- No...not the smaller ones. Recently was clued in to the idea of using an extended mouse pad, or a gamer pad, as a playmat. And I really liked the idea!

I like this idea. Lots of cool designs available for these and usually at a lower price too. Price up lately might be in the cost of shipping from China, which has increased significantly in the past year. I have ordered some from Ali Express.
I needed to replace my keyboard mat and I couldnt get the same as my old one cause they'd ONLY do it randomly, and it's just a simple black mat with blue trim. I hard ordered 2 mistakenly cause the first image was the one I had, got 2 red, then saw they refused to accept color requests. you'd think if I ordered 2 they'd send me 2 different colors.
Anyway, found a cool cosmic one and saw they had a larger size, so I got like, 3 of them, 2 small 1 big. they work great as a playmat! it's basically the same materials anyway... >_>
This is awesome I play league of legends and yugioh irl and I am thinking about getting a kda mousemat and use as a playmat is this viable in regards to size.
It works great! The only issue I've found is if you take it to an LGS and you have an extra long one, you may need to roll up an edge so it isn't in a neighbor's space. But other than that, I love it!

What's the standard size of a mtg playmat?
I checked Ultra Pro's website as they supply all the MTG art playmats and they list them as 24 inches by 13.5 inches. (60.96cm by 34.39CM). Hope that helps!
Some ppl in our mtg community use mousepads and personally I find it pretty annoying because they are almost always overlapping in some kind with someones space, unless you got a really big table and fewer players. I mean, they don't use the overlapping space, that would be rude, but having their pad under/over your mat is just not really compfortable
I definitely can understand that. I think these are a great idea when you have the space.
