I was born and raised in Beaumont Texas and if you don't work for the refinery, hospital, school district, the city of Beaumont , or if you are a doctor or lawyer you are NOT making any money. The cost of living is not that bad unless you live in the West end of Beaumont which is the nicest part of Beaumont. You get what you pay for if you want to live good out here😒

Moving from South Carolina to be exact Gaffney South Carolina with my wife and five of my kids try to move to a better area where we come from there's a lot of drugs lot of crime shootings and crooked cops is Beaumont any better ? is the job situations down there decent any advice would be good advice.
@@booberfeldt5566 Beaumont Texas would be a better place there are about 46 crimes per every 1000 people here. In Gaffney, there are 63 crimes for every 1,000 people according to www.neighborhoodscout.com.
Also, Beaumont has about 100,000 people and growing, compared to Gaffney with12,000 people.
but if you want to be closer to Houston Channelview Texas, or Pasadena Texas also has a low cost of living but not low as Beaumont. I hope that helps.

Yeah l lived in Beaumont for 2 years. From 2007-2009 due to school l attended Lamar. I'm from Lake Charles, Louisiana. I worked at the hospital while attending college. The hospital l worked at was Christus St. Elizabeth hospital on Calder Ave. I lived on the west end by Parkdale Mall. Beaumont is alrite. 😊👍

I lived in Beaumont since birth, I moved to Atlanta for 7 years, then moved back to Beaumont. I can clearly see now how the ppl are still divided. Ppl make the place, and if ur black or Mexican in Beaumont ull get to experience the worst sides of Beaumont togetherbut still separate. There is still a big slave mentality here, no growth. I won't be here long.
You are beyond ignorant. The people that say they are in the worse side of Beaumont either North or South side are the ones who depend on government and don't want to better their lives and just blame others. Don't blame others for your choices and where you live in the city. Im betting you live in the north end.
That's pretty much how east tx is, from north east tx, deep east tx and Southeast tx

awww this comment is dishearting !!! The reason im leaving austin texas is because the racism here is so outrageous. i grew up on the east coast of the US and racism there is nothing compared to what ive experienced in Texas so far. smh

My grandparents had a house on Overbrook lane on the North End across from a high school. My daddy was killed in the Magnolia Gardens in 1989...he buried in Magnolia cemetery....Ill be moving to Beaumont Texas march 2023

I'm from the area but lived in Houston majority of my younger years but now I'm back. (We all come back) :) Less traffic and houses are bigger and cheap here. We are looking to buy in Sour Lake area lots of land :)

If you’re still in your old home don’t do it Paul I lived here and never left just to even visit until age 8 and it was extremely dangerous

My wife is from Jasper..but she has some of her family in Beaumont.We were just down there last week!! I love visiting pastor Adolf Church as well...Btw I'm a realtor in dfw..building up capital..I would love to invest in Beaumont for rentals/multifamily

How is orange texas. My wife says orange is where she wants to move. We havent really set in stone where we want to move other than texas being the state.

Nice video! What kind of air and water quality does Beaumont have? Is there a high level of poverty or homelessness? what is the crime rate?
The Air is fine. I personally would live more than 3-5 miles away from the power plants. for air safety

As far as crime definitely do your own research but in my experience, I haven't had any problems.
It's interesting that 64% of people are killed by friends or acquaintances while only 20% Are killed by strangers.

Houston's violent crime is 50.4. (The US average is 22.7)
I find generally that large cities have more crime and more poverty brings more crime. Hope that helps.🙂
Me & my wife are considering moving from Lafayette Louisiana to Beaumont TX any suggestions on good areas for apartments to start out relocating? We of course want to buy a house but realistically want to get an apartment to learn the areas before buying

I lived in Southeast Texas for 40 years until my taxes and insurance got too expensive. Just remember this corner of the world is very prone to hurricanes and tropical depressions.

Curious question what do you know about Jefferson County Texas and Orange County Texas ? my wife and me and our five youngest chaps is thinking about moving down there from Gaffney South Carolina. Is the people down there like really cliquish and don't like Outsiders coming in kinda hard to make friends if you're from out of state? Or is most folks friendly and welcoming ? welcoming we're just trying to find a better place to raise our kids where the drugs and crime and shootings and crooked cops aren't as bad cuz it's bad up here in South Carolina😔
I moved here 10 Years Ago and the people here are pretty friendly. the west side of Beaumont is the better side but either way the crime rate isn't as bad as Gaffney. Also, I don't know what your budget is but chambers county would have the least crime, somewhere like mont Belvieu Texas. But chambers County is mostly country so that's why the crime rates are so low the more people the more crime usually.
@@SoutheastTexas-WilliamTJRealty Getting a VA loan the most I can go up is 250k but anything less than that would be great. Yeah definitely looking for more country area but my sons play football and hopefully trying to find a high school that's got a good football team
@@booberfeldt5566 One of the best food ball teams in southeast Texas is in Katy Texas. other than that I don't know much about the high school football teams. Maybe I can ask around for you.
250k can get you an excellent home in most of the southeast texas but Katy is a very big city with expensive homes.

Just some visual advice for you bro. Look at the camera lens while recording instead of staring at your monitor or whatever you are reading off of. You want us to feel like you are talking to us. Unless you want to live a simple, mediocre boring life ..Beaumont ain't it. And I just left in 2019. I miss it and it will always be home, but I feel that's because it's all I know. Even our downtown sucks lol.
