And I basically answer any and all questions any eBay resellers may have who are looking to grow their eBay business!
Thom is more video talkative since you first showed him at the beginning. I enjoy your trips out together.
Thank you. Yes he was very chatty in this video and I put the microphone on him so he could be heard more easily. :)
We all love Thom and these videos of the two of you on your days out. He is good natured and polite and calm, he has a great way of communicating with people and it’s lovely to hear.
Thanks Joa x
I enjoy your road trips with Tom. He seems like a wonderful partner. I love that he always knows of another flea market to check out :)
He knows all the spots!!! It’s so nice having a partner who is another reseller and enjoys the same things.
I would totally watch you guys review every flea market and pie shop in driving distance
Ha ha. The problem is there isn’t enough markets around us! We love to travel and source and we hope to do more of that! I said to Thom the other day, we haven’t had a pie in ages! We definitely need a pie stop soon!
I love Thom! It is so nice to see him becoming more talkative on camera. He definitely has good knowledge to share. You guys make a great team and a lovely couple! 🥰
Thank you. It takes time to be comfortable with the camera and he was thrown into video life after meeting me. He’s been very supportive
I love this video. It was really fun to watch. Who doesn't love a flea market? We don't have them here in Spain (at least not that big).
Love this vid Mel! Thom was so talkative which was GREAT to see! You two are great together. So much fun to watch. Thanks for taking us along! Also, the Turkish food looked amazing! ✌
It was great to put a microphone on him so he could be heard :)

He sells hundreds a week!
I love seeing Tom blossom on camera. He's doing a great job as your partner in crime! Keep the videos coming! Love the focus!
Thank you! He’s a huge support of my channel and always encouraging me to film things. I’m so lucky he is happy to embrace my RUclips life world and be part of the videos with me. Having a partner who is also a reseller is actually amazing!
Always fun to see what other “flea” markets are like. Thanks for taking us along!
Glad you enjoyed!
Grew up selling with with my parents in trash and treasure sydney in early 90s. What good memories. Now im 40 and sell online but pick in other flea markets in uruguay
I remember going to the local trash and treasure with my granny. She loved it! Back then the markets were a thriving place. Awesome memories!
@@backfromburnout it shapes you doesnt it, you get the hustle culture from the get go and whatever life throws at you, you know how to get a coin
I just LOVE your trips with Thom. You're the cutest couple!!!!
Yay! Thank you!
Were you guys 🎤 up? sound was clear when meters away from phone?
Yes I have new microphones. I’ve been wearing it in the recent warehouse videos and it’s much better. This was the first time we have worn them as a double. Thanks for the feedback and glad it sounded clear!
How about a SALE for you Two at your warehouses and let the people come to you and sell also some food and drinks? Wouldn’t that be something? 😊
We have actually been thinking of doing one but we will wait to summer.
Garage sale s we call them if have. Some thing like this at a house. And can advise it on face book sale page to get people's to come 😊 or put sign s on street light pole s to let people s you got a garage sale on 😊
@@backfromburnout of course
I love your road trip food review vlogs with Thom Mel, keep them coming!
Will do!!
I remember drive ins Mel!
I have some fond memories of the drive in with my old friends from my days at working at McDonalds.
Same dandynong market that ran sints 80s was on the drive in their two big screen s. Sadly it just closed down .but out Mornington their s still a drive in. Only one left .
Your birds sound so different then any here in the States! And it's fun for you both (and us) to get out of the warehouses and go to flea markets to shop and eat all the yummy food! I love hitting the flea markets here with my hubby even if we buy nothing!
The magpies make a warble sound :)
😊👍👍
Flea markets are my favourite to go to. Garage sales are fun but all the driving is exhausting! Fun to see you and Thom shop together.
I wish we had more of them around us and closer
Oh yeah gozleme is so good! Thanks for the market tour Mel
Delicious I want some more!
Really diggin the guys Oldi shirt.
Ha ha so funny lol
They just closed our last movie drive thru where we had flea markets on weekends. 😢
Such a shame!
My fave line, Not yet but here she is ❤❤
Tom must be hot natured like me! Everyone else is in coats, hoodies and stocking hats and Tom is in short sleeves eating ice cream 😅
Ha ha. It was sunny but still cold. He doesn’t feel the cold as much as me, but he does feel it in the warehouses.
Wait! Is Thom younger than Mel??? My boy Thom has caught himself a cougar!!! Bravo Thom, well done sir.
Brava, Mel! Way to go, girl!
Ha ha 😝
Thom just turned 41.
I’m almost 48 🤪
@@backfromburnoutcan’t beat having a younger partner, my hubby is nine years younger than me 😉
My hubby is 43 I am turning 47. I thought yeah bag myself a younger man, he's falling to bits quicker than me. 😂😂
. Yaaay! I was like number 777 :) Great to see you and Tom enjoying the market
Thank you!
You guys are so adorable ❤
Hello from Germany 🙂...... you are sooo pretty together 😃
Oh thank you!
Mel, you should have Thom get his own merch! A hoodie or T-shirt saying 'Ah Yah' would be fantastic. His comments at 17:05 are great and so him! Seriously, I bet your following would love the merch. Or get merch with a saying of yours on the front and his on the back 🤓. Another great video, Mel.
Thank you. I’m looking into some merch now. Its designing it that’s hard lol
:Comments that there are sometimes more sellers." Here in USA, some casual and home yard sales will often time their sales for around 1st and 15th of the month. Common for folks to get their paychecks on those dates. Also 1st -3rd of each month is when folks on retirement or government help, usually get their payments. Don't know if something like that plays a part in Australia.
Yes things can be more popular when it’s pay week for those who get paid every other week. Also even though it was sunny it was still cold and winter here which deters sellers to set up stands as they have to set up so early before the sun is out and then it’s really cold!
Another great video Mel @13:31 Thom you missed out on two big boxes of LEGO for $5 each, lucky I got there earlier 😂
Brooke were you there!!! What a shame we missed you! You are the Lego queen and I’m glad you got them! 🤣
@@backfromburnout I get in super early as I have another market to go to afterwards. Blacktown is my favourite market in Sydney, very well organised and great to see it from another sellers perspective.
We will come back in summer, stay at the hotel next door and get there as it opens!
the ice cream was best I bet
Channeled Thom this morning at a garage sale & bought 2 boxes of CDs lol going through them & no regrets so far!
Woot get it!!!
To answer Thom's question! Yes movies are shown every weekend at the drive ins.
Wow that’s cool they still run in Sydney. We lost our drive thru in Canberra in about the late 90s from memory
Thank you
We have one just like this in St Eustache in Quebec, Canada. I will have to ask my sister about this one when I'm in Sydney next. But it will be in January, so maybe it will be closed 🤔
This is in Sydney and been here many years. Blacktown this is.
@backfromburnout never heard of it. Been to Flemington though.
I love going to the blacktown markets, but mainly for the food xD
Food was good! I’d like to try some of the Asian dishes also!
Thanks Mel Enjoyed That 😊
Hi Mel, i can not find your trip, buying book shelfs and going to 21 op-shops,
I watched it a few days ago....
Or was that an older one ?
21 thrift shops video is here:
ruclips.net/video/kp_6n22ipy8/видео.htmlsi=JozY8UZFuEbCaSgU
Would be interesting to hear numbers and see comps on the stuff Thom buys, especially the box for 50$ I wonder, what is in there.
Your videos with Thom are great, keep up the consistent upload!
He looks for a variety of items price wise. His business is about to start listing 1000 items a day so bulk buys are his preferred method to purchase.
I'm in the middle of Michigan, USA, and our sales look exactly like that...minus the Thai food stand!
Ha ha. They had all types of food at this fair but Thom knew exactly what he wanted 🤣
2 things I noticed… Mr thom eyes 👀 when you said Turkish bread 🍞 and the amount of CDs people sell at these events are crazy.
His eyes lit up for that Turkish meal LOL
Hi Mel and Thom
Hello! Thanks for watching us!
Good to see an Aussie car boot sale and lovely to hear the birds. Takes me back to my trips there. My travelling days are done now, so I’m living vicariously through your videos. Thanks Mel 🎉
I love the magpies warbles
I was going to ask what kind of birds those are in the background.
@@backfromburnoutthanks for sharing what they were! I came to ask 😂 very distinct sounding.
Love a good trash & treasure, Thom does what we do, scour quickly on the first lap, then buy on the second....great fun!
It’s a good tactic!
lol your American followers “it’s freezing for thongs” 21:18
Love Blacktown markets. We also buy Gozleme from that place, its awesome. Tell Thom they still show movies there.
It was so yum I want more! I wish Canberra still had a drive in
Lolz... you guys are cute. Rock on dudes.
Thank you!
I enjoyed this video so much! Thanks Mel. Always motivating and showing the ins and outs of your journey. You only got one book but looks like you had a great time. And Thom is the best! Very generous with his time and knowledge. 😊😊
Sometimes we find heaps and sometimes nothing! That’s the reality and the thrill of the hunt :) We always have fun, eat good food and enjoy our chats in the car along the way so it’s always worth it.
Nice tour of an Aussie flea market.
Can you record Thom whilst standing still. I don’t think people appreciate just how fast he paces from stop to stop 😂
He s literally on the fly!
Ha ha he does move fast
It’s a big guy thing. We move way faster than people expect. When I first met my in laws they had to run to keep up with me while I was walking. After 2 hours they said they had to go back to their hotel and go to sleep because I wore them out.
If I wasn't so fat we would be running Jon
What a lovely, happy video Mel. Lots of congenial banter between you both and the stall sellers. I am with Thom. Would definitely have had an icecream too!😅 What is the name of this market?
It's known as the Blacktown Drive In Market
@@dahub1127 thank you
New subscriber here! I've been a bookseller mainly on Amazon for about two years now, and I recently discovered your channel. I absolutely LOVE your content, energy, and knowledge. I haven't seen too many female booksellers making videos on reselling. I sell mostly on Amazon because eBay just didn't work for me, but now you've inspired me to give it another go! I am pumped thanks to you! Thanks for sharing your journey with us, and howdy from Texas!
Hi Mel. Ive been watching your videos for a long time. I’m still subscribed but I had to search for you. Your last 5 or so videos have not come up for me but I don’t know why. I will watch them though.
Gozleme are so good. Aldi have them in the frozen section, good snack item 😋
Oh I’m heading to Aldi then today 🤣🤣🤣 it was absolutely delicious!
Something tells me the seller also left with that $800 book.
Not the place to be selling $800 books lol
Love a good car boot . One question, how tall is Tom? He seems to tower over everyone.
6'2
I figured it had to be over 6' I'd have a crick in my neck looking up at a solid 5' lol
What in the world is that sound in the background that sounds like a slowly dying bird 😂😂😂 as always love your videos and vlogs!
You guys have got me hungry lol. Will need to go to a market haven’t been for years😀.
You should! It was fun! I wish we had more markets
@@backfromburnout definitely will even if it’s just for the food I’m here😂😀
Love a road trip and stopping in at anything you see. Ahh the old drive in markets! We have those at Yatala. Thom is a man on a mission, love it! Another great video Mel 😊
I love watching him source :) He has adrenaline running through him with the excitement of the hunt and what he might find.
My old stomping ground in western Sydney there😊
Love your vids, fellow canberran eBay seller
Tom sounds like a flea market tour guide.
Ha ha he’s an expert!
is this prestons?
Blacktown
I could feel how cold it was! Thom with his icecream LOL
It was nice and sunny but still very cold that early in the morning. He loves ice cream ha ha
Thom and his man bag. Must be an ACT thing ... 😅😅
Pft. I don't believe him. Thom is so strong, it probably feels like nothing to him
He is strong but you would be surprised how heavy CDs are. That insulated bag is heavy with nothing even in it lol
Tom is a good man.
Yes he is ❤
Thanks for taking us along!
Our pleasure!
Reminds me of a british car boot
I look forward to going to a boot sale when I visit UK :)
Thom was on a mission.
Always!
I miss going to flea market while I'm in FL, not here in PA.
I set up two seasons at a flea market, about 45 drive one way, so not worth the time and energy, the setup, tear down, for little money. Never do that again.
Agree, worth it for that food, it looked yummy, time for me to go get an ice cream now😂❤
We just don’t have many here around us which is a shame. They’re fun to go to.
Love these videos with Tom and would love to see more on how he set up and runs his business as well.
We will do a warehouse tour video as soon as he is ready. He’s in the process of moving some things and making some changes inside the warehouses.
@@backfromburnout thank you! Absolutely loving your channel and I look forward to every video.
Thank you!❤
Great to see Thom in his element
He loves it!
Where is this market at please
Blacktown Sydney!
What???? What ring “he bought her”???? Are you two engaged now? Did I miss the memo?
No she was talking about another person who just got a big shiny ring!
Do people use wsgons the way they do at US flea markets? It would save the back!
Yes some do but the rows were very narrow and it was busy.
You folks need a small wagon. I have a folding garden wagon for such occasions. It makes shopping a lot easier and more pleasant if you buy a lot. And it’s not too big. 🥰👋
I have a good trolley and we took it into the first market that we didn’t stay in but I decided to leave it in the car for the second one.
That place is Huge !
It was!
Hope you guys consider the total cost of car expenses. Otherwise it makes good quality time together...... sometimes those long trips eat at profit and your time😊 more so on those nickel and dime items😊
Oh yeah. We try to go to multiple places to source on our trips to make it worthwhile but it is nice to mix some business with pleasure and we just enjoy each other’s company and taking the car rides together. It’s a nice escape from the warehouses.
That was fun, where is that market ? I wish I lived near there, I love markets. julie
Blacktown in Sydney
Fun video! Where is this flea market in Sydney? I must have missed which it was.
Blacktown!
Great road trip video! Sorry you didn't find more treasures but loved seeing you both enjoying the time spent!
Thanks so much! That’s the reality of the game. Sometimes we find heaps and other days we drive and hunt and don’t come away with a lot.
Thongs in the UK are a totally different item😂😂 great videos
LOL
I love watching y'all for your content and all the information I have learned, but I must say, y'all's accents just absolutely brighten my day! So fun! I love exploring with y'all.
Much love from Texas ❤
Everyone needs an eagle eye like Mel in tow 😀
lol 😂
@@backfromburnout “ She’s fast and thorough

Hi Mel! People don't charge you more when you have a sweatshirt like that on? They'd charge me more around my parts for sure! 😊
I will happily wear it into the thrift store or markets. I’m a loud and proud reseller and never hide what I do :)
@backfromburnout Of course. I'm also very proud to be a reseller. Not at all related to what I was asking though. Sorry my comment was misunderstood
I bet it was menangle markets that was the bad market on Sunday
Yep!!! Maybe in a few months it will grow and get better but we were in and out within 5mins lol
Wow, what an amazing market! Love seeing your finds and your snacks. Great content Mel!
Hahaha
"You cougar"
I am too!!! hahaha
AND David wears sandals in the winter too - weirdo hahahaha
He says, there shall be toes when no snow. Hahahaha
Ha ha. Yes Thom is 41 and the local drive in movies closed in my early 20s so he was probably in early high school and that was before he could drive lol
@@backfromburnout oh funny!! I often times remind David, when I am copiloting the car, that I have been driving longer than he has hahaha
That was nice to see you both enjoying a day out at a great flea market!
Glad you enjoyed it
Mel! You are such a joy to listen to! Love your laughter! 💜🩷💜🩷💜
I have one of those pop up stools. I highly recommend. Especially after i had knee surgery!!
It looks like you enjoyed your day at the market!
It was fun to do something different!
Fun video! Ya'll are so cute together! : )
Was that Blacktown markets?
Sure was! I’m definitely keen to go back in the summer and get there one day when it first opens!
Never too cold for ice-cream 😋
Was it Menangle Markets that was the flop?
Looking to get out there in the future once they've got a few more stalls. Might see you there!
Yes it was! We will try again in another few months. It might take a while to build store holders.
I was about to ask the same question 😂
I was wondering too if it was the new Menagle market! Sad the Prestons location closed down, I would sell there every now and then. Menangle Park is too far!
@@karlyp3920 i did aswell when my kids were really little and it was always so busy hopefully menangle takes off in the next few months :)
You definitely know your books!
drive-ins were the shiz
So good!
Great video thank u ❤
