Not even close. Elon Musk is a great businessman and has great vision. However, this is where it stops, the true genius is the staff he employs.
Nikola Tesla is a whole different league along with Faraday and Edison. These people founded the way for most of the technology we rely on today and more recently people like Vinton Cerf, Bob Kahn and Tim Berners-Lee that all did their bit to bring us the World Wide Web and the nternet.

This is why I am Long TSLA. Yes the company’s fundamentals aren’t great, but what Elon Musk is trying to do here is BIGGER than all of us - I really want to see the company succeed.

Covid-19 is what i called survival of the fittest......I mean honestly if your only goal is to "become a millionaire" you're just begging to make a dumb decision and be disappointed...I think many will become millionaires in this current bull market but it's not the right mentality as holding can be very dangerous. If you listen to the interviewer's accent, you can clearly hear that he is from the UK. He said "what" not because of not knowing what kilometers are, but because of the outstanding speed, 200 kmh. That's around 4 times greater than the speed limit in cities in most countries.

Elon seems to project his happyness into the future by imagining it to be a better place. One where ‘we’ as a species reach our full potential. Or atleast attempt to do so.
The sad part of the equation is that Elon himself will never be sustainably happy in ‘the now’ due to manic depression (or so I believe). Why do you wake up in the morning? What’s the point? I believe he isn’t asking those questions to the audience but more so to himself.
I hope I am wrong. Someone doing his absolute best to solve some of the major issues of our time deserves to feel good about it. I can relate to finding solace in projects though. Setting your mind a specific task... focus on it... even obsess over it... can briefly distract you from depressive thought patterns.
I am not in any way trying to compare myself to Elon, but I do recognize his struggle. He sais he is not trying to be anyone’s saviour. I think he is wrong about that. He is trying to be his own saviour. I hope he succeeds to the point where his existence is less about survival and more about living.
Definitely a great point of view! I think for some of the questions he might’ve been asking them for himself, you can somewhat see from his facial expressions when he goes deep into thought and pauses. We can definitely relate to finding solace in work too, but like everything else there’ll be a point of diminishing returns. Really hope he’s doing well mentally 🙌

Guys: have you noticed that Elon Musk does not believe that he is cleverer than anyone else. That was powerful and the real inspiration for me. The interviewer started out with quite a condescending tone (please forgive me if I am wrong) but Elon Musk had to fight through all the presuppositions and prejudices in order to answer the man. At the end, the interviewer was in awe, but Elon Musk is unmoved. He genuinely believes that every man or woman has ideas that can change the world for the better if we imagine and work hard enough. That is my take-home message from this. Yes- he is awesome. But he believes YOU are awesome too. Do you believe? do we really believe? How many ideas have we squashed because we thought they were too crazy? Not all of us want to go to space. But we have dreams about cooking or medicine or art or mathematics or cleaning that could blow the world's minds. But we do not believe in ourselves. Imagine if we all believed like Elon Musk does. What would the world be? If I go up to Mars, I will go with my skills to assist, not just to chill. God made me fearfully and wonderfully. There is hope.
