Hey Scotty ! I used your advice amd used that bars head gasket repair stuff , and it fucked my car up even worse than it was before! Now I have my motor all torn apart and got ripped off on eBay for the gasket kit guy never sent it! Not your fault but the bars guarantee you told me about made my car even worse !!! How am I supposed to trust you now!!
Man, learning way more watching these videos than when i was working at a mechanics shop, thanks scotty, helped me with alot of problems on my car, that wouldve taken me otherwise years to learn how to do on my own since mechanics by trade are taught very slowly.
You are silly and entertaining. Yet, most of all, you know your stuff. You probably have no idea how much you help the world in general. Thank you for being your brother's keeper!

You are the man. Very helpful information laid out very simple. I work in a truck shop and am almost licensed and I still check out these videos when I have questions. Thank you
Man you know your stuff, along with having the correct tools for mechanic work. Your videos continue to help me perform mechanic work. Keep it up friend and thanks.
no, tie rod was not moved on the adjusting nut. And on this car, the strut bolts only go on one way, they are not in slotted holes that are adjustable. Some cars are, but not this one.
Well he's been a mechanic for 46 years lol. When working on cars that long you can do anything because it takes about 5-10 to become a great mechanic and fully understand everything in and out when working on a car. The more experience you get working in a shop, the more you're going to understand better. From you're mistakes and from all the training you have working on cars.
ya, i agree. he answers most of my questions in less than 24-48 hours. that is very fast for a guy who works, make videos and answer thousands questions a day.
It was tried, but seal was too hard and worn out. It did slow it down for a long time, but twenty years is about max for any oil seal before they dry out.
probably time to see a guy like me to analyze it. Over a dozen different things can trip that code, and a dealer level scanner analysis would be the best first thing to do

as I already said, brake lines hold 2000 psi upwards, a little hanging isn't going to harm anything that strong. If it did start to leak, it would need replacing anyway.
P2106 - Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Limited Power Engine power and RPM's will be limited and cruise control will be disabled . Generally you have to replace the throttle body on the engine with a new unit, ford had problems with them big time.
You're great, Scott! I always enjoy your videos -- highly informative, easy to understand, and entertaining because of your unique personality. God bless you! :)
just old age, the pads are one time went down to metal, and the rotors weren't changed. BUT, it stops straight, doesn't make noise, and doesn't shimmy at high stopping speeds. So, the owner doesn't care, and neither do I. Perfection is often not needed in machines, realize that.
I have a transmission leak I fixed it by adding no-leak transmission Is that bad ? I enjoy watching your videos They make so mich sense nd show atep by step
Hey Scotty love the channel I had a massive leak today and it drained all my fluid out on suspecting the pan seal is leaking cause that's where it was coming from I'm hoping it's a job I can do myself thanks for the videos
I made a tool for installing seals on everything....measured seal grabbed a metal pipe and installed a chain link cap” took me 4mins to make” and cost me $4 in material” I have use this tool often when installing seals on customer cars” It even does main seals for torc converts” because it goes over the input shaft.
Scotty, you’re a god-send always. Thanks. Anyways if you see this, I just got my crv and my drive shaft that goes to the rear diff. Is what’s leaking, I was just wondering if you knew anything about the crv I can’t find a video on that particular repair.
im taking my 06 crown vic BACK to the shop this morning for the 3rd time..had the trans rebuild 2 weeks ago and have been back twice already for the tail extension housing seal..still leaking eeven after driving only 10 miles or so. Didnt leak when i brought it to them for the rebuild..just had some neutraling out when taking a corner and a slow 2-3 sec engage from park to drive. They did a full rebuild ($2300) They are either putting it in wrong? i dont see how 2 new seals just leak...its also a transmission shop and you would think they could figure out the correct way...again this is a crown vic...a super simple (classroom) car if u will.
@scotty you made it look really easier than it actually is. plus you live in the rust free south where things are less likely to be seized up. great tips though. real time in the north youd be over an hour doing this lol
Thanks for this. QUESTION: How far should the new seal go in? Got a 94 sentra automatic and there's no inner lip on the shaft hole in the trans housing. Should they be seated just flush to the outside in this case? Changed it a couple times and keeps leaking; dawned on me that maybe I'm pushing it in too far.
thanks buddy, I really needed this advice, unfortunately I don't have all those tools and I'm scarred of my mechanic cause he makes me poor lol, love my car to bits tho, Toyota soarer ^.^
Dude, if you're keeping the car, you're gonna need to do this periodically. Buy the tools and they'll probably cost 1 trip to the garage, then the next and all future seal leaks and axle failures will just cost parts.
Hiya Scotty, keep up the good work. Love your videos. A quick question if you don't mind. I have a Ford Mondeo 1.8 lx 2003. There seems to be a problem with the gears. If i start the car in neutral, gears won't engage. Gears do engage when engine is off. If I start the car already in gear, it works fine. The gears also seem to be stiff. Much appreciated. Thanks Sal, Birmingham UK
I'm sure it's way too late for you, but since I had the same problem I would like to answer your question in case someone else could use the information. In my case it was the throw-out bearing and my clutch was bad. It could also be the brass synchronizers inside the transmission, but that is less likely. Hope you got it all figured out.
Hey Scotty Great Video! once again! i have had a trand leak for as long as i remember and i want to see what can i do to fix it my pan is all oiled up from all around do you think its the pan seal? gasket.

What side of town do you live in
how many days would it take in an auto repair shop to fix an axle leak?
Scotty Kilmer how long does it take to fix a leaking axle in a repair shop?
Hey Scotty ! I used your advice amd used that bars head gasket repair stuff , and it fucked my car up even worse than it was before! Now I have my motor all torn apart and got ripped off on eBay for the gasket kit guy never sent it! Not your fault but the bars guarantee you told me about made my car even worse !!! only use an oem seal as cheaper replacements often don't fit perfectly
I literally never knew anything about fixing cars before, your channel has helped so much. It's such a blessing to have this kind of knowledge.
Thanks Scotty hope you live to be a 100.
Mike Blake i was thinking the same thing he is so humble ☺️
Scotty had a great helper🐈👍
Thats a torture.
Man, learning way more watching these videos than when i was working at a mechanics shop, thanks scotty, helped me with alot of problems on my car, that wouldve taken me otherwise years to learn how to do on my own since mechanics by trade are taught very slowly.
Good work and demonstration, you make the seal removal look so simple.

I have a 92 toyota corolla (looks exactly like what you are fixing) and I have the exact same issue. You make it look so easy, Scotty!
you only took 3 mins to make it look easy when in other youtube vids people take 8 or 10 mins shows youre Great at this

Everything I ever need done Scotty’s got the answer. I think he’s going to be a member of everyone’s family across the world someday.
You are the man. Very helpful information laid out very simple. I work in a truck shop and am almost licensed and I still check out these videos when I have questions. Thank you
it's good that your showing how easy these things can be, i've been doing work on all my family members cars since 12 years old.
depends on the design, some you can do without taking them all apart. and some are made so you have to take it apart to get to an inner seal
Man you know your stuff, along with having the correct tools for mechanic work. Your videos continue to help me perform mechanic work. Keep it up friend and thanks.

she rolls over a lot, and as any cat, sleeps a lot. She also loves to unroll toilet paper as fast as her paws can move.
Thus was so ridiculously fast, to the point and helpful. thankyou!!
scotty, any reason trans leaks only when hot vs just a bad seal? meaning, if it only leaks when hot, it's more than just a seal? thanks! love it vids
Through the magic of video editing I should be able to do this in 3 min. Thanks Scotty :)
Thank you mister kilmer for making all your knowledge available for everyone.
I'd say you do a pretty damn good job at responding to people. Honestly, I don't know how the hell you keep up with it. Kudos.
I sure will fix it myself thanks for another impressive tutorial Scotty.
You make it look so easy!

yes, AT 205 reseal, hard to find, amazon sells it though
ya, i agree. he answers most of my questions in less than 24-48 hours. that is very fast for a guy who works, make videos and answer thousands questions a day.
Use the old seal to tap in the new seal... Prevents damage to the new seal :)
replace the pcv valve and pray that helps. if not, your engine is flat wearing out and oil is blowing from the crank to the air filter
yes, especially on an older car, more than 7 years old
yep, saves on commuting time. I'm here right now answering your question too.
no dip stick, you remove a side bolt on the transmission, and fluid leaks out that hole. if it doesn't leak out, you add fluid until it does.
many things can make noises, but worn bushings often do that, spray WD 40 on em all and see if they quiet down first.
It was tried, but seal was too hard and worn out. It did slow it down for a long time, but twenty years is about max for any oil seal before they dry out.
probably time to see a guy like me to analyze it. Over a dozen different things can trip that code, and a dealer level scanner analysis would be the best first thing to do
dude you make this shit look soooo easy and simple lol awesome. im still at the point where im learning new tricks here and there
try some AT 205 reseal, i get it from amazon.
You're the best mechanic on youtube. Hands Down.

already have " getting your car ready for winter weather"
as I already said, brake lines hold 2000 psi upwards, a little hanging isn't going to harm anything that strong. If it did start to leak, it would need replacing anyway.
Looks so easy. Last time I had to pull the shaft I had to have it pressed out of the wheel. Took 10 tons of pressure !
P2106 - Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Limited Power Engine power and RPM's will be limited and cruise control will be disabled . Generally you have to replace the throttle body on the engine with a new unit, ford had problems with them big time.
Cannot believe Scotty does so much tough work on his driveway, wow one tough dude.
try my video "how to fix a car that idles poorly"
You're great, Scott! I always enjoy your videos -- highly informative, easy to understand, and entertaining because of your unique personality. God bless you! :)
Wow you make it look so easy! Now my turn to “fix it myself” you made my day☺️👍🏽
you can often use a long cheater bar and a socket
if changing the seal did not stop the leak right there, then the axle shaft is worn and needs replacing. That could make it shake too
If they popped out yes, but if they just leaked and are still in place, No.
Thanks Scotty looks much more simple than what I imagined
just old age, the pads are one time went down to metal, and the rotors weren't changed. BUT, it stops straight, doesn't make noise, and doesn't shimmy at high stopping speeds. So, the owner doesn't care, and neither do I. Perfection is often not needed in machines, realize that.
He is The Chuck Norris of Automobiles He makes it look soooo easy !
thank u so much scotty i thought my transmission was going bad this video really helped my seal was bad
Scotty is the man! Thanks RUclips algorithm.
I have a transmission leak
I fixed it by adding no-leak transmission
Is that bad ?
I enjoy watching your videos
They make so mich sense nd show atep by step
as long as it stops leaking, it's fine
yes, yours would leak being rear wheel drive and a ford. drain it first.
no, hitting will often not get it off, Believe me. Plus, if you hit it that hard, you can actually bend stuff.
Hey Scotty love the channel I had a massive leak today and it drained all my fluid out on suspecting the pan seal is leaking cause that's where it was coming from I'm hoping it's a job I can do myself thanks for the videos
this guy is awesome, no wasted time at all!
not just under the car, above it too when things are flying with motion
Straight forward clear instruction. Thanks Scotty
I made a tool for installing seals on everything....measured seal grabbed a metal pipe and installed a chain link cap” took me 4mins to make” and cost me $4 in material” I have use this tool often when installing seals on customer cars”

it did for a while, it has been used. but seal was just too hard and old
Man you come a long way! Houston Texas ☮️
this guy is crazy, I love it. he is also a great "explainer?"
Scotty is everything I aspire to be in life.
that ending though kick out that truck door damn scotty you're a boss
MONTEZ77 , he's gonna have to make a video on how to fix broken tailgates one day
we used the at 205 reseal in it for a couple of years, but seal was finally too far gone
I watch a lot of your videos and they help a lot. Thanks !
Haha, Hey Scotty. It says, "God bless you for the Guide/Help"!
-And from myself, thanks for all the videos you put up!

scotty your 1 awsome guy, i learn a lot about car at your channel, thx man
@scotty you made it look really easier than it actually is. plus you live in the rust free south where things are less likely to be seized up. great tips though. real time in the north youd be over an hour doing this lol
I started up North, Now I'm Down South and like it.
of course check the fluid, pray it's just low. but if not, yes, it's going out
Yep, this is what I do (use a 25'' breaker bar and 36mm socket). I was actually talking about myself, tools are just fine :-)
Thanks Scotty, you are the best. I hope i can work it out myself.
Dude your energy is awesome, thanks for the vid!
you make it look so quick and easy Scotty! lol thanks for the video! :)
depends on the shop, book pays 1.8 hours labor
Just under 3 minutes and you are good to go! it's that easy.
Great video and I love your energy man! Thanks for sharing!
You rock bro!!! Thanx for taking the time to make these videos!!! 🤘🤘🤘

haha very cool -- the cat hanging out to supervise.
always learning something from watching your videos , thank you!!!
Good one. Just what I needed. Already got my pickle fork ready to go.
Thanks Scotty!!! You’re my number one go to when I have a problem with my car.

its sad that you have to take that many parts off just to fix a small seal.
great video like always scotty!
That is a nice truck at the end!
You are a pro thanks so much I appreciate your efforts in making these gems. -PawPaw
Hiya Scotty, keep up the good work. Love your videos.
A quick question if you don't mind. I have a Ford Mondeo 1.8 lx 2003. There seems to be a problem with the gears. If i start the car in neutral, gears won't engage. Gears do engage when engine is off. If I start the car already in gear, it works fine.

if it's a metal radiator, solder it. If plastic, just replace it as all the plastic is old and cracking now anyway
