Coming from someone who is pretty active in my local theater, you could tell Hamilton had been filmed mid-week. Most everyone's voice was pretty worn down. Stage work was fantastic, though.
Small luthier tip. Occasionally with a stripped screw, if I think I can do it and not mess anything up around it, I’ll take my dremel tool with a metal cut off wheel and cut a groove that a flathead screwdriver will fit and use that to get the screw out and then replace the screw.
A good tip I learned a while ago and that works surprisingly well is to put a piece of flat rubber band between the screwdriver and the head! Just need to use a screwdriver a size smaller but the rubber fills and grips well on the stripped head notches. Pain free and super cheap! But yeah, when it's hopeless, dremel works every time!
I used to use the rough end of a sponge for the neck, but I recently wetsanded one of my guitar necks to see if that was any better, I'd highly recommend wetsanding the neck
The part where you said "This screw came pre-stripped" gave me PTSD. My friend bought a Harley Benton PRS style electric guitar and it came with stripped screw head on the tremolo claw.
2 easy drill free fixes: One, you could loosely stuff the hole with the cotton from a Q-tip and the screw will now bite again. Or two you can take a toothpick smaller than the diameter of the hole, snap a piece off inside the hole, and then reinsert the screw. Adding a little wood glue to either option makes it a more permanent fix.
Some say he won't play southern rock because while his grasp of Mandarin is solid, Cantonese is a bit shaky in his vernacular. And his girlfriend will burn black lace if he breaks out in Ramstein. All we know is, he's called Der Fish!
@@agufish hey man, ive searched sarassastium on spotify and RUclips and i didn't find it, and even on your patreon, could you tell me where to find the music?
One thing I learnt is that if you strip a screw you can use a flathead screwdriver similar in size to the Phillips head and there is less turning friction and movement as there is only two points of contact and not 4. Hope this helps
I really wanted the Epiphone 1984 but when I finally had enough to go get one, they were long gone from everywhere. I even let Sweetwater know to notify me when they would come back in stock to no avail before they were discontinued. It sucks because I never even got the chance to see one in person like I really wanted to but it gives me hope that the new prophecy series will be released soon. I'm not that big into Fishman but I'd kill for an explorer with active pickups and the ones that Anderton's teased,damn....
13:50 I would have drilled out the holes, even from the battery cover, although difficult, definitely possible. I drilled out an LTD Michael Amott-600 V for that exact reason.. Either no space or too tight of a fit, so I drilled, no harm done anywhere.
I just picked up a cream-colored Hard Luck Kings "Lady Luck" Explorer for $199, $258 total with shipping. I plan to throw the EMGs from my Hellraiser C-1 in it and do some Sharpie art too.
Love these videos. I'm probably gonna get the ESP KH202 because its a Hammett signature for relatively inexpensive, but this looks great for a future Hetfield inspired project.
I absolutely agree with what you said about Ali express stuff. Had to get a bass replacement neck for my Squier Precision a while back and found this really good looking bound 24 fret neck with block inlays for only 60-ish bucks including shipping! When I got it though, it turned out that the neck was as long as the fretboard, instead of the fretboard just having an overhang, which of course threw the scale length and intonation of completely. This means that my broke ass needs to rout out and reshape the neck pocket to make the intonation work until I've saved up enough money to buy a proper bass. Fun times...
I just got my EX84 after over two months of shipping and it had a dented headstock and you get two for free and write all over them in Sharpie? 2020, just keeps getting better and better.
My Ali Express ESP Copy was actually REALLY well made, not much problems with it besides the jack. I got strap locks installed, and will switch out the jack sometime soon, but I did put some 81/85s in it, and damn does it sound great. Middle finger inlays, hockey stick headstock, rosewood fingerboard, 81/85s, Eet Frik decal. Def was worth it. Besides the jack (which is really cheap tbh..), it’s definitely a kick-ass guitar.
The epiphone 84 is amazing for the money especially since it comes with grovers and emgs the only thing stopping me from getting the Harley Benton is the headstock I get why they can’t do the hockey stick but that’s one of my favorite things on explorers
The HB stuff is constantly getting better and better, and the EU price point is redondulous. Can't you persuade them to release a RD type but specd like the 77/79 25.5" and a ebony board not like that reissue insult "play authentic" my hoop. Such a badass guitar no one has done right yet. Your sig is awesome gutted I missed out any more on the horizon?
Amazing that you take the time out of the day to respond to comments, shows that you’re a person and not just a face on the internet. Awesome video and very inspiring!
The black is cool, but if I was doing this I would of stripped the guitar protect the art then laqured straight away evenly across the body, I'd also remove the HB logo and put some art there too, then build with the new pick ups and put parts back on, so much easier in the long run
Last year for my birthday I snatched apparently the last Epiphone Explorer 1984 white, amazing guitar. So you say it's discontinued now, that's why I don't find it anymore on Thomann.
Yeah they dropped a ton of models when they moved to the “Inspired by Gibson” lineup. I have a feeling it’ll make a return with the proper ‘84 wiring and ebony fingerboard later this year or early next. But that’s only a guess based on nothing lol. But yeah your version of the 1984 is sweet, too!
Just one question - why did you(or your friend) use that big sponge to apply the Mod Podge glue? Wouldn't it have given better results to use a small detail brush, like those used to paint tabletop gaming figures? Just a suggestion...
I really really really hope they gonna do some cool tops. Like a stripey weird ass color or gradients like on the amaroks. (maybe mutli colour like the older chapman ghost frets) Imagine some black to neon green with a great flame...
The price for the EMG version is the cost of about 1 EMG pickup, but you get 2.. Damn that's a good deal, and you'd also have more sought after pickups when/if you swap out a pair of EMGs compared to the roswells.
White one to me sounded better to me.... Great job though!! I have a Charvel Star shape fiddle I modded myself/Frankied…. So loved the Vid! Keep it up dude I watch all the time! Great Riffs Also!!!
For your next intergrety mod project, you should do a Dean Cadillac. Could you make it sound more awesome? Maybe. Could you make it less ugly? Absolutely not, and that’s just the way we like it.
Which one do you prefer?? 😀 And also, serious question: who else was absolutely blown away by Hamilton?? Hype well-deserved.
Well,I ordered white one :)

Fuck it, use a center punch and drill it out. Full send it
Your idea works well if it didn’t break flush with the wood tho. A more careful way of doing it is to use a file with an edge.

Hope, that Harley Benton builds a white Flying V with active pickups. That would be cool.
The Het Set is one of my favorite pick up sets.
Mini Q+A alongside the pickup install was a great idea!

I legit bought a EX-84 with the EMG's cause of this vid. I love it so much. Thanks for the reccomendations!
I think the cute seal doing the nom nom to the sunfish should be the new logo for this channel. I just think it's too perfect to be just a decal
that song was going on for 2000 years while he took that screw out. That's pretty prog bro
Sharpie makes silver markers for future reference 👍🏻
The Q&A overlay during the install was a nice touch man.

It’s called Sarissastium (I think lol?) Search me up on Spotify it’ll be there. I love Reese’s voice and she’s an incredible songwriter

I love both! I love to see how people hot rod their ax and you hit it out of the park on these! And hey! I love the mix!!!
Funfact. Fishman pickups fit in the EMG solderless set up and if you just get the coil split wired in the rest of it is solderless.
