Worst Shelter Setups and Camp Failures So Far!

- Hello ladies and gentlemen!
Here are some of the times out camping when things didn't go quite according to plan. And even some times where I just didn't end up camping!
I have had some personal stuff going on at home so I did not make it out to make a video this week.
Showing us your imperfections makes your videos interesting. Also makes us feel good when we try and it doesn’t turn out as planned. Love how you always keep a positive attitude. Better luck next time, thanks for all you do for us, have a awesome week❤️

I show these to my friends because they are so funny and so real. Anyway thanks to you…I now own a canoe, Montreal seasoning sales have gone up, I eat more rib eye, I crave fish fries, I have a new blow up bed pad, I have a new water filtration system, I have more fishing equipment, I’m buying a new tent……I am amazed how you manage in the snow in the cold temps. I think the one thing I definitely could not handle is the mosquitoes, and biting flys… yikes. I would lose it. You are still my #1 channel and I watch a lot of RUclips for instruction videos, travel, etc. keep up the amazing work.!!
I absolutely died laughing at about 3:03. Too funny. And when you melted the pad, rolling on the floor laughing. But, by the end of the video I was just praying you'd leave that smoky air and so glad you did.
So enjoyable to watch them all.

As always I love the video when Montys sleeping pad pops by the fire. He just sits there. A very chill dog. The sound of it cracks me up every time. You rock Matthew. Keep doing what you do, mistakes and all.

@35.50 the call was made! I remember the “Smoke Out” video. You always look out for that little creature Monty which shows in all your videos. Though this was classified as a failure (by you) we viewers along for the ride each week, enjoyed the attempt and honesty. Oh well, just add it to add to the learning curve. Cheers boys!

Bro! I haven’t watched any of your videos in a while and woke up this morning thinking about spring fishing but it’s 30 degrees so I put on your 8 day from June 2019! And on day 5 this video comes up! I sure miss them canoe camping trips..hopefully you will do one soon! They are the best! I was just watching you pull in that 20” smally from the deep hole at the waterfall with the underwater GoPro! Fish in a barrel! I know you miss that! Monty was passed out the whole time! lol he’s the best.
Matthew, those were some powerful messages that you shared with people who camp out. Even though the shelters you made were bad, you made sure that people know that safety is the key factor in it all. In other words don't risk your life to prove a point. It's not worth it!

Thank you for putting this video together, I love the ones where things don't go according to plan. I'll always remember, the one with the smoked-out lean-to came out on a really awful day for me, and I watched it a few times over all in one night just for the company. Even though your night in the woods didn't pan out that night, that video is still one of my favourites.

It's ok to fail. We all do. You learn from your mistakes and most importantly it's how you handle the mistakes with grace and humor. Plus you don't give up you complete the task just figure out another way. Love your channel you should be on TV.

Interesting shelter. I usually imagine the double skin one with a couple of tarps, a reflective backing and clear front, and a self-feeding fire. Cosy

❤Starlord❤ I live in vegas and 40 years ago it snowed 3 feet, the neighborhood kids built a big igloo in the park that you could almost stand up in, it started out with about 30 snowmen and the next day they took all the snowmen down and carved out blocks out of the body parts.. It stayed up for a week. You should try it with your buddy's

0.5 = Paddling upstream in the dark, after a Late Start, hoping there's food to eat at the car
1.0 = No Shelter, no fire, Billions of black flies, no insect repellent
1.5 = Sleeping next to a pile of snow, with a fire, and lots of smoke
2.0 = Half a Quinzee, with a fire, and a popped sleeping pad
3.0 = Any Shelter after falling into an ice cold river, with a fire, and no spare pants
4.0 = A wet Shelter, with a fire, and Ruger eats the tent stakes when you're not looking
5.0 = A dry Shelter, with a fire, only dog kibble to eat, no coffee
6.0 = A dry Shelter, with a fire, only Monty's Mangled Mush to eat
7.0 = A dry, warm Shelter, with a fire, dried spaghetti to eat
8.0 = A dry, warm Shelter, with a fire, chicken riggs to eat
9.0 = A dry, warm Shelter, with a fire, Steak or Fish to eat
10.0 - A dry, warm Shelter, with a fire, Steak & Fish with wild mushrooms to eat

Holy Gumnuts...that smoke can be bad....it's magnetic in Australia....it doesn't matter what you do it comes towards you...even moving several times to different spots around the fire....it finds you.....it's like a human seeking missile 😆.
We agree with you about the failures ..it's never a bad thing...you learn from it...makes one wonder how many times inventors of technology failed and the final product came from a collection of failures to make something that actually works....there is certainly nothing wrong with failure or defeat....it can also lead to innovation and improvisation for instance....you could have moved the fire LOL...
