That’s just Alex in general but I love Gabbys addition to the group, mainly because now Jake isn’t just getting bullied constantly and has at least one person on his side

fun and nerdy fact (that i found just some minutes ago):
Douglas Englebart, the inventor of the Computer Mouse, referred to the plural of the device as Mice, and confirmed that it got its name from the rodent.
Although the acronym stands for "Manually-Operated User-Selection Equipment" some people say that it may be a "backronym" that
they used words that would match the device and the name given by its inventor.

Okay, yes, but with English words whenever the plural refers to multiple species it remains as an "es" suffix. As an example: while the plural for the clown-fish is still fish, to refer to all of the species of fishes in the ocean, it is fishes. (To all the people that scoff about "Still getting the meaning across," the idea behind it is to convey that you're not referring to all of the fish of one type in the ocean, you actually mean fishes. It's a rare moment when that is useful, but the point still stands.)
In a similar mien since there are so many different companies that make their own mice, one could argue that referring to computer mouses would refer too all of the brands rather than, say, all of LG's mice, a box of a singular model of mice, or a factory line producing mice.
Then again, these really are just semantics, and I once lived where everyone there referred to feminine hygiene products as a whole as Maxi® pads. If language allows for such things, I don't think it matters.
Makes sense, because when you say 'mouses' like Jake does, it just doesn't sound right.

But yeah Gabby's right, language is a fluid thing. Either one is correct, but it's almost certain the mouse / mice paradigm will win out eventually.
actually equipment is already plural, so it's either mice or mouse, but never mouses
@@BLiNNeMaNS Refer to my above comment. Sure these distinctions may pop up in early in use, but the only thing that determines a language's usage is how its speakers use it, nothing else.
@@the_linguist_ll oh, i do agree on that part; language evolves, but i was merely commenting on the "either one is correct" part where they used "mouses" and "mice". Where mouses can never be correct. (emphasis on "be" as it can "become" correct over time)
