ABOUT THIS GAME
=================
Step into the Rift
Buy the Oculus Rift and Oculus Touch bundle to receive 7 free titles - Robo Recall, Dead and Buried,
Rift is a headset for PC-based immersive virtual reality experiences. Whether you’re stepping into your favourite game, watching a VR movie, jumping to an exotic destination, or just spending time with friends in VR, you’ll feel like you’re really there.
Rift uses state of the art displays and optics designed specifically for VR. Its high refresh rate and low-persistence display work together with its custom optics system to provide incredible visual fidelity and an immersive, wide field of view.
Age: Rift is not intended for children under 13 years old.
Custom Display and Optics, plus Integrated VR Audio
Rift uses custom display and optics technology designed specifically for VR, featuring two AMOLED displays with low-persistence. The technology enables incredible visual clarity as you explore virtual worlds.
Rift features an integrated VR audio system designed to convince you that you’re truly there. The integrated headphones are removable in case you want to use your own. There is also a high-quality internal microphone for social experiences.
Tracking System, Ergonomics and Design
The headset is tracked by our IR emitter constellation tracking system for precise, low latency 360-degree orientation and position tracking. The tracking system is designed to track you whether you’re sitting down or standing up.
The advanced ergonomic design improves the headset’s overall balance and stability. The strap architecture offloads the overall weight, allowing the headset to rest comfortably.
Familiar inputs. New experiences. Unlock human expression.
The Touch controllers feature traditional action buttons, thumb-sticks and analog triggers that add familiarity to new experiences. These are your controls for grasping, lifting, and more.
Touch lets you make social gestures like point, wave, and give a thumbs-up. Combined with multiplayer experiences, it unlocks a social element that’s never been experienced in VR.
Intuitive Interaction. Reach out and touch.
Oculus Touch's pair of tracked controllers give you hand presence-the feeling that your virtual hands are actually your own. It takes interaction to the next level.
Touch lets you manipulate all kinds of objects in the virtual space with precision. Pick up toys, drop blocks, throw firecrackers, and fire laser guns-all with intuitive, natural hand movement.
You can access the Oculus Store on the Oculus app on your desktop and from Oculus Home in VR.
Discover and download games across genres ranging from action RPGs, sci-fi shooters, mind-bending puzzle games, and more - and play them from an entirely new perspective.
Seven Free games - Lucky's Tale, Toy Box, Dragon Front, Medium, Quill, Robo Recall, Dead and Buried - included with every Rift and Touch purchase.
Applications have a comfort rating designed to give people a clear understanding of the type of experience they’ll be stepping into:
Comfortable - Experiences with a comfortable rating involve little or no movement, often stationary.
Moderate - A moderate experience will be non-stationary and likely includes gentle camera movements.
Intense - Anything with complex movement, such as running and jumping in first-person shooters.
Product Care and Maintenance
Only use dry optical microfibre cloths to clean the headset lenses and sensor.
Do not clean lenses or sensor with liquid or chemical cleansers.
Do not clean the facial interface foam with alcohol or other abrasive cleaning solutions.
To clean the straps and facial interface, only use non-abrasive anti-bacterial wipes and wipe gently.
Avoid using or storing your Oculus Rift, remote, and sensor in areas of direct sunlight.

Just ordered a Oculus Rift and was looking on how to set it up ahead of time. This video was great at explaining everything. Thank you.
Watching new people experiencing VR for the 1st time never gets old. Thanks for sharing fellow VR buddy! ;)
Thanks for watching :-)
Ok, the headset, is it battery or mains? If mains does the plug have a changeable head or is it attached like most appliances? Could you tell me please.
It's powered via usb 3
Fantastic! Thats exactly what I wanted to hear, thanks.
I was gonna get this VR, but I found out an oculus quest was gonna come out soo.
Just to add a comment, the touch controllers not being USB rechargeable is a blessing trust me. I easily get a month or two out of a set of batteries vs the vives 7-8 hours, and when they did finnaly die I was playing in 5 minutes because it took me 4 minutes to find my spare pack of batteries lol.
+Justin Harris nice comment thanks
To be honest, the oculus controllers use much less energy than the vive's (I will not go into detail but oculus' just sends buttons while tracking is done by the camera, and the vive's have a more active role with laser timing and more), so it's not really thanks to normal batteries that you get that 2 month usage. They could have put rechargable batteries and still give you 3-4 weeks of use and be more enviromentally friendly. Aside from that, the longer battery life is much appreciated, and the controllers are overall simply better.
Or you can simply buy rechargeable ones?! :)
TheMadnes5 haha very true, my comment was more about the fact that when the rift controller dies you can be up and running again in 5 minutes vs how ever long the vive controllers take to charge. Using rechargeable batteries for this is still a good is though lol
You can be in VR for more than 7-8 hours without break? WOW
Watching your facial expression while shaking your hands with those toys was priceless
😁
It crazy how different this is from the quest 2 and I love seeing the evolution of vr and how its changing over time.
First taste of VR was when I went to leadership camp for ROTC. I was put in a simulation humvee gunner spot with a vr helmet. Scariest but most amazing moment of my gaming life. I am getting the rift tomorrow, can't wait!
Awesome! Video your experiences, my advice lol
Hopping into this demo after installing was my first vr experience outside of a demo at Best Buy and it floored me. I was laughing uncontrollably in joy! Just a magical experience.
+Marvelous Marv that's awesome!
My Rift arrived two days ago. Can wait to set it up. Lousy timing to be ill. Thank you my lovely wife, and a late Black Friday deal. I hope my Gear VR doesn't get too jealous!
Awesome news Brian!
The kid at 7:30 looked so sad after the adult took it LOL
😏😏😏😏😏
7:29 without context, that seems so rude
Thats really rude, i am 12 and it fits perfectly -_-
@@xjulek4714 thanks I am 11
He just left his kid😂
you are supposed to be on RUclips kids

I d have loved some comments after experiencing the little robot demo. When I first tried my oculus my mind was already blown at the setup honestly . The robot demo is AMAZING. The problem with making videos on VR is that people can't even imagine how amazing it is when you ate trying it.
+Beedyboy so, so true.
awwwww wish I had recorded my first VR experience now. I was blown away! enjoy
+Stapley Online thanks!
I've really enjoyed mine, too. And I had all the same reactions as everybody :) VR is cool, and will only get better.
Vr is just plain bonkers. I do not think I could go back to normal games now. That Spiderman homecoming demo felt so real, especially on top of the crane.
Rollercoaster game I could not do standing up, too bloody realistic.
Nearly killed me!
That gun reminded me of a NES Zapper
Edit: Most of us suck at aiming and killed
butterflies and drop a gun some times,
Really great video man!
Thanks for the support!
Look Oculus, I don’t have 40 million USB ports
LMAO USB ports and VR are like a violent anti peace protest...you will not have a lot of fun. External USB 3.0 (recommended only!) and then get the oculus tool (Free & So Important).
Then USB, VR and you will all live in harmony....for now!
Or just buy a vive, the Lighthouse stations can be connected to any power outlet and communicate over bluetooth
I do
After seeing this, i'm planning to buy a usb 3.0 PCIe expansion card.
@@Anonymous-rb1xh Ahhh yes. Gotta love the "spend wayy more to buy a heavier, clunkier option with worse controllers" advice.
Getting mine on Thursday I cannot wait😁
Jaylen1200 I’m getting mine tmr 😏
Same, I hope we all enjoy.
Omg how are you guys so lucky, but im excited too,im getting one for christmas !
i will never get them :(
Mine arrives tomorrow but I couldn't wait!
I am playing Epic Roller Coaster and I chickened out to many times. Your chair will feel like you're moving. You will have fear. This is to real OMG I am blown away.
It's horrifying!
@@SimUKReviews Last night the "People" non games that talk to you and appear as they are talking to you all were on Fast Forward. I could not stop it form FF. It would be nice if the humans were interactive.
I dont follow? FForward how?
@@SimUKReviews The way you fast forward through a movie. I deleted the download and that appears to fix the problem for now, Uploading my video in a few minutes. I can supply link if you like or just go to my profile.
sure link is fine
My man, you have a THICC chin! I'm so jealous! Plus, I really appreciate your enthusiasm and non-rambling! You just get straight to the point and show all the parts I want to see plus important safety warnings, I really appreciate that. I have tried both the Vive and Oculus Rift. Both are extremely well made, but none of them are "better" in my opinion. However, there are videos explaining ups and downs about both headsets. But yeah, I'm saving for a Rift alright. Dude, I'm talking too much! Thank you anyway!
Finally a battery operated controller again!. Im so sick of running out of juice and having to wait 3-8 hours for a recharge just to have the battery wear out after a certain amount of charges.
I’m hard to crack but at 8:10 I laughed my head of
Head of what?
Head of lettuce?

I just got a rift for Christmas i can tell you are fully immersed in the vr world, vr looks awesome.
Your experience got me excited over here. Imma buy it too 😅
Same here! first i wanted the Vive, but this one is so much cheaper and the controllers seem to much better. And the Rift comes with speakers wich is a huge plus imo.
i got an oculus yesterday, in 2019 november 3rd
Hope you had a great experience.
Hey sim, after 2 years of continuously watching your video, I finally got the courage (and money) to buy myself a Rift cv1. In my country getting my hands on one of these Virtual reality headsets is almost impossible without having to spend 700+ dollars. I was very lucky to get myself a deal for a VR Headset!
Great to hear! Enjoy the experience!
Iv just got a oculus rift headset and this is the ONLY video that has helped my dumb ass out Thank you for that! 🤘
LOL You're welcome. HAVE FUN!
Ive got enough money for it in 4 month and 5 weeks from now (: im so excited to get one
Well looks like that plan fell through. Looks like it's a wmr rift S or quest
If you have 449€, THEN DON'T BUY AN RIFT (imo). There's better options or newer like Quest or Rift s
Welcome to the "High-End" club.
Well thank you! :-)
Give "RoboRecall" a try. its a free bee that came with the Oculus Touch. or you can check out my channel and see a some VR Games that are out and or will be coming out. .
If you have Steam installed you will be able to play quite a few of the games on that platform as well . Here is the link if so inclined. ruclips.net/channel/UCBYeBCyfIfclD_vSLFVERMg
Cheers.
I managed to snag a mint condition rift from an ebay auction for under 300 bucks, it's coming by the end of the week and i'm *so* excited.
Yes have just set my Oculus Rift for sims racing, but was blown away by the intro graphics, seeing my hands without the controllers, I don't I will ever be able to go back to the screen
Awesome!
Thanks for the help mate! Im getting mine in two days and I can't wait :D. This video helps very, very much. Thanks!
Awesome!
Wife has got me one for Christmas :)
+Minty Moore awesome! Your going to love it!
i agree if u get atleast a third senbsor and a few extenders you could experience full room scale if you have the play space
extenders?
+lol lol I'm working on a solution...not quite there yet.
A third sensor improves the experience quite a bit.. I have both the Oculus and HTC Vive... Still prefer the Vives roomscale tho.
Just ordered my oculus on amazon! Watching your video left me with the biggest smile on my face out of anticipation and excitement. Cheers mate!
Pleasure :')
Aww, the robot is so cute, I think I’ll call him Wall-E
lol
Sim UK Never expected such a fast reply
I am renowned for it ;-)
Sim UK Wow
But not every single time ;-)
Haha, man I just really loved your reactions. Good stuff.
+MountainManGuy thanks :-)
Waiting for mine to arrive, I can’t wait!!
Same lol been waiting a week got another to go... fucking Ebay why do I gotta be cheap lmfao
Actually with a set of rechargable batteries the energizer rechargable batteries and charger give a good two weeks solid worth of battery life the controllers are very effeicent
Lol! When the lady said to reach for the white dot to teleport to a new virtual world, it went on a mattress firm commercial! Yep a new virtual world
Lol
I just built a computer just to experience VR, and I choose the Oculus Rift as my VR platform. My computer build is as following:
CPU: AMD 7 1700 OC to 4.0ghz
MB: Asus X370-F MB
GPU: MSI 1080ti gaming x trio
Mem : 32gb ddr4 3200 - Running at 3198
Storage: Samsung 960 Pro 512 m.2 NVme Primary Drive
500gb 860 SSD Gaming drive
PSU: EVGA G3 750w Gold 80+
Using a test bed as a case, still waiting for it..
I maybe went over a bit on the computer specs based on requirements, but I did not want to miss a thing..
Waiting for the Oculus Rift to arrive tomorrow. I purchased an extra sensor and a USB extension cable just in case.
Will be looking for help getting it up and running right.. I really want to use Google Earth VR with this, that would be pretty cool.
Download the oculus rift tool...Important addon.
Could you be more specific?
Sure it is a free addon that allows the oculus to work properly and better.
T9 complex to explain further here but it's easy to use...just leave everything at default and the oculus will just work better.
Link?
On mobile right now...simple google should find it immediately.
I know where to plug the hdmi you need to plug into where you have your hdmi cable from your pc plugged into your monitor and replace it for the headset hdmi and buy a display port cable at plug it into the display port into your monitor
The Oculus First Contact demo absolutely blew my mind, I replayed just that a good 5 times. It's impossible to convey what VR is like to someone. They just have to try it. I tend to start people with that demo just to give them a feel for interacting in a virtual world without overwhelming them with frantic gameplay. Next, I move them on to Space Pirate Trainer or Bullet Train.
Nice :-)
I just setup my Rift, and I'm blown away. Its the most fun I've had since I was 15 playing with a computer. I purchased the Space Simulator and boy did that knock my socks off.
Fantastic.
I have rewatched this video since im saving up fot the ouclus rift
Excellent!
150$ short tho
Half way there.
still gonna take ages tho D:
good video i cant wait to get my rift or vive so i can experience vr
Great video. Tried this at a friends house and was immediately addicted. Getting mine soon and this will help
Excellent, thanks.
I just ordered this kit. I cannot wait to see such VR world with my own eyes. Something like Unreal Tournament or Minecraft would be awesome if i get that to work.
Minecraft is actually pretty cool in VR and I'm not a fan tbh.
Do you need a gaming pc in order to use oculus?
There are some vr ready laptops...but ultimately yes.
Not with the quest
Or go
A little late to the party, but just started saving up to buy a vr headset. The rift seems like the best choice as it is the same price as Windows mixed reality in Norway, and the vive is just too expensive!
I might suggest you hold off in favour of the 2nd generation with better quality resolution and wider peripheral vision....that being said I still fully enjoy my Oc. :-)
The thing is that oculus has no information on any hardware updates. It might take a long time before the next not-standalone oculus comes around. In 2018 the focus will probably be the Oculus GO. So another rift would probably not come in at least 2 years. There will be other options, but Vive is more for proffesionals and the windows mixed reality is the cheap one, for people who doesn't wan't to spend that much money or time into VR. I will atleast wait until I have enough money and then i'll see what the situation is like. Also the rift controllers came out in the end of 2017, so the full rift package is relatively new. Also it has been selling for about 800 usd in norway up until 2018. Now it has dropped down to 560 and i can probably get it on sale for under 500. As said I will look further into it when I have saved up some money, and see if I should wait or not then. Thanks for your reply! :)
I read this again after i got the notfication from you pressing the heart thing, and there is so many typos! Ignore those 😅
Lol my phone demands I add typos so no worries lol
@@ei..
Boy were you wrong
watching and commenting from my rift
i love how you give thumbs ups after 14:00 video :D :D
I am so gonna buy this!!! O...O
Now that I know my computer can have all the USB ports! :'D ♥
cant wait for my oculus !!
+Acir Man nice
Same here, buying tomorrow or sunday.
Cannot wait to get mine going tomorrow. Had to buy a new laptop to hit and exceed all the specs. Super excited!! Great video too
+Craig Blanton thanks, have fun!
Planning to get a rift for Christmas. But I’m thinking I may do it now. Bro, his wife and kids are flying in from ca for thanksgiving for a whole week. Would be a lot of fun for everyone to experience this for the first time, lots of laughs I’m sure! And they will not be here for Christmas.
That's a great idea, and I would highly recommend you record each person FIRST TRY...I have recorded my whole family and some of the responses and reaction are priceless -)
Top 10 videos that end too soon
What happened at the end??
I played this at a mall and as I was waiting to get setup I watched my friend and he walked right into the wall and another friend walked out of the room by mistake
And then they all clapped.
For batteries in the controller you could use rechargable ones
Yes works well
the rocket out the roof was very impressive
Thank you, totally planned of course ;-)
Hype for mine
I, WANT IT!!!!!
look on ebay , theres plenty of oculus rifts for under 200$+ i got my oculus DK1 from ebay for 120$ inc shipping from italy
I'll definitely be shooting those butterflies, mine arrives tomorrow, I can't wait! Great vid mate!
ENJOY!
He sure does like having his thumbs up XD
How many USB ports do you need for all of this? Thinking about getting one just concerned if I have enough ports.
Good question... 2x USB 3.0 & 1 USB 2 (officially) though any combination of those seems to work.
Be warned, some PCI-E cards are literally NOT supported, there are hacks available but better to buy the officially recommended stuff.
Just missed the deal for it being sold at curries for £350... back to £400... but I just thought fck it and bought it anyway.
+YhAnWotM8? LOL...I think it's still good at that price, maybe think about a third sensor although now you can have sensors further apart you might not need it.
Have fun!
Woah I'm just about to open the seal and un-box it, have your video on @ 15:33 and you have replied :D
Just adds to the excitement haha Thanks man!
+YhAnWotM8? Awesome! :-)
I'm VERY excited, just going through the lengthy install of the Oculus software.
Is there any games / software you recommend I try? I'm really looking forwards to using Medium, kingspray graffiti, maybe get star trek too^^
+YhAnWotM8? Yes many lol. The games coming free with the Oc are very good!
This video was really helpful I’m doing my research into getting a vr headset it was nice to find a useful video
I loved how you reviewed the oculus! you explained it well!
+Tristan Bannister thank you.
And awesome video
Thanks :-)
Can you flip people off with these
What would be the point of them otherwise?
All that "awe" "waaa" "WOW" made my buy this today after been watching tonnes of rift video. Damn you SIM uk. AUD520 burnt!
:-)
Amazon price now £574 !! Great video Mike - I am severely jealous.

+Damith Dilan thank you
HOT
Quick question does it come with a mic?
Yes.
Sim UK was that the mic you were using during gameplay?
Without checking.....No, I don't think it was. At that point I didn't even realise it had a mic lol.
The mic is actually Extremely good, so if the mic audio was in anyway bad, then absolutely not.
Sim UK ok. Thanks 👍🏻
Goober Games I have played in it and it’s good not the best buts it’s very good
2 days ago i ordered a used rift and on the 2nd or 3rd it will come i cant wait
Thats awesome buddy! You're going to love it.
man I wish I had one
Just fire up ETS2 & you will be in Heaven !!!!
+CiBi1968 lol. Have you tried it yourself? I tried ats and it was really badly pixelated, I could barely see anything. I am guessing I need to adjust some graphics settings etc.. but I haven't had a chance to play properly yet :-)
I Had to adjust the scaling in advanced settings to about 300% if i remember correctly . I also reduced the display output to 1280 x 720 . This reduces the image size , but made it look clearer. Driving throught the small towns in France was amazing , taking roundabouts was so much nicer & parking too.
I'm sorry i can't give you the full details , I had to send my Rift back months ago it made me really nautious . But I loved the experience . I'm just waiting until i have upgraded from my 1060 6Gb . When frames dropped below 90 it affects you quite a lot .
Nice one, thanks.
I CANT WAIT FOR THIS LOL
Finally got my rift, setting it up tonight. So excited ;)
Nice, have fun.
@@firestrikeold9695 It went very well. Although I found out that most VR games are not that good. VR skyrim is awesome if you avoid melee combat and the various tech demos are okay. I think that games will get a lot better in 2019, VR really needs a killer app.
I highly recommend PC2, DCSW, XP11, Thrill of the fight, Box VR (exercise), any of the gun/zombie shooters, and I find most of the sailing or board games are done really well too; but I agree that killer game isn't here yet and I guess until we have higher res and wireless devices we will have to make do, that being said, the experiences are amazing.
Titanic is good, slow passed.
What PC would you suggest for the Rift? I was going to get a Quest but it seems too complicated to download custom songs for Beat Saber on it.
Quest is getting/has got a cable to connect it to a PC. So the quest might be the best option right now, but I don't have one to test.
The GTX 1660 TI is regarded as the best bang for buck, but not future proof.
Other than GPU it is just about having as high spec as you can afford.
fuckin VAPORIZED that butterfly
Yes, I did! ;-)
Nice review, thanks.
Great video! Never tried VR before, getting delivered tomorrow!
Your gonna love it.
just got the oculus as we speak! im really excited and seeing you hooking it up gets me excited! XD
Have fun!
The instructions are quite cool (the safety precautions video)
Yes, not bad :-)
Just ordered mine today! Cant wait to do some iRacing with it.
+ch3apjoe enjoy!
nice review.. keep up the good work. because of this review ive ordered one and i hope ill receive it in in 5 days ....
You're going to love it! Record everyone first go, it's great memorabilia.
Sim UK i sure will specialy on horror games... can your recommend good horror games .. I know there are lot on the internet to search but its better to hear it from someone who might have tried it .. I want to record my girlfriend and friends playing those
That's just evil !! Lol
No to be honest I've stayed away, VR is just too real and I'm not sure I could take it haha.
For first timers def try the oculus experience deck, it's gentle but has a great scene with a T rex in a museum, pretty intense even though it doesn't sound like it would be.
Mine is coming next Wednesday cannot wait!
Awesome!
Just Got My Oculus!
THATS EPIC!!
Thanks for making this video, I've been on the fence on possibly buying myself a VR headset for my birthday next month, either the Oculus or PSVR, I think this may have sold me on it.
You're gonna love it!
Just ordered my oculus 🙌🏾 cant wait
Nice!
Thanks so much! Planning to sell my quest for this
I recommend the Quest over this!
The rift is older than the quest! Quest 2s are much more capable!
This should be ready for primetime when StarCitzens does, lol...j/k
😆
my vr set will be in today I'm so exited
Just ordered one :D
Getting it in the mail tomorrow :) so exited!
+MrAnderson 2199 nice!
Thank you so much dude!ima get it this christmas!
What we really need are multi-directional treadmills.
Great video. I was trying to decide if I should buy it cause it looked to complicated with al the wiring but your video convinced me to buy it. Thanks
Thanks, Riley, your gonna love it! I recommend you video your families first try, its memorable :-)
So exciting this is the future man!
Yes I agree!
Thanks for all the great work on this.
Your welcome + thanks for watching.
I just bought a rift s yesterday and saw it wasn’t compatible with my acer nitro 5 laptop cause of the dumb DisplayPort. But now that I know the original rift is compatible I’m DEFINITELY getting it once I refund my rift s
Its better too.
Sim UK from what I’ve heard from all my friends on vrchat, it’s definitely better
