Great Video Dan! Mounted my tail tidy, Akrapovic exhoust and Honda bellypan and seatcowl yesterday! :D the quickshifter is not in stock yet. Cant wait for that! :D
I am not a big fan of the R&G design. The part that holds the license plate is on a fixed angle and just looks odd for some reason, but that's all personal. I do think that they did a good job on how they created proper usage of the OEM blinkers and the electrical products provided in the kit as well as the manual. I think taking the good from the R&G offering and combining the good from the DPM Racing offering would create the best product available. Evotech is the tiniest out there, but to my opinion too small for wet countries.
Thank you . I don’t have a tail tidy or cb650r but am Interested in the Honda tail light design vs the street triple that doesn’t look like it withstand quite the same level of British winter .
Ah Ha! I wondered how long it would take! Good for you. Sadly, only other drivers will get to appreciate your good taste in changing the light/registration set up most of the time. I've only done 400 miles on my CB due to hols. etc. However, it's a hoot and quite different engine-wise since I started to run it in. I would never think of returning to a MT07 after my recent experience on the CB. Chalk and cheese (although the MT is still a great bike).

Visually this tai tidy for the CB 650 doesn’t really look like much of a difference to me( in my opinion). Does this kit seem to protect your bike from getting rain inside the seat cowl?

If it was or wasn’t you, what are your thoughts on this (now)? I’d prefer a tail tidy on my CB650R but not sure about the spray..
It might have been me. My original concern would be that you need the long tail unit to stop spray. So far I've had mixed reports that the R&G does/doesn't work so I'll report back when we get some rain.
@@Englishbikerdan i think thats the trade off if you have a bike where the tail is shorter than the rear tyre. maybe a tail tidy similar to that of the mt09 stock, where the tyre is covered could solve that
EnglishBikerDan it might sound like I’m trying to troll, but I really am not. I do really prefer the stock one. Honestly I don’t mind stock tails. What brand are your tires?
They are the stock Metzeler Roadtecs that came with the bike.
I’ve been looking at so many reviews of this that I can’t remember who said it, but think it was you... didn’t you say that the witches finger was a necessary evil because it helps stop the stuff flung up from the rear tyre from landing on your back? If it was or wasn’t you, what are your thoughts on this (now)? I’d prefer a tail tidy on my CB650R but not sure about the spray..
It might have been me. My original concern would be that you need the long tail unit to stop spray. So far I've had mixed reports that the R&G does/doesn't work so I'll report back when we get some rain.
I like it but I'm still a little sore at you for not winning the exhaust....Wink Wink!
damn that's a giant plate...that thing will produce so much drag your mpg will drop.
It actually acts like a wing. I flew from UK to Germany but the in flight snacks were terrible!
@@Englishbikerdan those cheap airlines are making up for covid losses.
fabryczny błotnik to porażka ale taki zastępczy króciak to pełno piachu na siedzeniu ....trzeba coś pośredniego :)
How tall are you and how much do you weigh?
176cm and 92Kg.
@@Englishbikerdan think you got those round the wrong way 😅
@@cookiebob_ You are very naughty!
Great video! Could you tell me how you removed the DB killer from your exhaust please? Keep up the good work 👍
I'll do a quick vid on it as it's tricky to explain.
Thanks.. Cant wait 😁
the stock thing is pretty long but is not hidious, only if eu regulations weren't so dumb
Well, my back, arse, backpack, pillion seat are all completely soaked in rain and muck. So now I understand why the stock tail is so long!
@@Englishbikerdan lolololol
@@Englishbikerdan i think thats the trade off if you have a bike where the tail is shorter than the rear tyre. maybe a tail tidy similar to that of the mt09 stock, where the tyre is covered could solve that
Stock looks better imo.
First person to say that. Interesting!
EnglishBikerDan it might sound like I’m trying to troll, but I really am not. I do really prefer the stock one. Honestly I don’t mind stock tails. The only ones that bother me are Yamaha’s big bulky blinkers which look horrible. But this Honda honestly is just perfect. To me it is. I own a KTM duke 200. Just started riding. I’m hooked, the next bike I’m looking at is either this bike or a KTM duke 790. Also I really don’t like how the R&G looks, I think it’s a little extra, the font looks like H&S shampoo logo.
You and me both, I have put the stock tail back on as I was getting soaked! Duke 790 is bonkers and very, very tempted to get one maybe next year!
@@Englishbikerdan Yeah forgot to mention that :)) Even with it on sometimes the mud does get onto my bike's rear seat. If I try hard enough :) Yeah KTM just looks really inviting, but I have no courage to ride it yet. One day, One day for sure. Good luck man ! I like your content, I check the reviews from time to time.
@@FoiMal123 Thanks man, happy riding!
It's a tail tidy Dan but not as we know it. R&G may have designed the part to fit but, they forgot to style it and as a result it looks a bit, dare I say it, naff! This is a rare instance where I actually prefer the look of the original item, sorry...
That's not very tidy. It's got inches to lose.
I think it's worse than the original.
