A trio of railtours FEATURING a Class 40 D345, Scots Guardsman 46115 and a Black Five 44871

- This was an ambitious plan to video three railtours in the space of four hours and as you can see it worked well despite risks of being 'bowled' at two out of the three locations. The first tour is seen at Five Ways, Birmingham where Class 40 D345 is seen shortly after departing Birmingham New Street on its way to Salisbury. We then move to Sandwell & Dudley to see No. 46115 'Scots Guardsman' hauling the Capital Christmas Express from Chester to London Paddington. Apologies for the slightly out of focus video on this one. For the final location we head off to Hencote Lane near Shrewsbury to capture the Christmas Cheshireman hauled by Black Five no. 44871.

I caught d345 at stoke works junction and it’s a shame that alycidon didn’t get the chance to take part in that tour due to a mechanical problem

Wish you hadn't used the drone at the end, it zooms out way too much, not what we want when a steam engine runs along at full speed. Other than that, merry Christmas Scots Guardsman and Bobby the Black 5. You're taking a leaf out of King Orry's book, Bobby. King Orry didn't stick around to see you.
I'd disagree, I quite liked the drone shot at the end.
Drone captures are not too everyone's taste but they do provide new perspectives, especially where lineside vegetation is excessive. I usually put them at the end of the video so you turn them off. Regards, John
