The thrust stand figures for those Xing 400kv motors is what made me look at lithium ion packs. A pair of 6s2p packs, for 6s4p lithium ion, gave me 15-18 minute flight times using the Xing 4214 400kv motors with those 13x10 Gemfans. Not a full bore hog wild build but a 55mph cruiser that shouldnt draw more current than what the 6s4p pack can provide(60amp cont with 110-130amp burst).
3d stuff is always so mind bending and cool to watch. Nice job guys!

I had the same issues running 3d on my 10" tricopter. If I came into it really slow it would work well, but if I hit it, it would wobble and not make enough thrust.
Problem with a Tricoper is managing the counter Yaw swap once the copter flips over.

Really cool evolution of the hobby, great job Zoe!! I predict that propnuts could come loose with motors quickly changing direction due to the inertia of the heavy props. I would suggest using castle nuts with safety wiring instead of ny-lock prop nuts to ensure props stay tight.

I'm pretty sure Le Drib explained I term instead of P. P is based on direct input (it's Proportional to the input).
No, he explained P correctly, P is the transient response to error.
I is the response to error over time, hence integral.
P term is also not proportional to the input. It is proportional to the error which is the different between the setpoint(input) and response(output).

Sorry guys, I normally love everything you do but honestly a totally untested concept and you decide to try it for the first time under the freakin' freeway?
OMG... and was beginning to think that I was only one who thought that! Drew: "Don't worry we've done all of our risk assessements and migated the risks" Really? - You've got no height and no space to play with, uneven terrain all round you, a truck load of people stood around waiting to get minced, an active freeway above you and the 'untested concept' ! Yep - it's all good. LOL
MoMadenU they are under it did you ever see them go onto the highway? Whats the big deal they could be at a field or park with a bunch of people around they are definitely the only ones out there and if it crashes the worst thats gonna happen is they are gonna have to get it out of the bushes....

X Class is awesome!!!! The size and weight present a durability issue for me. The length of the arms is a major problem. With arms that length & the weight of the quad copter you’re almost 100% going to brake an arm or worse. I also believe the sheer mass and size of the motors themselves is so much that it would be kind a hard to do the exact type of flights we would like to see 3D in X class. However I do believe that the X class 3D quad could be optimized and made to fly 50 % better. At least. You could increased durability maybe with a different design of the arms. I still believe there would be great stressors to the length of the arms would be pretty hard to stop them from breaking in a serious crash. So yes I believe 3-D Xclass would work well when optimized with slow swooping acrobatic flight it would be pretty awesome in real life. Awesome video !!!!!!
