I think this is a great option for people who can't afford a GTI. I'm glad that Hyundai gave this car a clean, understated look. Honda can learn a lot from this. In my opinion, if you are a hot hatch enthusiast. The GTI and Focus ST are the vehicles to have. I bought the GTI because it is the benchmark to which all other hot hatches are measured.
Yeah i traded my 2013 Genesis Coupe for the 1.6T Elantra gt, my gawd, in terms of driving dynamics, it’s better than the Genesis Coupe. Its an amazing hatch for the money.
DJ cuellar i got the trim just below the fully loaded one. It was 24k. It has everything in would want plus a little extra. The fully loaded Elantra GT have the sunroof, ventilated seats and a nice sound system.
Was looking for recent reviews on this vehicle and your Video was recommended to me. This video was posted 3 hours ago from my comment. How convenient, couldn't find any decent videos on this vehicle, but your review was great.
Here in MN, the base GT Sport goes for around $20,000 because no one is buying them. It’s insane. This is without a doubt my favorite contender for next vehicle for my wife and I.
@@justinjones1644 `N has 275hbp, but i wish we had the GT. The N version is double the price. And the regular one has 136bhp max.. US gets the best of the both worlds
@@Dexxter_slav That's right. I said I30N, meant just regular I30. I had only just started researching this car at that last comment. Regarding the title of your vids: How can an "in-depth review" not include a road test??? That's one of the most important parts of a car review. Please consider re-titling your vids; the titles are deceiving.
Well unfortunately, too many people call me out if I title them anything else. Such as SK04 (who happens to be a good friend of mine), people say I'm too close to his, so I'm trying to think of something else. Also, these are dealership cars that I do not have permission to test drive, so therefore I make these videos as detailed as possible with what I've got to work with.
I'm now officially split between the civic hatchback sport touring and Elantra gt sport. Which drives better, offers the best luxurious vibe and is the quieter (road noise) of the 2

Yes here in Australia we have the i30 sr Version, I’ve add LED headlights, and indicators as they come standard with halogen headlights....I’ve also added a sports exhaust, and a rear spoiler I bought from Korea. Frecken awesome.
I just got my 2017 Elantra Sport and I am loving it. Please please please do a comparison with the Elantra Sport in terms of driving and everything...!
Just my 2 cents I test drove both the Elantra Sport and the Elantra GT Sport a few weeks ago and found there to be very little difference in driving dynamics and acceleration. I think the Elantra sedan looks better than the GT. I think the GT has a slightly more responsive infotainment screen, but it's not as nice looking as the Elantra sedan's screen, which is located within the dashboard instead of on top of it.
ManateeMentality Exactly what I think! I keep looking at the Elantra Sport and the GT and I still love my ES! It's more traditional and more sporty looking. Gotta love the rims too!
Yes the sedan does have much nicer looking wheels than the GT. I think they could have done a lot better with the wheels on the GT. Right now they kind of look like a knockoff Tesla Model S wheel. Also the GT's red interior accents look really strange both in the video and in person.
ManateeMentality very interesting! Now you mentioned it, the "red" stitching looks like more orange red to me on the GT. And I'm so happy with the back seats of the seden which offers more leg room. And I'm super surprised about the gas mileage too. I was coming from a 2015 corolla which averaged about 7.6L/100km (I'm I'm Canada), and my ES gets about 6.7L/100km. Haha I'm I'm love with this car!!!
The blank switches on the console next to the shifter are for the heated steering wheel (only in Canada!) and probably the park assist functions that are available in Europe.
Can definitely see the GTI influence in the rear especially the glass. One thing that surprised me is the door locks. That's really weird with only one button showing it's locked; do not like that at all. Other than that the car looks nice, great review!
So I really loved the interior design of the Sedan and wish they would have stuck with that for this model, I find the red highlights and tablet a little bit of a deal breaker for me. BUT, the more I research this vehicle, it has a lot going for it compared to the sedan, in terms of practicality, sensing etc. SO, I'm thinking, what if I had the red highlights detailed out to an aluminum color AND the shiny (cheap looking) black finish on the tablet detailed to a matte grey or possibly aluminum finish..... thoughts?
not having a physical way of unlocking the door is really just stupid. What if the electronics fail and your're unable to get out of the car? There needs to be a back up
igrenade learn how to read. I said get out of the car not get into the car. A keyhole on the outside of a car cannot help you get out if the electronics fail.
Unfortunately no. Even though I work for the company, I cannot randomly take test drives because they don't want miles being put on their new cars (unlike customer test drives).
Lol funny story was I was at automax to get my car service and the lady said would u like a loaner car until your car is ready n done I said sure so the lady look up some cars n this was the only one nobody wanted I mean nobody wanted it because you how people are in the world they want such n such instead of giving this car a chance I said sure Kong’s it’s has four wheels I’m good lol she smile and she pull it up it was just beautiful I got in it and man nice real nice put my foot on the pedal n felt like it was ready to race lol break u have to push hard but after driving it I like it it grew on me moral of the story don’t knock it until u try it I never like hatch back type but this car I love really do💯🚗
I see what you're saying about the "too much red" in the interior. But I'll bet if it wasn't there, people would be saying that "it isn't differentiated enough from the regular car". I'd get this car with the 6spd and the first package. After incentives and negotiation, it'll be well under 23k. That's a hell of a bargain. I just wish you could get more features on the non sport model with the manual. At least heated seats. That 2.0 naturally aspirated is a great engine, and the base model on the non sport GT is more of a "punishment" trim than "I like driving stick" trim.
If you like the looks of Elantra GT (i30) then look at Peugeot 308. It's basically a prettier version. It's a shame that some brands and cars are not available in certain markets.

The Elantra GT Sport is actually 100lb heavier than the Elantra GT Sedan. Probably because of the panoramic sunroof.
