    Wow!!! You go now Mr. CharlieBo!!!
    Beaumont, TX, never knew you'd make it to my home town. We're on the map. Sad to see it in this light. From the Pear Orchard to the North End. Now Ya'll go easy on Beaumont, Tx. it still ain't as nearly as bad as Houston. Actually, there are really nice parts of Beaumont, and one thing that I've always appreciated is that the black professionals build their own neighborhoods in Beaumont, which is more than I can say for most of those in Los Angeles, where I reside now. MUCH LOVE BEAUMONT, TEXAS!!!!!

I use to ask him all the time to come to Beaumont, but he'd always have a reason for me not to come. I honestly feel he was embarrassed, I went for his memorial. North Major, on the West Side of Town.... Delaware St. west of the mall, basically far West side of town is nice. There's a new strip mall out that way with a good Vietnamese Cafe, arcade, event center, and there's a ginormous soccer complex near the water tower with a beautiful walking/biking trail that goes through cow pastures, most beautiful sunsets there, all clean and well maintained/ patrolled by the city. Not a bad place to live, considering Houston is only an hour away, for bigger city experiences.

    I was born in Beaumont, lived there until I was 7 in the Pear Orchard. My Mom and Dad are from there also. Well my entire family…. They all went to Hebert HS. I would visit my cousins and grandparents and stay every summer from Houston.
    I will say the home my Dad built on Flamingo lane still looks good. He built it on 1968.
    My Grandparents lived on Harriet St. and Waco st in the Pear Orchard.
    My parents even went to Lamar. I’m shook at how it went from middle class to run down. Kinda makes me sad. I have beautiful memories of Beaumont. I’m in DC now. This was fun to watch.
    I was. Also baptized at West Tabernacle Church. I still have a few older relatives living in Beaumont. ❤️❤️❤️

    My parents met in the north end back in the 60s at a night club on concord . it was called The Gold Guitar . I used to go to a dumpy ran down dive bar called Laverne's . it was across from the "famous" record store The Record Rack . Live Oak was the street I think . I remember eating Simpson's Bbq and Dean's Bbq . my dad , aunts , and uncles grew up on Miller and Grand . I went to the fair every year until about 1999 . never went to the new one .

    • @OnThis_Journey45
      @OnThis_Journey45 4 года назад +3

      Most people do own lawn mowers even in what you see is "the hood". The grass grows extremely fast due to all of the rain. You will literally have to cut the lawn weekly to keep it looking decent and often times that's not possible when it rains days on end.

    Don't know if this constitutes a "Hood". Very little trash about. No police cruisers in the area (thank the stars).
    Other than the auto junkyard, the need for some house painting and landscaping; it reminds me of the neighborhood where I grew up.

    My goodness, the only thing that looks decent in some of those neighborhoods are the TREES...... Look like a throw away hidden town forgotten that there're people living there.
    I feel so sad right now to see how my home town look like a dangerous ghetto.
    Look like I saw Washington Manor Apartments , a place I lived at once. Look like it could be crime infested area now....... Southside of Beaumont wasn't a nice area ANYWAYS.
    WoW, just so sad.
    Thanks for the showing.
