In the middle of 2021, the 8000 series will be the only standard size bus to be diesel fueled with only 118 still active.
Exactly! Numbers 8000 to 8119 to be exact. According to Wikipedia, 8046 and 8047 got destroyed in a fire. Those buses will be sticking around with SEPTA for a bit longer since they got the quality driver shields installed on them. The 2004 d40lf buses got the cheaper kind of operator shields installed on them since SEPTA knew those buses wouldn't be sticking around any longer. Plus the drivers need protection because of covid-19.

There's 117 now, 8110 caught fire aswell and is being retired.
@@DLF-hu4uu 2005-2006 D40LF busses are down to 116 as 8019 was retired due to an accident. I know 8110 caught fire due to break issues. 8110 was off duty thank goodness
Besides the Flexible/Grumman , Nabi, Gillig and Nova buses, New Flyer are some of favorite buses!
Around August 2022, the 2005-2006 D40LF will start retirement.

From what I heard , 8000’s have about a year or 2 left
Hopefully they can get more electric buses in the future. Like trolley buses and battery buses that don't break down before a year of service
