    Why should the helix be above the active arm, where can I read more about the reason?

    • @AtoZKidsdental
      @AtoZKidsdental  3 года назад

      Yes Dr helix can be done above or below active arm it’s the force that will push the incisor buccally
      Read from Bhalaji Text Book of Orthodontics

  • @ashwinihonnatti3180
    @ashwinihonnatti3180 3 года назад +1

    How do i activate the active arm? Doing it for a patient with single tooth rotation. Enough space available for rotation of the tooth to set in position.

    • @AtoZKidsdental
      @AtoZKidsdental  3 года назад

      You should open up the coils incrementally as this will force the active arm to push the tooth to desired position
      Yes Doctor the space available must be sufficient to obtain the desired results

    • @AtoZKidsdental

      Hi Dr..don't get confused as per guidelines for every spring we need to use 23 gauze wire which is usually 0.5-0.7mm in thickness

    Which arm is toward the tissue and which arm is away from the tissue ?

    • @AtoZKidsdental
      @AtoZKidsdental  2 года назад

      The active arm should be towards the tissues while retentive arm should be away from tissue

    Can we apply it in mandibulaire arch ?

    • @AtoZKidsdental
      @AtoZKidsdental  4 года назад

      Yes Dr...but in mandibular arch retroclination is rare...and if it occurs...then acrylic rim needs modification to incorporate z spring

    Why 23 guage wire is used why can't we use another guage?

    • @AtoZKidsdental
      @AtoZKidsdental  3 года назад

      23 gauze wire is thin gauze and has been mentioned in literature that it is required to produce the adequate spring action in all types of springs
      The Action of springs is always the displacement of tooth and such action is a combination of one or more elements in an appliance
      1. Arch Expansions- Coffin spring-19 gauze
      2. Adams clasp Labial Bow -21 gauze
      3. Retractors - 22 gauze
      4. Springs -23 gauze
      Hope you got my point Doctor
