trauma or depression. Might seem like a short term remedy but you’ll need counseling if you want to see actual improvement to your mental health.
I think when it comes to vapes we should also talk more about fakes/reps because they can be very dangerous. These things get made in the garage of some dude with random chemicals that are certainly not made to be vaporised...
good, short and straight fact video, gj. By my own perspective from University student I see that 90% of students vaping because of their non-hobby and uninteresting life, causing that only vaping, masturbating and playing video games is only thing that gives them any kind of endorphin, honestly its very sad. Their lifes become an self-pleasurement cycle, that they can escape only with new hobbies, sports, big goal or something else that dont give a short and easy pleasure. Become sober friends. (sorry for grammar, im not fluent)
Nicotine in some form has been used as long as humans have history. It is, and its pure form, a potent stimulant and neurotoxin. Most smokers get about 1 mg per cigarette. That same smoker can take an oral form. Raise the dosage a little bit and stop . smoking. Then slowly lower the dosage of the nicotine. Until you have reached your goal or have stopped. It’s really an important tool
I mean you can thank us millennials for starting the trend, i remember in 2012 when i was in high school they were E-cigs which were literally still vapes, you just only had the reusable ones they didnt have the disposables. But yeah they aren't that new lol
really well made video keep it up i will say that i dont see why grown adults care so much about what other grown adults do when it doesnt affect anyone else. 90% of the arguments people give in favor of banning vaping can also be applied to alcohol but no one is having that conversation. alcohol also comes in fruity sweet flavors, is allowed to be advertised on tv and in terms of health and safety is much worse than vaping
There's nothing I agree more with than this. I've done my fair share of drugs. Weed, nicotine, adderall, Vyvanse, Ritalin, and the worst of all I've tried has to be alcohol. I had a several month long addiction where I would drink a bit every morning and ALOT every evening. Im only 18 and people are either losing their lives or watching their entire lives pass them by due to alcohol addiction. Everyone wants to shit on every other drug but alcohol, but really alcohol is one of the most dangerous and addictive drugs, and in my experience the most addictive drug I've taken.
It sorta does affect other people though, because when the entire room smells like chemical cherries it gets old pretty quick (especially when said chemical cherry vapor is being blown in your face). The reason vaping is so problematic is because while alcoholism rates are on the decline right now, the same cannot be said for nicotine use. We were on the right track when BOTH nicotine and alcohol addiction were declining but now thanks to these vapes nicotine addiction is on the rise again and it’s undoing all the efforts we made to eliminate it.
@Lilac_ps nobody does that, that's strawmanning the argument You know there are millions of people that are against every kind of drug even alcohol (such as me) for crying out loud I don't even like coffee or tea. Also just because it doesn't have the same effect doesn't mean it's good, litteraly what the youtuber said in the video weed is bad cocaine is bad stop all of em to be a better human being. Also using the argument "it helps me concentrate and focus" is sad cope
@@UrKaptn sure but no one dies from vaping. lol. u cant say vapes are more problematic than alc somehow just cuz more ppl do it. alc literally kills ppl every day
The problem with your argument is that before the big tobacco industries got involved with vaping we knew what was in the vapes. Vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol. The reason why states want big tobacco involved is because they profit off of it.
Nailed it with the juul and Phix on the cover, I feel like no one talks about Phix’s anymore, those were better than all the other systems. Plyrocks were cool too started on that multi colored thing for my first vape 😂.

when i saw the vape store stuff where they check ids, the online stuff is even worse its very easy to order vapes and even carts with no id if you know where to look
Not to say vaping is safe by any means bc in no way is it. But I do want to touch on the fact that vapes hold more nicotine than a box of cigarettes bc it's INTENDED to last longer. Ofc many people run through their vapes faster as we've become dependent. Secondly, nicotine is a harmful chemical, but not in the sense you might think. It's almost impossible to "od" on it, at worst physical symptoms will give you a headache. The harmful part is the mental effects, nicotine relaxes the mind, and tends to give you a "relieving" feeling. You learn to become dependent on this feeling when you're stressed out, especially when we're the generation with general anxiety disorder written all over it. This is the true addictive part, physical effects are more or less not there after a month of use/no use. This is also assuming that you have a legitimate vape and not gas station bs, the chemicals used aside from the nicotine are found in our everyday food/drinks. Again not healthy at all, but a lot of the negative press is from big tobacco trying to get customers to quit vapes in hopes of making them seem almost "worse". Overall, don't look to any outside force to deal with stressful situations, talk to someone.
this, i agree so much with this comment. people see "more nic" and think "OMG MORE NIC MEAN MORE ADDICTIVE!!!11!1" like no dude, its more nic because its a device thats meant to last days or week
Im addicted to cigarettes and im only 14. I once was trying to stop insted of smoking i was trying vaping but every one on the street was looking at me like i was some kind of alien. They thought i was doing it for fun or because it is cool but it was me who was trying to quit smoking
I quit cold turkey from cigarette 3 days ago ..I crave it so much ,if I keep feeling shit like dis I might start vaping .Been smoking since 15 I'm 21 now
No. Controlling something means more covermenent, that means more taxes. If you wanna kill yourself, do it. Smoking is victimless, you do it to yourself, same as vaping. In us its easy, if you smoke or vape, insurance go up or some treatments are unawailable. Like lung cancer treatment etc.
I use nicotine for the sigma grindset. It can be a powerful tool for cognition. I never go over a single 4mg lozenge in a day. Can easily take week long breaks with no withdrawals. I usually just break a lozenge into pieces and use when I feel like I need it, if I don't need it I won't use it. Not all of you are capable of this though. Most of you are weak and would find yourself a slave to the chemical. I can do this because I am strong of mind. I would suggest this path for true sigmas only. *drops mic*
So how about the worldwide pollution caused by all sort of transportation? It doesnt matter what you do these days. There is no clean air or food or water so what 😅
The percentage of particles from that getting into your lungs is MUCH smaller than when you are directly putting something in your mouth and inhaling it (especially if you live in a place with low emission rates). Come on now…
@@freezabeatzz9189 you should still quit. among other things weed can cause psychosis, paranoia, worsen conditions like depression or anxiety, and can cause lung issues [if smoked or vaped]
NO BROO!! You HAVE TO KEEP SMOKING BRO!!! You should have a license to vape bro, just go get some cigs instead vro Seriously, do you guys not understand that people are taking nicotine. Do you really d-ride cigs that hard? Your own study even said that nictoine users were much less dependent with vapes than cigs, so there goes like most your video. Also, not like there were no other reasons for nicotine to go up from 2012 to 2019 (not like there was near peak political unrest since the 60s). You honestly paint the picture that these problems only started existing when vapes came around. This video was basically "my experiencing my experience what i feel like".
Now...when did I EVER say that people should switch from vapes to cigarettes? My whole point is that people shouldn't use any nicotine PERIOD. Whether it's smoking, or vapes, or chewing tobacco or whatever. And yes that study says that vapes didn't create as much dependence as smoking (assuming those dependence statistics were even accurate, because "trust me bro I'm not addicted, I can quit anytime" is a tale as old as time) but a 33% increase in general nicotine use is still bad because of the detrimental effects it has on your health and the potential for dependency in the future. Also nicotine going up from political unrest? Come on dude we both know that's bs lol. I mean maybe there's a couple individuals doing it for that reason but most people are gonna go get therapy not nicotine in that case.
@@UrKaptn What? Of course people use substances more when there are higher stress. I'm generally wondering what jobs you have worked and how far in college you are. Rich people go to therapy, that is something far out of price range for most people. I mean, i had 2 vapes, one in 2021 fall semester and one earlier in 2023. This whole video has been beaten to death. Go look on youtube and see all these anti-vape videos. They all seem to come along with a "im not like all the other kids in this generation" vibe. I mean this whole video was a nothing burger, and a super popular opinion that gets ez likes and views. I know you didn't say to smoke cigs, but as you can see from the papers you showed, if we aren't vaping, we're smoking. And you even said that vaping is better than smoking. So what is the end lesson and point? People go drug free? They tried this since prohibition and without fail, it never works. I'm sorry i seemed mean in the first comment, but this false info will make people think vaping is just as bad if not worse than cigs. Go look on tiktok right now and see what the idea of health effects vaping has. They make it sound like crystal meth and it's just fake news.

It’s really an important tool
how is it a neurotoxin when it doesnt cause brain damage?

i will say that i dont see why grown adults care so much about what other grown adults do when it doesnt affect anyone else.
Everyone wants to shit on every other drug but alcohol, but really alcohol is one of the most dangerous and addictive drugs, and in my experience the most addictive drug I've taken.
its bad for you, people are just looking out for each others health
It sorta does affect other people though, because when the entire room smells like chemical cherries it gets old pretty quick (especially when said chemical cherry vapor is being blown in your face).
The reason vaping is so problematic is because while alcoholism rates are on the decline right now, the same cannot be said for nicotine use. We were on the right track when BOTH nicotine and alcohol addiction were declining but now thanks to these vapes nicotine addiction is on the rise again and it’s undoing all the efforts we made to eliminate it.
@Lilac_ps nobody does that, that's strawmanning the argument
You know there are millions of people that are against every kind of drug even alcohol (such as me) for crying out loud I don't even like coffee or tea.

Not really that stupid when you look back out how much previous generations smoked

NO BROO!! You HAVE TO KEEP SMOKING BRO!!! You should have a license to vape bro, just go get some cigs instead vro
Seriously, do you guys not understand that people are taking nicotine.

Nicotine is a neurotropic drug
It’s really an important tool.
